NFL Debate #51: Expanded Playoffs

I think there should be a preseason just not one that lasts four weeks.

Pre-season isn't for us, so there shouldn't be discussion about changing it for the fans. We don't matter much in that equation.

Here's the two things we all need to understand.

- The NFL IS going to expand the playoffs, adding one team per conference. There is no longer a discussion of whether or not it's going to happen but rather, how soon will it happen.

- The player union will never accept a shorten preseason, extended regular season until they get proper health coverage AND rosters are increased even more. The reasons for the former is known and the reasons for the latter has been stated in this topic.

You know what makes the playoffs less prestigious? When a 11-5 team is left out of the playoffs. And getting rid of the divisions is stupid, the entire scheduling system is based off divisions. Then you say, "fine keep the divisions but get rid of winning a division gets you a playoff spot" but then what is the point of the regular season then?

The "prestige" of playoffs is nonsense when the better teams year in and year out miss out because they're the 7th horse in a 6 horse race. The season where they finish just on the outside may be their best chance at winning it.

Plus this way the entire NFC West can make the playoffs.

11-5 how? Maybe they should shouldn't have lost the division or conference games that mattered.
