Well nobody is the GM of New Mexico, so maybe Ian will do the FAing for them. Who knows.

Then we all question the nobility of Ian. I mean I know Vegas got Roberts when it had Shack for whatever reason and another owner signed someone that same season and last year San Diego signed Merc so I know it happens, but those were sort of examples of the rich getting richer as at the time the Seagulls had Cam, Petri and Reed on the roster already.

OK, somehow, someway I've manage to get waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of touch.  Not reading OOC for a week or so (whenever my results went live to now).....

Are we having to do protections now?  And what's all this about declaring who we're targeting for Free Agency and such? 

Didn't mean to get this far behind, but like I said earlier not knowing my net situation kind of had me down and out mentally.

I think most are doing protections now due to the upcoming FA as well as to perhaps speed things along.  As for your other question...

No, he's been asking for either a pat on the back, a pat on the front (which I made to be a pat on the shoulder) or a hug.  I figured he'd ask for at least the hug again considering we won both games and are still undefeated or would want something else so I thought I'd just cut to the chase in asking and then move on.

Yes to protections

The declaring was known prior, but you've been in and out. You state which FAs you want and then find out if they want to hear from you in the FCD thread then go from there

I've figured it out. 

Last month was tough, mentally on me.  But that's mostly dealt with atm.  Last week was busy although not mentally tough as we had a HUGE funeral for my Great Aunt (Huge as in number of people, they had to turn people away at the church).  Then Saturday my... I'll say cousin as that's the closest relation you could call it (Her Mom and my Mom are cousins) had a Memorial for her Son (who died in a car wreck last year) to kick off Fair, and I ended up helping extremely last second.  We ended up serving over 600 Sloppy Joes though, so it was all good.

Question for everyone interested in half a dozen (or more) free agents. Aren't you afraid that, after sending in all these offers to Ian, too many FA's choose you? Then you'd end up with a 10 person, $100 million dollar roster.

In my case, I'm just expressing interest and not putting all of my FA eggs into one basket.  Odds are half of those at least won't even be interested in me and what with what little I have to offer I feel I'm only likely to land one FA if I land one at all.

Best case scenario for me is I land 2 of those guys at the right positions without going over the cap and have my roster filled before the draft.

Worst case I miss out on all of them and I still have 2 draft picks to fall back on to fill my 2 remaining spots.

And if I end up with more players than I have available cap for, odds are another team's going to need a player so clearly there'd be some trading done if that were to happen.
