Alright folks, it is nearly November, so it is time to start thinking about the holidays! Last year, I organized a Secret Santa that was fairly well received, so I am back to do it again! Any and all are welcome to join!
We will run it the same as last year. We will EXCLUSIVELY use Amazon.com Wish Lists. There will be a $20-$30 (US Dollar) spending limit. Once everyone signs up, I will Random.org the list of participants, and distribute the names to everyone.

I'm in. I was thinking about this today and almost scooped you on making a post.
Been meaning to post this for like 2 weeks, but kept forgetting.
I kinda wish we were picking our own gifts rather than getting something off a list. Or at least had that option.
Well last year the consensus was Amazon Wish Lists. I am more than willing to have a discussion about opening that up for this year though!

What does everyone think about Bones proposition to have an option to not use the Amazon Wish List?
i think it a fine option , having choice not to use the wish list is fine with me , but I will more than likely use the wish list again. Wish list made it easier to ship things for me

I'm in again. And I don't mind if we use Wishlists or not. Might be a good idea for people to have a general wishlist made just in case, and then not be 100% committed to getting something off it.
why dont we just make a "wish list" here in 1 separate discussion thread and the moderator of this thing can give out addresses and go from there or is that a problem with people?
The reason we did Amazon wish lists was because you could keep your address private and Amazon would handle delivery without revealing it. Some people have problems with giving out their address and I don't blame them.
Plus there is a big fraud issue if you pay for a product at one address and have it shipped to another address on another state. That gets flagged and could cause issues. Not a problem with a wishlist since Amazon does the delivery. And if you avoid that problem by shipping to your house then you have to pay to ship it out again.

Okay, for those proposing not using wish lists, how would you propose we handle this? Everyone PM's me their address, then I distribute them based on who you draw? Judge makes a point about some people not being okay with giving away their address.
Lets discuss how this might work.

I think....so long as you use an official Amazon seller, you can gift whatever you want. You get into trouble if you try to ship something from outside the US though.
So the wishlists can be used as a base, and then you can go from there if you choose.
I'll go ahead and join the fun this year, but I have one request (especially if we're talking about not being exclusive to wish lists).

Don't think you can mail alcohol anyway (at least not in my State....alcohol can't cross county lines)
I think it's reasonable for someone to make a list of 'don't get me this, this, or this' for free form gift givers. (or just general guidelines like no alcohol, keep it safe for work, etc. etc. etc.)
For record, in addition to thing I got for Midas off his wish-list I also sent him a pretty custom anklet.
How about this. When you guys send me your info to distribute to your Santa, also writeup a short "profile" for me to pass along. Sort of a "here's some things I'm into, here's some things I'm definitely NOT into". Along with that, also set up the Amazon Wish List, that your Santa can use if they wish, or just use to get an even better idea of your taste.

Well I want to thank my santa for the awesome blender (I needed a new one badly). I've already put it to use, mixed me a banana, almond milk, frozen peas, carrots, sweetcorn, green beans, spinach, strawberries and protein powder. Thanks to the blender all of those things were edible and easily digested ;D

theres been concern that some people ( at least in the co/utah area) that people have been getting cards that have been opened and stuff removed. if there was something opened id say something. in some cased, money or gift cards were removed and in some, the holiday cards never made it to their destination...

Also Amazon is hilariously splitting a lot of orders this week.
So this was my gift. Its the 1910 expansion to the game ticket to ride which is one of my favorites. I was just looking through the box and this is outstanding. Larger tickets, easier for new players, new ways to play, I'm excited to put these to use.

was curious cuz i ordered the megadrive V3 back in november (which requires him to solder so it takes time) and was wondering if maybe he made a mistake and switched it.

for anybody who doesnt no, this is a drive replacement for the gamecube/wii. when its attached, it allows the user to play wii/gamecube games off of SD card rather than a disk drive. so i just DL the game to SD card and play. TY again santa josh :)
