! JDM The Professional !

Hey all,

Basically, right now I am sucking with lyrics. I guess, since the past year has basically been eventless, I have had no inspiration for my lyrics, which is why they have all sucked.

I am writing some pretty decent tunes, which is a shame considering I have nothing to put to them.

I was wondering if there is anyone who writes lyrics, and has some I may be able to use?

Regards,

JDM

Hmmm... Well, I obviously write songs, and write lyrics but I don't know if you'd like mine. I mean, lets take my 26 second "bookend" "Revenge Abortion" for example:

Quote
Revenge Abortion - Violated Cerebrum

There once was a rich man who lived on a hill
had sex with his sisters to get his own fill
when they swell up he gave them a pill
and buried the fetuses under the hill

Fetuses lie now under the ground
hoping in sunlight to never be found
if they were found, word would get round
Rich man would become shame of the town

Fetus was found by a kid on a bike
sought out the rich man and told him the like
bashed in the kid's head, buried the tyke
rich man would rest until lightning strike

lightning strike to bring on fate
and for the fetuses this was great
rose up from the ground, began to mutate
sought out the rich man to enact their hate

Rich man is living in sin
a knock on the door that he wouldn't let in
fetus barge in
bust up his skin
and from his raw flesh consuming begin

Yes, admittedly, not the most profound or poetic stuff.

However, I would like to propose a philosophy that lyrics themselves don't matter, and are an obscuring factor. I mean, Revenge Abortion was written to be the most obviously over the top, disgusting, and distastelessly moronic song imaginable. I however, think in most cases, it's best to just repeat the melodies over and over again, and improvise until you get something you like. If it's good, doesn't matter. It phonetically fits the mood of the song, and that's what counts.

On a side note, however, I'm extremely curious to hear what the man who said simply "There is no God" to the circus song I wrote that I bothered playing at a 300 bpm tempo at some points has to offer musically.

Which you definitely will as soon as I get to recording :D

Those lyrics are quite fucked up :) but in a good way. Would have fit some of my old metal stuff, that's for sure. But I am trying to keep to a acoustic/keyboard base nowa' days.

Don't use those! They're my artistic property! They were just an example!

As for your songs, feel free to upload them. I'll try to give slightly more detailed, and eloquent feedback than you chose to give me. Still, urg...

Level-One

Hey, man. I write, rap lyrics (soon to be recorded); but the method of the madness can always be applied to different types of music. I've always wanted to branch out and help someone in the meantime while I am preparing my own stuff; and this seems like a good place to start.

PM me what topic in specific are you looking for along with any other details; and I'll see about cooking something up from scratch.
