We've just signed Andy Johnson on a free. So that's Zaha, Warnock and Andy Johnson in about 2 weeks.

I'd sooner have Victor Moses, Ben Watson and Clyne back to be honest but it's okay.

I'm pretty sick of non-United fans telling United fans how we should feel about our club. I had to put up with it last season when I said that Moyes would take us out of Europe. Looks like I was rigrabout that one. The club has not done what the  fans wanted and certainly not what I wanted. I wanted the club to finally buy players to fix our glaring problems. Instead, they went out and made statement signings and ignored the problems. Where is the replacement for Vidic and Ferdinand (Rojo and Blind are not specialist CBs)? Where is the replacement for Roy Keane? Why have they bought another starting striker when the manager has already had to change the formation to fit in the two we already have? Why did they let a good squad player go and keep Young, Anderson, Cleverly, Evans etc? Why did they spend 60million on a winger for a formation that doesn't use them? They could have used that money on Vidal or Pogba. They bought two world class players but, even if you could argue that the squad is better, the first team isn't. We've got one of the worst looking defences in the top half and brought in a Dutch John O'Shae to screen them. The transfer policy at Old Trafford was utter madness. I'm  hope I'm wrong... just as I hoped I was wrong last year.

Signing Falcao only makes sense if we'd sold Rooney (which we should have).

Should have paid 50m for Vardy I suppose.

The appalling decision for the first penalty didn't help, but the defense was shocking for the rest of the game after that. Watching Roony scream at the players after the way he'd been performing sickened me as well. He's should be nowhere near the captain's armband for Utd or England.

At least he was trying. He was the one chasing Vardy more than once - where was the rest of the midfield and, more importantly, the defence?

A lot of Man U fans seem determined to hate Rooney no matter what he does. He may not have been at his best but on the day, aside from a bit of flair from Di Maria, he was one of the better players. Having Falcao, Di Maria, Herrera, Van Persie, Mata, Januzaj etc is all well and good but they offer nothing at all defensively. Rooney at least knows how to put a foot in - but he shouldn't be trying to pick up the slack for all of them.

Kirk

That's not Rooney's job and running around a bit does not make one of the best players. He's supposed to be the link between the midfield and attack and he's supposed to provide creativity in the center of the pitch, when he's playing at that no.10 position. He isn't supposed to go charging back into the defense and give the ball away just outside his own penalty area... and then scream at the other players because they conceded a goal from his mistake. His touch is poor, he doesn't think quick enough, his passing is careless and he doesn't have the pace to beat anyone anymore. Mata is a better no.10 and Rooney's only the 3rd best no.9 in the squad now that we have Falcao. He's told Van Gaal that he's best at no.10 because he knows he can't compete with the other two strikers. He should be dropped, but the captaincy seems to guarantee him a place in the team every week.

As for your question about the midfield and defence, I think I've already made my thoughts on that pretty clear: Woodward bought the shiniest objects in the transfer window instead of the players we really need.

Yeah it's not his job, but he's the only one that seems to be busting a gut to get a foot in between the ball and your goal. If he didn't run back then it would be one less person for an average Leicester team to utterly embarrass back there.

Vardy's 4th goal was a clear indication. Mata gave the ball away, Rojo was miles out of position and Rooney ended up closest to Vardy when he scored. There are 8 other players that could feasibly be dropped before Rooney in my opinion. Di Maria is the only one that offered anything particularly special.

Beckham was the same when we needed to beat Greece all those years ago - everyone else was terrible but he covered every inch of the pitch and was the only one that showed any real desire whatsoever to win the game. He got massive praise because he was part of a winning effort in the end.

I'm not going to say Rooney is playing like a worldbeater, but there is nobody else in that squad that is capable of wearing or deserves to wear the armband more than him.

At least someone is screaming at his team for being shite, at least someone shows they care.

I'd be pointing fingers at Rojo for extreme positional naivety from a WC finalist, Rafael for being weak and rash, Van Persie for offering nothing in the build up play and Herrera for not getting a foot in.

So yeah, running around a lot does not make the best players - if so Vardy would be in the England squad - but it shows a lot more character and determination to try to fix things than staying on the periphery and dangling weak, spineless tackles in when you're horribly out of position and then not chasing back every time you give it away or get skinned, which is what the rest of the Man U team seemed to do against Leicester.

Ronaldo.... Worth the price for Man U?

When is the punchline coming?

...Oh, you were being serious.  Ronaldo is worth any price quoted.  Period.

Gravedigger

There's no doubt he's amazing, but are they better served buying one guy who could cost nearly 150 million euros or multiple players that could make a better overall team?

Kirk

You could buy a good Championship team for that kind of money. No player is worth that much.

January is quickly upon us...lets get hype about deals that probably wont end up going through.

Sadly for TFC here in Canada, Jermain Defoe looks to be going to QPR....good for Canada is our only promising defender 21yr old Doneil Henry looks to be signed to West Ham.

As for Arsenal, Morgan Schneiderlin, Winston Reid/Fabian Schar and a prospect like Dele Alli would suffice LOL

For Utd: a CB and RB who can stay fit.

We need a quality left back, a striker that can actually play up front by himself, a winger to replace Bolasie once he goes off for AFCON and a new manager...

Fulham need a decent centre back, left back.

Thankfully we are selling ruiz so someone decent on the right for Roberts to be an understudy to.
