Even I don't think Mutu should get MVP nods.  But I remember last year Justin and Cory talking about Mutu's game being a 1 game thing when it came to shutting down Reggie Jones or Troy Marshall.  Now Justin is using Mutu to elevate Kolo Rolo who won't even be on his team next year.  Brings a smile to my face.

It's all about who puts up more points. So, if you've got a guy who is great offensively and good defensively, it's better than a guy who's great defensively and only okay offensively. Not saying that defense isn't important, but I had to learn the hard way that it takes both offense and defense to win a championship. Mutu and Rolo are both tremendous players, and they bring a great defensive presence to whatever team they're on, but, if they don't have other people on the team that can score, 9 times out of 10, they'll end up losing. In my opinion, an MVP is someone who is great on both sides of the ball.

I lived by that, and it got me knocked out of the playoffs in the 1st round, 2 years in a row, and then not even making the playoffs in the 3rd year. Defense is an important part of the game, and certainly having a player like Mutu or Rolo is gonna be a huge help to the team. I'm just saying that I don't see those guys as MVP's. A big part of being a dominant defensive player, is actually being able to put the ball in the hoop. You look at the guys who have won MVP awards in the NBA, they were guys that put everything together. Scoring, rebounding, blocking, steals, these are the skills that an MVP needs.

Why  you think I been singing the praises of Mason Griffin ... yeah I know he got held down some in the last game , but his numbers have been great in all these categories.

You know you don't get any brownie points from Apollo by mentioning him in the OOC chat right? You had a better team over all with the MVP Scott Cunningham and Bobby Chang.  That's why your team went farther than my team. But look at what players average when they dont face Mutu versus what they do. That's how you measure the man's defense
