I'm looking into a few options.  If we moved these forums over to MFX and made them read only with no signups, would that work for you guys?  Basically only the people who needed it would have the link as it wouldn't be advertised.

We'd have our shiny new MFX forums with shiny new post counts and sections, and a legacy, archived, read only EFK board that only veterans would know about.

Definitely a better alternative to starting completely fresh, but if the forum aspect is from a hosting standpoint ($$) I think most of us shouldn't have a say in the matter as Sam's been fronting the bill.....

.....but an alternative to someone like me that loves the....."established" feel of a lot of sections here, is there any way we just trash all the e-fed related sections on these forums, and just re-link these boards with the new MFX site/domain?

Like Sam, and many have said. 90% of the people that are active dont e-fed or have any ties, which looking at it it's such a small part of these forums. I think less than 15,000 of the 310,000 posts are e-fed related, so to me it seems like ridding the 15,000 and keeping the rest oppose to scrapping the 310,000 for the 15,000 is a little more appealing. Combined, ridding the e-fed sections would rid those that come here primarily for the e-fed aspect (which I can assume is a very small amount of members)

I dont want to come off at nit-picky, but I know games like FBL would be difficult to have to start over as there's lots of patterns/history within each thread that really is a large part of the game and having to do an excess step (going to the archived forums) would be annoying.

I dont know if it would cost initial $$ or anything to keep these forums but I for one would be in for tossing a few bucks to help carry everything over, and I imagine others would too if it was a financial thing about keeping these current forums.

But that's just my take, at the end of the day I'm going wherever Sam/Ian take us, the community of us will make the message board, not the message board making the community.

I have been out of the rping phase for almost a year now however been running a fed. I have to say your site been a good resource on what to do right. It has been a good networking site and I do approve your change if its hurting your pocket book.

If your finding the resources helpful, I'd recommend you make copies of all the pertinent threads, for future reference.

And here I thought I was one of the few who no longer participates in fedding. Looks like everybody has been out of the game.

A lot of what already exists on here has sentimental value too. I've been here since 2010, so a vast majority of my adult life has been spent on these forums.

I am down for that... love to keep the history of the place , it been my home on the web for a long time .  I follow you guys when it started back in the day ... I will continue to follow you guys to the new place.

I agree with Cory ... I do feel bad that Sam been having to front the bill ... if it does come down to throwing in money to help keep it running I would gladly pitch in. I am doing well now and I have not forgotten the support of this place and all the members during  the bad times

in the end I understand about the move , we have to grow and evolve ... but we have to remember the past too... as we move into the future ... put me down for any help that is needed

Contrary to the popular opinion I wouldn't be too fussed if we lost post-counts and old topics and all those things so long as we had a community together.

I hope this means some of the other friends of the MFX show will come and socialise too :D

I'm down for whatever happens next. I have a small concern about the future of efedding in general, as it seems this site won't be the only one going away (i don't know all the details and won't go into it here), but as you and others have said, it's time to move on.

Can't wait to see what the future holds.

You're right, Jesus is nicer. But Alex is a close second.

Sadly e-fedding is gone to the wayside...

A few years ago, I would have been like OMG! WTF! NOOOOOOO!!!! PLEASE DONT SHUT EFK!!! ITZ TEH BALLZ!!!!

The fact is efedding has long gone with me, as it has for others.  Its not a bad thing, and I do get the urge every now and again to see what/who is the leading e-fed, but thats nothing.

A wise man once said.. and bonus points for the person that knows it..

QuoteThe very essence of instinct is that it's followed independently of reason.

And I believe that is what you are doing, and I agree.

The thing is, I will follow the community.  I FBL, I NFL, I Football predict, I MFX!  I follow the things that I need to follow.  Efedding is one i do not.

This could have been a post where it initially said F*CK you guys, were closing, and it wasn't, it was far from that.

It was a post that said we are evolving, and we are following our hearts.

I will follow, history or not.  If its there, great! would be good to reminisce time from time, but sadly for the most part of it, thats not what I wish to follow.  I cat remember the last time I read an e-wrestling related post.

Onwards and upwards.  evolve....
