PWInsider reports that NXT Diva Sarah "Shara" Backman requested and received her WWE release several days ago. Backman is a former Swedish arm wrestling champion who signed a developmental deal in March of 2013. You can check out a photo of her below:

- The following matches were taped for tonight's WWE NXT:

* Tyson Kidd vs. Bo Dallas
* Sasha Banks vs. Bayley in a NXT Women's Title tournament match
* Adam Rose vs. Danny Burch
* Natalya vs. Layla in a NXT Women's Title tournament match
* Mojo Rawley vs. Oliver Grey
* Adrian Neville vs. Brodus Clay in a No DQ match for the NXT Title

- Out of the 5 NXT talents released by WWE this week, the only two to comment publicly so far are Oliver Grey and Danny Burch. They wrote on Twitter:

Burch: "Had a great 2 years. Here's to the next chapter of Martin Sone/Danny Burch"

Grey: "Thank you for all the messages today...I will be sad to say goodbye but I leave with no bad feelings and excitement for the future"

- Some of the WWE developmental cuts were made last week because a number of new talents are starting this month and next month. Gerald Brisco was going to send 6 to 8 amateur wrestling recruits to begin training in June at the WWE Performance Center. University of Minnesota's Tony Nelson was the guy Brisco was highest on but at last word, Nelson had not signed with WWE.

- Matches taped for tonight's WWE NXT include Emma vs. Charlotte in a Women's Title tournament match, Alicia Fox vs. Alexa Bliss in a tournament match, Camacho vs. Captain Comic from Adam Rose's Rosebuds, Kalisto & El Local vs. Sylvester Lefort & Marcus Louis, The Ascension vs. Buddy Murphy and a partner plus a battle royal to crown a new #1 contender to Adrian Neville's NXT Title.

- WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension vs. Buddy Murphy and Elias Samson did not air on last night's NXT episode but is scheduled for next week.

- Tyson Kidd tweeted the following about last night's NXT battle royal and next week's triple threat to crown a new #1 contender:

"Crazy ending to the battle royal on @WWENXT Next week is a triple threat match, I'm positive you don't want to miss it"

Kidd also revealed the official NXT Takeover logo:

- The former Drake Younger worked last night's WWE NXT live event in Orlando as a referee. There had been rumors that he was being signed by WWE to work as a referee instead of a wrestler.

- WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension continue to tweet about coming to WWE's main roster. Viktor tweeted the following last night after The Shield defeated Evolution:

"The Shield survives through the chaos. Rest up Hounds of Justice for chaos attracts more chaos. #WWEPayback"

- Fans were turned away from last week's WWE NXT Takeover event at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The same thing happened with the NXT Arrival special. The NXT Arena at Full Sail is a 400-seat building.

- WWE NXT Divas Carmella and Devin Taylor made their in-ring debuts at last night's NXT live event in Tampa. Carmella picked up the win. Carmella is the former Leah Van Damme and uses a "Princess of Staten Island" gimmick. She was paired up with Big Cass recently. Devin is the former Brittany Fetkin and has been doing backstage interviews and ring announcing for several months.

- WWE NXT star Baron Corbin said to be one of the developmental talents to watch. He defeated Wesley Blake at the May 30th NXT tapings in a dark match but did not compete during the actual tapings. Corbin, real name Tom Pestock, previously played for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals.
