Thanks Ian. Remember everyone, because people forgot about this last season, if your player wants to resign, it'll say yes, if he's not, it says no, if they're unsure, it says undecided.

So if it says no, don't try to resign them during the season.

Also, preferred doesn't mean only guys.

I barely got one free agent last season with more having some sort of a preference for coming to Virginia.  He was one of the preferred ones, but every time I tried to go anywhere near anyone else it was a no go.  I'm not expecting any different this time around.

You only went after one though Reya, you can't be complaining when you only went after one. You asked your coach about the orphans and bad awful bench players, but you didn't ask the agent. You didn't go after players that were interested in you outside of Peters nor any others but you admitted you needed players. Pittsburgh wasn't on Bael's interested teams, but he signed anyways.

The one free agent I got last year, I don't think he had Providence as a preferred destination (can't remember). Some of them might be more inclined to go with preferred (see James Grant with Kentucky), might just depend who you ask.

The coach discouraged me from going after them so I didn't talk to the agent, then who I wanted to go after next was already to the SL by the time I got to them.    The players that were interested aside from Peters (Weeter is the only other one I recall off the top of my head) were fairly awful themselves.  I stopped going after players when it became apparent that all of the ones left were either terribly awful or had gone to another team either FBL or SL.

I'm sure I'll look when it gets to that time assuming I still have a job, but as I said I'm not expecting anything different this time around.

It has the most effect on people who haven't decided whether to re-sign yet, but as a general rule the stronger a team's performances, the more attractive it is as a destination to players.

And just cause they're willing to re-sign doesn't mean they can't have their heads turned by a good offer from a good team.

Preferred destinations, however, tend to come less costly and with less aggro from agents.
