So I decided to do the best of 2008, up to now. This is just what i have so far this year been digging and what I have deemed as worthy music. So here's 15 CDs that I have picked up that I enjoyed.

15.  The Hold Steady - Stay Positive
14. The Futureheads - This is Not the World
13. The Last  Shadow Puppets - the Age of the Understatement
12. The Apples in Stereo - Electronic Projects for Musicians
11. The Gutter Twins - Saturnalia
10. The Fratellis - Here We Stand
9. Ashes Divide - Keep Telling Myself It's Alright
8. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
7. The Black Keys - Attack & Release
6. Black Mountain - In the Future
5.The Parlor Mob - And You Were a Crow
4. R.E.M. - Accelerate
3. The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
2. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!
1. Firewater - the Golden Hour

There's tons of stuff I haven't listened to yet, but as of right now, this is the best I've found so far this year, and I'd recommend you all check out at least 3 of these.

Accelerate by R.E.M is a great song, I really enjoyed, the rest to me were sort of meh.

Rob

I thought the new R.E.M. album blew chunks.

Since they played MGMT at the end of Skins Series 2, "Time to Pretend" has been the most overplayed song ever.

I have to say my favourite album from 2008 is probably "Finding Beauty in Negative Space" by Seether. That might be late 2007 actually...

Some good picks there Tim, I still can't get in to the Fratelli's, but I'm gonna check out the Black Keys album, heard some stuff before and thought they were pretty good
Shank â€" Action Josh Madrid does towards anyone making a racial slur towards latinos on the SB, his main target is usually Midas.

I'll toss out the Old 97's as well, they have a new CD out. They are labeled as Alternative Country but they are very rock influenced too.

I'm gonna also add the new Fleet Foxes album. It's classic. Strongly suggested for those looking for mellow stuff.
