it might just be the shock of just coming out of the surgery to have the Dr basically say, "yeah the infection you have might just kill you, good day."

I am not gone, just very busy with work because of the holidays...which in turn gives me limited time for everything else...

Kirk

This probably won't go down very well but I have to try anyway.

Ian, I love this game and it quickly became my favourite thing on the boards after I started playing but (you knew a but was coming) I think the coach interactions are starting to get out of hand and are making it more of a chore than it needs to be. I think many of the coaches have been completely absorbed by their characters and no longer make any effort to answer the questions we are required to put to them or make any meaningful contribution to the game. It's not such a problem in my thread but I have noticed it in others and seen the frustration that is starting to boil over. I'm referring to coaches talking about dreams and balls instead of answering reasonable questions. Those parts are amusing and make the game as entertaining as it is, but I think that they need to be paired with some sort of answer or usable response as well. This is meant to be constructive criticism and I mean no offense by it.

I'm inclined to agree, though I don't have as wide a frame of reference as some of you do. I'm often frustrated by Ray Johnson, and that's solely based on the fact that I don't feel I get a ton of new or useful information from him but am obligated to spend a lot of time futilely trying. I'm sure it would be far worse if he was not only useless, but antagonizing as well.

Like Kirk said, no disrespect intended. Ian runs the game well, and I'm totally fine with him running the coaches how he likes, but if we're speaking up for managers in worse off positions than ourselves... yeah, there are a few where it seems a bit extreme.

Jennifer

that kind of silliness generally originates from either a mistake or the coach already sucking though...

If the Coach has a good rating and or relationship with the GM, the better advice/answers you get. You have a shit/new/past shit coach the worse its going to be, as well your overall rep I assume helps dictate the responses.

I imagine its going to be a season or two before Franchise gets some useful advice, hell took me a season or two as well.

Davies is a good coach.

Gates has an alright rep (he's loyal, hasn't been fired nor had crazy shit that has cost him a season)

As far as the balls thing I personally don't care, I'm handling that shit soon.

The TeeJ of Philly

I totally would fat shame the hell outta Davis Newton when he said "I am a big star, did you see this ring?"

"No, all I see is a fat, sad sack of shit in my office. What it's doing here is beyond me. I asked to see an important player of this team and I got this. Now, fat sack of shit, if you see Davis Newton, let him know I'd like to talk to him soon."

Totally should fat shame him next time Jen.

Kirk

I do think you're going to have to be tougher on him. He's clearly not responding to the motivational approach.

Reya Serra

Send him to fat camp.

Or alternatively inject a turkey with gasoline and watch him eat it.

On a related note, I'm immensely glad that I don't have to deal with him anymore.

Hey guys, good to be back underway. When are people allowed to throw their names into the hat for the Jacksonville and Texas jobs? I have a friend that wants to try the game out, and while I'm sure a bunch of people will be vying for the Stallions position I want to make sure I can keep him posted so he can get in somewhere for next season.

Thanks.

Word, homie. He just registered. It was hilarious watching him struggle through the wrestling themed questions to create his account and then when I finally gave him the answers,  misspell names like "Sean Michaels" and get rejected.

With the recent format change, we might want to look into changing that?
