Since WWE stopped doing the popular King of the Ring tournaments, I (along with the rest of your EFKers) have decided to bring it back in the form of an online fantasy tournament!

The tournament will consist of 32 current superstars (chosen by us through a polling system). The winners of each match will be determined by your votes. A new match will be posted daily throughout the next month.  Sound like a fun idea? Now, let's get some nominations on who you think should be in this tournament for the best CURRENT wrestler!  After everyone nominates, I will put out a pole, where the top 32 voted on will go into the tournament and seeded by # of votes!  Every June, I will do this again to name a NEW EFK King of the Ring!

Good questions. I'd say you can nominate a maximum of 4 wrestlers. Any active wrestlers from any organization. They have to be currently active, retired and deceased do not count.

Kurt Angle is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He is also known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), and for being the only Olympic gold medalist in the history of professional wrestling. Angle is the only wrestler in history to be a Triple Crown winner in both WWE and TNA. He is the first man to have held the WWE, WCW, TNA, IWGP, and World Heavyweight Championships in his career. I'm going to go with whom I prefer, as long as that result makes some sort of booking sense.for example, technically I prefer aj over colt, as she entertains me, and I just don't get to watch a lot of Indy. However I cannot see any promotion booking her to win in a tournament of this nature. The rest of today's matches I was able to comfortably vote for my preference.

Retiring veteran versus new guy getting a push! This one should be interesting!

I'm voting based on a few things. In ring ability, personal taste, and if I think they need or deserve a KOTR push/win. Like for instance, I actually voted Gunner over Angle. I happen to like Gunner, his ring work has been steadily improving, and he could really benefit from a KOTR type of win, where Angle doesn't need it.

I like this idea.

I like that people have different reasoning for voting, should make the whole thing a bit harder to predict. I actually went for booking logic over who I like today. I have never been impressed with storm, and I really like miz, but there is no way a face miz would win this one. If he was still heel I would have allowed for him getting a sneaky or illegal pin and therefore an upset, but no booker will make storm tap to that version of a figure four lol.

I don't have a reason.  I've watched Rey since his US career began (even seeing him live at the ECW Arena a few times), but something about him always rubbed me the wrong way.

Storm for me.  I enjoyed the Miz when he was more a midcard talent... but he really went sour when they started pushing him up the card.

A no-brainer for me.  CM Punk has become my favorite... and don't anticipate that changing any time soon.  His championship win over Cena at Money in the Bank a few years ago was the standout match since the Attitude Era, IMO.

I could take or leave Daniels.  I think he puts on some good matches but he's pretty much the same guy he's been since he first burst on the scene.

I'd be OK with a draw on this one.  Yuck.

I figured Punk with squish Daniels, but I still voted for CD. He deserved at least one vote.

Cody Rhodes is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. If it was current?  It is current.

Cesaro is really the perfect person to get a King of the Ring-style push in WWE today, but on top of that, I just like him better.

It being current Rollins is one of the expendable members of the Shield.  He can take the losses Ambrose can't.  The Big Show is large enough that the team might resort to a DQ finish to injure Show in the long run for an easier win down the line.

Samoa Joe is an American professional wrestler. He is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He has also won the 2005 Super X Cup Tournament, the 2008 King of the Mountain match (the only one to retain the world championship in the match), the TNA Triple Crown, and the TNA Grand Slam.

Kazarian is an American professional wrestler of Armenian descent. He is currently signed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He has also worked for numerous promotions, including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, where he won the PWG Championship twice.

I don't think I've ever seen a Cabana match.  I thought TNA really dropped the ball with Lethal, and could have pushed him to the moon.  Easy decision for me.

I don't understand the fascination with Joe.  He's a less intimidated version of Taz from the late ECW days.  At least Taz had a somewhat of a menacing look about him.  Joe's just a flab machine that is well versed in suplexes.

He is an accomplished tag team wrestler, being a two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with his partner Chris Hero as the Kings of Wrestling (where their 364 day reign as champions was the longest in company history), as well various independent tag team titles both with Hero and with Ares as Swiss Money Holding, such as the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas, the JCW Tag Team Championship and the CZW World Tag Team Championship. This is a tough one BUT based on his work in the mainstream wrestling circle of WWE I went for Ziggler, he's been probably one of the best wrestlers in the E for hte last 18 months whereas Cesaro hasn't really impressed me like he did during the CZW vs ROH feud

That's who I think of when I see Joe.

Joe is talented, but a lot of people overrate him IMO. To me Roode is the better overall performer of the two. He's damn good in the ring, he's great on the mic, and he's been able to evolve and change over time. Joe is, was, and always will be, an angry guy who can do some ass kicking. His promos seems to always be the same thing as well, just him really angry and telling the guy or guys that he's gonna kill them. I like Joe, but his gimmick/character is very one dimensional.

CM Punk won't get beat by much of anyone for me. He's the best no matter what. He trained me back in my short time at LWF. He's the best in the world. Truth!

This was a fairly predictable finale.  Easily the two best wrestlers on the planet today.  Punk wins solely based off the mic work.  Bryan's easily on his way up in that category but is still a notch below Punk.

Either way, the WWE could make some serious cash if they build towards a WrestleMania match between these two next year.

Went with Punk. He has it all. The overall verbal skills are what puts him over the top.

What a great final. Glad they were able to avoid each other beforehand. Going with Bryan, he just edges it for me in ring and I think has shown slight more versatility character wise, despite punk engineering the best angle wwe has run in years.

I went with Bryan...for what Punk makes up with gimmick, Bryan is a little better than Punk in ring.

For me, the guy is 100% committed to WWE at the moment and on putting out a fantastic product, I don't think CM Punk is
