He denied reports that he was going to TNA over the weekend. However with his contract expiring today that was probably just Foley avoiding any problems legal problems he might have incurred if he'd acknowledged had he said anything whilst still under contract with the WWE. Because he can't actually sign the contract before today.

TaNK

Its Sept 3, 2008..

It official like a referee's whistle he said it himself today he has agreed to a short term deal with the company. I think he did this so that he can still spend time with his kids and work doing what he loves not just autograph sessions. I think if done right this may and should work out good for both parties.

Black Death

on the mic,  may the new head guy in charge ....the commish thing... Cornvette spot ,  he was funny as the GM of RAW.   helping with booking storyline .  that where he can excel at... he does not need to get in the ring.

There is a lot of talk about Foley not being as good as he was in the ring, my question is when was Foley ever great in the ring? He was average and okay at best, but he can cut one hell of a promo and thats what besides the hardcore stuff he is known for. I wouldn't mind see Foley in the ring ever so often as I do like some of the stuff he does as of late. The Edge match and the Orton match as of late would be too that come to mind. I wouldn't mind seeing maybe a Foley vs Joe or Foley vs AJ match if done right. I really don't want to see him come in and go for the world title but yet help give some of these guys their co-star, one that can help make the "movie" a whole lot better.

Here is Foley's official statement released today:

"As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. I will always be grateful to WWE for affording me so many incredible opportunities over the past thirteen years, but feel the time is right to pursue other endeavors.

"This move frees me up to participate in more film, television and voice roles, autograph sessions, speaking engagements, volunteer work, and will allow me the time to start work on a third novel, a fourth wrestling memoir and a new children’s story.

"Over the next few weeks I will be working with my management team at Braverman/Bloom Co., Inc. in pursuing a couple of unique investment opportunities.

"I can confirm I have had discussions with TNA Wrestling and have come to a short-term agreement. I am very excited about the specifics of this agreement and the potential it holds."

Peace
