Nab the freshest foursome of the con collectible crop

By name, San Diego Comic-Con is about comic books. By rep, it's a place that makes movie news. By the time you get there, the biggest lines will be for toy exclusives. Choose well and fetch a fortune on eBay. Choose poorly, and you'll end with a handful of landfill-choking chintz. Here's our fave four:

#1. Love is a Droog - Kubrick-inspired collectibles rarely happen. Retro Outlaw Studios' 12" autographed resin statue of Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange will make non-attendees an envious green.

#2. His Name is Mud - Like Lobo a few years ago, Swamp Thing is considered too "mature" a character to sell in Kmarts across the country. For some fanboys, this'll be the first time they spend $30 on a vegetable.

#3. Bear Market - Lost may be done, but what collection would be complete without a bobble-head of the greatest supporting character ever: the polar bear! Like you, he just keeps nodding as the plot twists pile up.

#4. The Mane Event - Three decades on, the great crossover battles of '80s toy boxes can be relived in style, as Bandai releases Thundercats' Classic Lion-O in a scale and style similar to the recent He-Man relaunch. Goofy yelling action not included.
