I don't get basketball but have watched a lot of it in the Olympics and I have a question.
Is there any way to tackle somebody without it being called a foul? No matter what you do it appears to be a foul! Confused dot com

I'm sure LeBron, Wade or Kobe could tackle someone and it wouldn't get called a foul, but any other player would most likely get the hammer thrown at them for it...

Intercepting the ball on a downward arc. Foul.
Snatching the ball. Foul!
It just seems you have to wait for a rebound and appears very frustrating
It's all on the interpretation of the officials. Unfortunately a lot of times they call sissy fouls.
