I think the easiest issue is that BD get's Kentucky's 2nd round in this years draft

Kentucky still gets Jose Caballero but trades its season 13 2nd round pick ... simple and everyone gets what they expected for next season.

All in favor?

As an impartial observer, I think this is the best option.  I also feel that Hondo should have to pay a small fine (500k - 1M pr or something) for trading something that he does not have.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Boston pretty much gets nothing in that deal.

It's simple. The deal is null, Kentucky couldn't make the trade legally, and if people still want to move players around maybe they can work a new deal. Maybe even let Stoner change his protections if he really wants to get rid of Calballero.

They can have my own 2nd round pick from this year that mysteriously went to Honolulu in addition to the one that Hondo would send them in Season 13.  Anything to make this as copacetic as possible.

Random thoughts...
Let's look over my predictions from the start of the season.
Season Finish Predictions:
West –
1.   Las Vegas Aces (actual: 1st)
2.   Montana Bears (actual: 4th)
3.   Roswell Aliens (actual: 5th)
4.   Boise Spuds (actual: 8th)
5.   Seattle Toppers (actual: 2nd)
6.   Anchorage Glaciers (actual: 3rd)
7.   Hollywood Stars (actual: 6th)
8.   Honolulu Volcanoes (actual: 9th)
9.   Wyoming Wolves (actual: 7th)

East –

1.   Boston Bells (actual: 9th)
2.   Texas Stallions (actual: 2nd)
3.   Providence Diamonds (actual: 4th)
4.   Kentucky Hayseeds (actual: 1st)
5.   Virginia Colonials (actual: 6th)
6.   Puerto Rico Waves (actual: 3rd)
7.   Tampa Bay Dragons (actual: 5th)
8.   Pittsburgh Blades (actual: 7th)
9.   Mississippi Steamers (actual: 8th)

Well my picks were a little off for the playoffs. I did pick 5 out of the 8 playoff teams which was pretty good considering how much heat I got for some of these picks. Boise missed out because the general manager movement, Boston shocked me with how bad they did this season, and Roswell underperformed. Overall I didn't do too bad as far as rankings go. Here were my playoff predictions from before week 1 so here's what I posted before the season started.

Playoff Predictions:
East –
Round 1:
Bells over Hayseeds
Diamonds over Stallions
East Finals:
Bells over Diamonds in 3 games

West –
Round 1:
Aces over Spuds
Bears over Aliens

West Finals:
Aces over Bears

FBL Finals: Aces over Bells in 3 games

Yeah, I was way off. For the first round I'm going with Texas, Seattle, Montana, and Kentucky.

Now here's the list of guys that I recommended before the season started to draft: Swoop McCarthy, Ronnie Stanza, Ben Williams, Bryan Holmes, Chris Poole, Chris Perkins, Andreas Kurtz, and Carlos Moreno.

Well Swoop, Stanza, Williams, and Kurtz all ended up being pretty solid. The others....well, yeah. :P

And here's the list of free agents I recommend for the people I advised to pick up from free agency taken from the exact lists that I sent out in separate messages:
Greg Walton, Sunshine Stream, Remo, Jose Caballero, Simon Frame, Suziki Hondo, Bonba Elbomu, Bael Giankopolis, Grizla Verenka, Sabba, Zizak Rekov, Ramick Lazco, Jamie Dawson, Cazluc Vraba, Flan Bulous, Jimmy Street, Felix Johnson, Bamba Smalls, Aaron Paige, Eko Kholov, Ching Bu, and Craig Gary.

Bit of a mixed bag there. Stream is up AGAIN for Sixth Man of the Year. I remember someone told me that they weren't getting him because I recommended him. Shame on you. Don't say I didn't tell you to get him, lol. And yes that was during the expansion draft. Also want to point out that I was the ONLY person promoting Suziki Hondo for being a free agent pick up. He was totally off the radar and now is the starting PG on the playoff bound defending FBL Champions the Puerto Rico Wave.

Speaking of that...

For the newbies with expansion teams, the guys Franchise recommends are Apollo, Kradle, Foster, Stream, Vraba, Walls, Chachenko, Paul, Walton, Weasel, Cross, Giankonopolis, Free, Johnson, Peters, Smalls, Scott, Huffers, and Frame in that order.

Yeah, that list isn't too bad other than Walls, Foster, and Frame. Yeah, look at the season stats from this season. All of those guys that were in the FBL put up solid stats all around and yet I specifically remember being ripped on for those picks and that order. I guess I'm the El Dandy of this place. Who are you to doubt GM Franchise? lol :P Just wanted to point that list out too since it wasn't as bad as originally thought. Here's a trip down memory lane for ya'll...

http://www.efedknights.com/boards/index.php?topic=14845.7665

That's all for now. Until next time this is GM Franchise heading off to the draft war room to do some analysis and planning for the Volcanoes Season 12 campaign. Later all. I'll be back with a post playoffs, post drafts edition of FBL Franchised.

How important/effective is preseason training? For example, I plan on sending Dennis Reigns for scoring training, as he wants to build that part of his game. If I were to also send him for defensive training, where he is already a great defensive player, would it make a difference?

It'd still go towards increasing his rating...so he'd probably become an even better shutdown defensemen in this case - a few more blocks, less points against any opposition he faces a.k.a. a nightmare for anyone in the East playing the SF position. <_<

This. Go for either ratings increases or decreases in problem areas such as ball control for example.

FBL-A-Palooza X8: Now With Just As Many Sequels As Megaman X
Yes, we are eighteen of them. Where are the first sixteen, you ask? Hell if I know...
By "That Strike Guy" on March 20, 2013

Needless to say, time has flown and the most exciting time of every season is upon us...that's right, people, it's the FBL Playoffs! Where epic speeches are made, crazy good basketball gets played by very good teams; yes, we separate the wheat from the chaff in all of those games and in this mailbag, it shall be no different. Let's not hog this further with introductions and get to it. As always, these are actual e-mails from completely fictional (and delusional) readers.

Q: Will the ghost of Chucky Dorrance haunt GM Jen for seasons to come?
- Dave, Pasadena, CA

TSG: Well, we might as well knock the heavy stuff out of the way. As we all know, Chucky Dorrance wasn't exactly known for his basketball prowess but the circumstances that involved his death are completely unfortunate and very shocking. No human being deserves to have his or her life cut short that early, let alone somebody that was living their dream like Dorrance did. At the same time, let's get into the facts (and I know I'm going to catch crap for this)...the idea that Hollywood fans are calling for his jersey to be raised and be right next to Scott Fletcher's is downright stupid. It's about as asinine as the squad that GM Death built around Captain Scottie in Season 6. I know GM Jen gets a lot of crap for being "cold hearted" and all these other things. Holding her ground may not be the popular move, but at the very least, it's not an extra addition to the Hollywood Stars' Hall of Shame, which seems to have grown larger and larger since Season 6.

Q: What players and coaches do you think will bolt for Europe?
- Matthew, Parkersburg, WV

TSG: Ooooo, we're getting to this one earlier than what I'd usually would, kids. We've been hearing the rumors about this "Super League" that Europe is bringing together for a few weeks now and a lot of big moves are being made in question. While we haven't heard much from the Madrid camp due to Moe Christopher's imposed exile/suing of the FBL, Milan's made their move to grab the Sui System and have it implemented within the newly found Milan Sharks, all of England is rallying to get their greatest basketball player in Chris Penny take the reins of the London Mavericks (even though he wants nothing to do with it...much like Samy Blackhouse refusing to go to rehab and writing a song about it before she passed) and Burt Hawk's sights are set on grabbing a franchise player from the FBL and bringing him to Barcelona.

Sui is a given and considering their friendship, I wouldn't be surprised if Marcelo follows suit to be his assistant in Milan. As for London, I could see them reaching out to Conrad Class after his contract with Honolulu is up and as for star players...I'm willing to bet the house that Mason Griffin goes to Barcelona. Hawk knows him and what he can do from their days in Wyoming and given the multiple issues within that franchise, Mason might just try to find a way out of his contract and to go for a bigger bank in Spain.

Time will tell...but this offseason is going to be a crazy one if Europe decides to bring it, kids. Count on it.
Oh, given that we touched upon Griffin a few moments ago...

Q: Will GM Death have any players by the end of the season?
- Jason, Casper, WY

Q: If Swoop, Mason, or Andreas want to leave...wouldn't the easier option be to just get rid of Black Death?
- "Common Sense," Cheyenne, WY

TSG: (Thinking) You both might be onto something here. However, while he may be a fool, GM Black Death has always been considered a (somewhat) loveable fool. But, at the same time, costing a Ferndale triplet the rest of his playing season (where he wasn't doing too terribly) did seem to set quite a few guys off. I haven't seen Ching Bu wanting to murder somebody this badly since his Tampa Bay Dragons days when he was elbowing the crap out of Stallions players during the GM Rebel hard-nosed defense days. So yeah, he mightaaaaa just pushed his luck a little too much this time. Another wait and see situation.

Q: Why aren't more people talking about Reggie Jones?
- Francisco, Jacksonville, FL

TSG: Valid question. Given his consistent of level of play, he has considerably gone under the radar – especially if you consider some of the numbers that he's been posting ever since Maurice Mays took over as the Head Coach of the Dragons midseason. Averaging 18.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 steals through the entire season is no joke, but when you then throw the new coach (who just so happens to be a multi-time All FBL player, 3 time FBL champion, multi-time MVP and the greatest point guard to ever play the game of basketball) getting hired right as they went into week 6, not only do Dragons go 5-2 on that spree, but check these numbers out in for Jones (rounded to nearest decimal and all):

22.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1 steal per game

There's no doubt that having a guy like Leighton Lee passing the ball to him is a big help, but I'm confident enough to say that had it been Mays behind that bench from the beginning of the season until the end of it, the Dragons would probably be looking at a playoff berth over Providence and Reggie Jones might have, just perhaps, ousted Scott Cunningham out of the Season 11 Rookie of the Year award. He'll likely be second place in the voting...but Cunningham's had the better overall rookie year from start to finish.

Q: I get why Leighton Lee would be pissed that fans are asking him to lose games but shouldn't he be able to see where they are coming from? Where do you come down on this? Frankly I think they should win as many games as they can at home and lose as often as they can on the road.
- "Most of Tampa Bay's Fanbase," Tampa, FL

A: ...they went 5-2 over the last seven games to end with a respectable 7-9 record – it is the Eastern Conference, after all. I think they'll be okay. Besides, do you really think that Maurice Mays knows what the word "tank" mean, let alone how to do it? Guy's been used to being a winner since he was destroying guys on the court that were two to three years older than him in his freshman year at UNLV!

Q: Who is the most hated GM in the FBL?
- Chris, Denver, CO

TSG: Without a doubt in my mind, it has got to be GM Dorling. The loud mouth, the mannerisms during press conferences (including him walking out of his own conference on Week 8 after a less than stellar night for his Aces), the fact that he has done nothing but build winning franchises since arriving in the league alongside the Virginia Colonials (not to mention, being the first and so far only GM to commander an expansion team to a FBL ring) and that he will tell you all about it if you ask him. Dorling is the guy we love to hate, he's the 'villain' that the league needs and let's face it...the fact that rumors got around that he actually told Commissioner Trumps to go chase himself over the phone during the Kentucky/Virginia debacle that led us to Civil War II – aka epic playoff basketball – would make this man an absolute legend on the same level of Billy Mavis, Mike Flips (when he played basketball) and Ted Mackay if there's any reality to them. So yes, Dorling may be the most hated, but I'm sure he revels in it like this guy:

tony montana scarface badguy speech

Q: Will we see the return of Biology to the FBL next season?
-  Jordan, Newark, DE

TSG: Primo Pancho and I were actually legitimately discussing this the other night in between episodes of our Match of Monarchs marathon on OBH. They have been very, VERY quiet since Kadeon Apollo was excommunicated, given the fact he was just using them to show many women where the REAL Block Party was at – which they should have seen coming...I mean, has everybody forgotten his rookie year in Season 6 and the madness of those parties out in Boston?!

Anyways, back on point, considering that Jordan Brandon seems to still be hanging around with the group in Hollywood, I have no doubt in my mind that we haven't seen the last of them just yet. The great Lebron Cupboard is one full of surprises, apparently. While Pancho and I are still trying to make heads and tails on what jackass came up with the name "Lebron" for their supreme being (because we all know anybody with that name just won't succeed at anything...it's science), we do realize that they will attempt to find homes within the FBL. It could be one of the newer franchises in San Diego or Birmingham. It could be in a bigger city like Boston. Hell, it could be Boise.

Oh crap, Primo, IT COULD BE BOISE! TYTY IS INSANE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!!!!

Q: Will the Volcanoes erupt under GM Franchise or become dormant for a season as he turns them into a car wreck?
- Aimee V., San Diego, CA

Q: What happens first, Alex K loses his V Card, or James wins a game in Honolulu?
- Lance A. Boyle, Hell, Michigan

TSG: Relatable questions get grouped together on this one. I covered a bit of this on the last mailbag, but to be frank, it's all going to depend on how Franchise handles the offseason after being a season away from the FBL. If he does everything that he did during his many seasons...you can say they're going to be very, very dormant. But if he plays his cards right and builds a team within the next one to two seasons, that eruption...could very well happen. It may not be immediate, but it may happen.

Second of all...let us remember the fact that Alex K once won a porn draft. A PORN DRAFT! By a landslide, I might add!!!! I'm willing to bet he loses his card two weeks prior to Franchise winning a game in Honolulu. Which means (and I emphasize this once again) that if we see "Bad Boy Era/Alienopoly/Your Season 10 Boise Spuds" Franchise, it gives Alex K the wiggle room of an entire season. GET TO THE BABY MAKING ACT, ALEX!

Q: We've been warned since the 80's...first it was the USSR...then it was China...now Europe is trying to take over the USA...RISE UP WOLVERINES!! Red Dawn remake a third time.

TSG: ...speaking of crazy e-mails...

Q: It goes without question that GM Franchise is the worst GM in the history of the FBL. Who do you feel is the second worst? GM Black Death has the most losses in the history of the FBL while GM TyTy is surrounded by drama with every team he goes yet GM BD seems well loved and GM TyTy's team have a decent winning record. Do you feel that the second worst GM of all time was GM Fisk aka the GM who tried to have sexual relations with her team? Whatever happened to her?
- Heart-broken that Dakool Fox dumped me for asking too many questions, somewhere in the U.S.A.

TSG: Not 100% sure on GM Fisk's 10-4 at this time – remember hearing it was family issues (and on that note, hope all is well with her). However, before we go any further, there is one very key thing that trumps that argument entirely...Fisk has been to a Western Conference finals with the Spuds.

Something that TyTy and Black Death haven't been able to do as GM's.

At all.

And to his credit, Black Death also did make a playoff appearance with the Steamers two seasons ago.

Thus, by order of elimination, that would make GM TyTy the second worst GM in all of the FBL...

Jonas Brothers - Oh How The Tables Have Turned

Q: Will any other players join Nik Bliss and become doomsday preppers?
- Michael, Boise, ID

TSG: Give him a bunch of trashy girls and cameras and I'm pretty Jimmy Street would be game (hell, he could probably convince DaKool Fox to join the festivities if the right amount of girls and the guarantee that Moses Franks' sister would be there to witness it all). Hell, I honestly would love to see Nik Bliss taking a few survival courses with my good friend and excellent marksman in Mr. Talon Wilkinson (yes, ladies, THAT Talon Wilkinson of CRW ownership fame) – it could make for a fantastic mini TV series if GM Rob is willing to throw a bit of PR towards it. Might do Nik some good to quell some of those paranoid fears he's been showing as of late.

Q: For a guy named Bliss he sure lost his cool pretty quickly...
- Aaron Tree, Anchorage, AK

TSG: (Shaking his head in disapproval)

Q: Nothing like a vote of confidence from an owner about a GM that didn't need it.  This has set up written all over it as Bob is pissed that Strike sent away his daughters one true victim...I mean love. No...I meant victim.
- Not Xavi Madrid, Barcelona, Spain

TSG: (Too afraid to say anything)

Q: Who do you think will co-star with Fan Mu in the next Tree Man movie?
- James V., San Diego, CA

TSG: Tony Massimo. Massimonium needs to be brought to Hollywood. Just make sure he doesn't go anywhere near GM Jen – she takes good notes and I'm pretty sure Tony would never pass an audition in which she sits in.

Q: So, why haven't you tweeted a live feed of Bogolov's playoff speech from the @EMBRACEBOGOLOV account?! Hell, if you need any ideas, I'm pretty sure all you have to do is find your way to Providence, sneak into Bogolov's house, somehow plant all sorts of cameras and wires and I'm pretty sure you'd get something related to basketball in between all the hookers he takes to his home and makes squeal like Billy Joel Winchester's old, dead pig Murtel.
- James, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

TSG: Yup, these are my readers!

Back in olden times I once walk in my mother having sex with a goat. A big goat who drank vodka and thought he was mayor of town. I walk away, I say nothing to cocky goat till one day when in the barn...I rape his goat ass with my broom handle. In front of cow, in front of horse, in front of cheeky rooster. Now the goat know he not mayor of town, that Vlad mayor of barn. Barn respect Vlad. We go to Barn this week, we see our Mother Buck Fender bent over performing oral sex on GM Hondo the Goat. He stand there with happy look on face...his horse Frazier, his cow Bishop and his cheeky rooster Bennett all like what they say...Diamonds will be Vlad's broom handle...prepare to be entered Hondo...prepare to be raped...and after we drink vodka over your body of filth...

Epic.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.
