System Restore

Okay, so apparently installing AIM was a bad move on my part.

I'm trying to do a system restore, but there's a disk error, probably because of something AIM did. Do I need to restore my computer to its original factory settings?

Windows logs me onto a temporary profile, and I can't find the program to uninstall. If I DO have to do this form of restore, can I reinstall Microsoft Office without a problem?
