Well, I have been working on the sim and was going to fast forward a few years, say there was a lock out of sorts after this current season ended... so it wouldn't be a straight continuation.  All past stuff would be canon but there would be some wrinkles added, with us starting in the off-season to retain your talent after the lock out, most players would want to stay where they were but would need new deals to fix the market etc.
