Reigns wasn't unsettled either.

"Asuka, gives you two thumbs up"

Reya, at some point you should talk to your players, starting with the Captain.  Just a helpful FYI.

It's been coming across to me that it doesn't appear that they have any issues to discuss.  That's why I haven't spoken to them.  Granted I suppose they could have issues they'd rather bring to me as opposed to letting the coach in on, but I only thought of that just now when you brought it up lol

Sometimes issues only exist if you go looking for them. My approach has always been less is more.

Plus I figured if there was an issue that the coach would let me know, which so far there haven't been either because there are none or because he isn't aware of any that may be there.

True less is more.....but a check in with your Captain is a MUST.  I think everyone will agree with that.

But, it is up to you.  I'm sitting here with a <.500 win percentage, so what do I know.  See what Dorling or Hondo says about it, and do what they say, lol.

Reya Serra

I haven't done that since taking over the team so it might be a good thing to do so, but it might also be viewed negatively as I haven't done it since taking over lol

In any case, as I haven't locked in yet I've left it open to speak to him if I choose to do so which I would figure that most would agree that I should.

I tend to think it'll work out for you alright either way.  You'll get a little more slack than the rest of us due to the unique nature of your entry into the game.

Reya Serra

This is true, plus the kind nature that comes across from me tends to not ruffle as many feathers as someone that's more rough and direct.

Ty

I remember someone didn't so checkins and was accused of not caring for team in press conference

Reya Serra

I've still been checking in with the coach.  I just hadn't been checking in with the players directly which will most likely be happening more often.  :)

GM Franchise

I think  that was Triple B that did that, Ty.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Mike Powers

Yeah, it was B.  They called him an "enigma wrapped in a riddle" or something like that, lol.

Check in with one player per week unless something comes to your attention through general news or press conferences. For example, Shack is my news right now so I'm keep tabs on that, and Bryan Carty was brought up in the press conference so I spoke to my assistant coach this week.

New players are good to talk to, but ease them in. I have 5 new guys so I plan on talking to them one at a time over the coming weeks. Early and late in the season I also find it helps to do a little speech here and there to address the whole team together.

Bone is right that less is more but don't take it too far. Communicate with your players and listen to your coach - but keep it simple. Most of the mistakes people make are from over thinking every little thing.

You do well - say well done.

You don't do well - ask the players if they're ok. Only be a dick if your players are being dicks.
