Need Some Help...

So I have a PS3 and all I play is sports games (American Football, Baseball and Basketball).  I've done this my whole life and have decided to branch out.  I am looking into different shooter games.  Anybody have any suggestions for a good shooter game?

Call of Duty. I prefer Black Ops, but Modern Warfare 2 isnt bad, and the new game is coming out in November.
