Meh, it's the Ultimate universe. That's where they can try things they're too scared of doing in the 616-verse.

If this is leading to what they feel are better stories, I say go for it, though I wouldn't be surprised if we have a "Battle of the Cowl" type thing in regards to the Spider-Man name.
