Time magazine did a cover article on Tor and the Deep Web recently.  I read it, and it was quite the interesting read for someone that doesn't know too much about that sort of stuff.

I understand that to view otherwise unaccessable websites in the Deep Web, you need to use the Tor browser.  My question is, can using the Tor browser make me anonymous/more secure while viewing my usual cache of websites?

Also, what is the legality?  I understand that there are some dark corners out there, like the Silk Road website.  Is it illegal just to visit that site, or just to make a purchase?

Enlighten me geniuses  :D

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each prayer accepted, and each wish resigned.

You can use Tor to visit all your normal sites, but the connection to the server won't be from your network.

Well I wanted to make Mike feel better after his little moan in the other thread.
