Well, I'd like to hear everybodies thoughts who has one, I seen some talk about the Kindle Fire in the tablets thread, but I am more specifically interested in the e-reading aspect of it.

One thing I would like to know is, are you able to "borrow" e-books from your library, basically are you able to get a decent range of books for free even if only for a limited time?

I use a Nook "Simple Touch"

I went with it over either a color or a tablet, because I like the e-ink.  It's easier on the eyes, and all I was wanting was a e-reader, not a net surfer and such.

I like the nook because it can read other formats besides just Barnes and Nobles and with calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/) you can easily import and transfer other books (I get a lot of my free books for the Baen Free Library http://www.baen.com/library/)

Don't know about Kindle, I've read they were going to integrate borrowing, don't know if they have.  Nook has "nook friends" where you can exchange books that are "lend me".  You can also use Adobe Digital Editions to check out books from libraries that allow digital checkouts.  (I've never looked into it but supposedly there are some libraries that allow memberships for people not even local to said library for digital.)
