I'd definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it, go and watch Coraline now!

Yes, it is a kids movie, but in all honesty, I don't think I could have watched it as a child. It is an amazingly well done movie and I highly rate it!

The Good Guy is pretty funny.  Though I don't think Colin Farrell could land that hot chick if they weren't actors.  lol

I have to say Louie on FX is pretty awesome.

TV Show- Party Down on Starz, great show, terribly underrated.

Movie- The Killer Inside Me, starring Casey Affleck, a really good movie and I'm also a huge fan of Casey Affleck.

Seconded. Runs out of steam towards the end but very inventive. Episode 2 is the best of the run.

glad you finally saw this. And that at least one person besides me watched Summer Heights High. That show was hysterical.

Of the current shows on Television. Im catching up on Friday Nights Lights so I recommend that. There really isnt a lot of summer shows apart from True Blood I tend to catch outside of some fun reality shows like wipeout and so you think you can dance but Madmen is starting up so im content.  Ill update the list when the fall comes out

Movies that you might not have seen...Let the Right one in, see that before the remake hits. just rewatched Atonement which was a sneak under the radar kinda film in the year of No Country of Old men. And i just rewatched a french film that I love called Love me if you dare. Step out of the box people!

I recommend Rescue Me, pretty cool show about fire fighters and its one of the most real "GUY" shows I've seen in the manner that the guys talk to each other.

Henry: Portrait of a Killer. The most amazingly well done trash film ever.

Rubicon New show on AMC (same channel as Mad Men and Breaking Bad), the show is interesting as hell some may not like the fact that its slow as fucking hell but the Wire tended to be slow and the pay off was rather good. If you like conspiracy theories, and the such you should check it out.

As an Aussie I will talk this one up, Very Good series, Better than Chris Lilleys first series which was about trying to find Australian of The Year. (Was the first time Jai'me was introduced) But with SHH, Jonah would have to be the funniest character.

Memorable Quotes

So I imagine this is the right place for this.

My and my mam and dad spend two nights of a week watching tv together (I know... it's very 'Brady Bunch' of us) We're in the process of making our way through the box set of The Sopranos but we're getting through it quite quickly so it wont be long until it's finished. My problem is I don't know what show we should watch next so I'm looking for suggestions.

I was thinking Deadwood but heard it ended abruptly so watching three seasons only to have it end and not come back would irritate me no end.

We've already watched the Wire and I've seen every episode of Dexter. I was thinking Treme but that's only on it's first season and only 10 episodes at that. I was thinking Mad Men too if anyone has any reviews on that.

Any suggestions fellow EFKers?

Also

24

Its a good watch plus theres tons of it, so you wont make your way through anytime soon.

Not actually a fan myself, but i know enough people that are to recommend it safely

If anyone is a fan of black comedy i highly recommend The League of Gentlemen. It's unique in its humor so give it a few episodes to ''get it'' before giving up on it. Once you're on their messed up platue of existance it becomes engaging and extremely funny

This kinda came up in the TV Character game thread, but if you haven't seen Parks and Recreation, then you're doing yourself a great injustice.

- Boardwalk Empire if you can get hold of it
- The Walking Dead
- Friday Night Lights (I love this show and I think I am in the minority lol)
- Eastbound and Down (personal guilty pleasure of mine, might be one for pure hilarity file)
- True Blood (though maybe watching loads of sexy vampires having sex in front of your folks might be weird...)

I just watched my first episode of Sons of Anarchy, kind of on the fence about it so far. Added Always Sunny to my list of things to start watchin from the beginning as well as Blue Bloods.

I would highly recommend asian horror movie Suicide Club. I would also like to recommend  Prometheus for those who haven't seen that movie yet and you should slap your selves if you haven't

So, how hard should I slap myself for really not liking Prometheus all that much?

Just started Season 7 of The Shield, and what a fucking awesome show this is, nuff said.

HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new series. A "dirty cop" show, with a perfect mix of relationships, brother-hood, violence, and story-telling. Some of the best season Finales ive ever seen, twists as well.

9.5/10

Orange is the New Black on Netflix.  Made by the same person that made Weeds on Showtime, and you can definitely tell that it shares the same dramedy 'feel' as Weeds does.  Kind of loses its way for an episode or 2 midway, but finishes strong.

I can't be bothered going back to check the thread to see if these two have been mentioned already:

Veep is brilliant.  One of my favourite shows at the moment.  Snappy jokes every 10 seconds and some brilliant performances, especially by Julia-Louis Dreyfus.  They give her all best constructed rants and sweary insults on the show.  It's written by the guys behind the AWESOME The Thick Of It and the movie In The Loop - both of which are high my list of favourite comedy show/film.

So is Louie starring Louis CK.  Probably the most original comedy show on TV because it follows no conventions of tv comedy.  Louis CK is one of the funniest stand-ups around and has been for years.  This show is written, produced, directed and stars him.  The fact that FX don't even see the show until it airs is one of the truly incredible things about this show.  There's no messing with it by the network and it shows as the tone, style, even the comedic elements change from show to show and sometimes within one episode.

The 3 part season three opener where it's Louis vs. Jerry Seinfeld for the job of taking over from Letterman is 90 minutes of pure TV gold.

Peace

Keep meaning to track down VEEP as I loved Thick Of It and it's got Elaine from Seinfeld in it. Both of these are positives for me.
