well technically it's 15th anniversary hit on the 30th of November but still. Thief and it's two sequels the vastly improved Thief 2: The Metal Age and the albeit it weaker thanks to using the horrid Deus Ex: Invisible War engine, third installment Deadly Shadows are among my favorite stealth games of all time.

In the game you take on the role of Garriot a loner and Thief who at a young age was taught the ways of stealth and shadows from a mysterious group known only as the keepers who sought to bring him among their numbers but Garriot decided there was no profit to be had and left and uses the skills he was taught to rob from the various elite who make up the social class of the City. While the first game has some issues such as the second half leaning a bit more on the action side of things, which they fixed in the sequels, the game was still a ground breaking classic and still is considered one of if not the best stealth titles ever made.

If your intrested Thief 1-3 are currently avalible on Steam and GOG.com fixed up to run on modern OS's and hardware, now while I haven't tried the Steam versions of Thief 1 and 2 but the GOG versions have been updated to use the New dark engine which is a fan created reworked version of the game's engine to improve compatibilty as well as add some improvements such as being able to use Direct X 10 and 11 lighting effects, just check the steam community hubs for Thief 1 and 2 to check if not then they probley still use Timeslips old solution which forced the games to run on one core and force direct X 9 suppourt but Timeslip's fix can have issues with playing the in game movies/cut scenes which can cause the game to crash or just skip the movies entirely while the New Dark fix on the other hand doesn't but the Steam versions(if they still use Timeslips fix) can be patched to use New Dark instead.
