Damn right!!!
Need more hitting to contend, but they should be competitive this year.
Go Tigers

If the Braves lose we'll have sole possession of first place on Day 2!
I'm holding out hope for the Diamondbacks, but I feel like it's going to be yet another long season.
I'm being cautiously optimistic this season for the Blue Jays. They have a decent team, a lot more rookies then they usually carry but they have the potential. I just don't want to get my hopes too high because, well, I have for the past few seasons...

Hope for what? Have you seen our rotation. Dont worry your Cardinals im sure will pull through that you don't have to suffer through a diamondback season like a real fan would.

Wow .....
You do realize we are in contention for worst record in the league right and your thinking playoffs?
It's called hope for a reason.
Also, it's April. Season's just starting so there's still plenty of optimism left.
Now if it's August and they're 20 games out and I'm saying it then yeah I'd understand why you'd go wow lol

This ain't the FBL. :D
Most of the hope there is the hope that one doesn't get fired.

Your expectation is just so far from realistic though. We are not even close to playoff contention.
Some people would've said the same about the franchise winning a World Series within its first 5 seasons of existence and they proved people wrong. :P
I mean, I get that it's not realistic but my hope for the team's success wasn't really meant to be realistic. I would like for them to make the playoffs sure, but they'll probably finish no higher than 4th in the division. I know that. I'm just being hopeful at least in the early part of the season that maybe that unrealistic goal gets at least a little bit closer to being achieved. I'm always somewhat hopeful in the beginning of the season no matter what team I'm rooting for, even if more often than not the end result turns out to be disappointing as it often does with Arizona teams. I'm weird like that I guess.
Later on when we're 20 games back I'll be resigned to the team's eventual fate, but at this point there's still a lot of baseball left to go and just about anything could happen.
Red Sox beat the Yankees after 19 innings and they have to play again in under 12 hours.
Both teams will be cranky and there will end up being a fight.

And that's a bad thing?
Not as long as someone punches Alex Rodriguez right in the face and knocks him out.
Uhhh A-Rod is kinda the hero of the team atm...
And I would want that because?
Why do you want him knocked out?
Are you a Yankees, Mariners, and Rangers fan too?

Because I believe he deserves it.
And no lol
Go tigers
Unbeaten in week one
He served his time and deserves to be in the league so long as he does it right.
The only reason he's still in the league right now is that he's still under contract, the Yankees don't want to spend tens of millions to get rid of him either by trading him and paying the majority of his remaining contract or releasing him outright, and nobody else has the financial capacity to realistically take on the rest of his contract and actually be able to contend.
It's not even the rule breaking that makes me want to hit him though so much as the fact that he plays for the Yankees and to me at least he kinda comes off as a douche (not as much as Barry Bonds, but still). The rule breaking admittedly didn't help his case, though.
Archie Bradley is a pitcher to watch this season.
It's like No. 42 is doing everything tonight.
It's Jackie Robinson Day, for those unaware.
Holy hell, the Orioles and White Sox are playing in an empty stadium.
Yeah, after postponing like 2 games they chose to play this game but close it to the public because of the rioting mess. Just the thought of 2 professional baseball teams playing in an empty stadium is weird.
It is weird but I can see why they're doing it given what has happened.
In other baseball news, the Padres didn't play in front of any fans either...
And K-Rod struck out 4 times today.
...
mhmm
mhmm
You sure?
...
...sorry that was A-Rod actually.
The Cardinals are on fire right now.
Oh man to all my fellow Mets fans out there (there's like one of you) the magic number is 6!

Damn right....
Not only hoping for a great playoff run, but that they pay Yoenis. Guy has changed their offense...
Need the Angles to keep on keeping on.
Sweeping the Twins on the road was HUGE!
But really, with our pitching staff, we have no reason to be in the postseason.
Digger we did it! Now we're shockingly also trying to clinch home field advantage in the NLDS!

So much futility the last 10 years.... Still almost doesn't feel real.
Home field would be nice in that round.
So my Blue Jays clinched the East, though what was interesting to me was that in the last 6 years, every AL East Team has won the division once (Tampa, New York, New York, Boston, Baltimore, Toronto). Might be the case in other divisions to. Who knows.
Stoked for what is to come though.
METS TO THE WORLD SERIES WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Man what a 9th inning ... runner on 3rd with no outs ... just need to tie the game and the Jays don't get it with Batista on deck!
Hats off to KC

Yeah the Jays bats were just not as good. They couldnt get it done with guys on base all game.

Gibby blew it - they played the entire 9th to give Donaldson a chance to win it as oppose to making sure they tied it up (the Navarro at bat was key). Shame to see a good team done apart by a shitty manager ...

Yeah i didnt understand the Navarro at bat. Goins was hitting better anyways. Even if they werent trying to bunt id trust Goins more in that situation. Gibby was just inexperienced at managing in the playoffs/big situations and blew it.
When it came down to it, the Jays bats really only beat up on the bad pitchers. I had the Mets 4-1 if they would have advanced.
Now I have the Royals 4-3.
Mets 4-2!
Royals 4-3
Mets 4-1. I know I sound like a fan here, but Harvey, DeGrom, Syndergaard, Matz, Harvey will be too tough to beat in those 5... Every one of them has great control and throws HEAT...

You actually sound delusional. Royals in 5 is more likely.
Playoffs are ruled by pitching. Mets have the better rotation by quite a bit and a solid bullpen. Royals pen is better, but rotation doesn't live up.
Cubs were as good or better hitters than KC and they hit .164 as a team...
Royals in 6.
4 to 2, winning both games with DeGrom on the mound, and getting a win from Harvey and Sydergaard. That's what it will take.
Royals are your World Series champs!
Ah well.
