Well firstly, you get some free scouting reports (as elaborated on in "The Dirt Sheet"). If you wish to scout beyond that, then you have the option to do so (as discussed in "How TCW Works"). There are different levels of scouting:

- Different types of scouting are available.  Please select one, and only one, of the following:
  ~Watching tape (your trainers watch film on the wrestler, and give an impression based on what they see) - $500K
  ~Live scouting (your trainers will observe the wrestler in person, gaining a much better impression of their skill) - $1 million
  ~Private workout (your trainers will have a 1 on 1 workout, gaining the BEST knowledge about their skill/potential) -$2 million

I just went down the list and if I liked the sound of the character I scouted him. I priortized certain ones for my free scouting reports (since they will be objectively better), but then I kept scouting to ensure I got a full picture of what I wanted. I might have gone over board (scouting 24 guys for 8 roster spots) though...

The wording implies we are paying these amounts to scout particular wrestlers however the post in the confirmed thread implies certain clubs are proclaiming x amount of money for scouting reports but not saying a particular wrestlers name.

I am new so I was waiting for a list of wrestlers and was waiting to pick whoever I wanted scouted but it appears that is not the way it is done.

So I was simply trying to find out information and strategy from VETS to this type of game.

Anyways now my question is do we pick certain wrestlers to scout and send a PM to you Powers with who we want to scout and how we want to scout them and then place the total dollar amount in the confirmed deal thread.

Looks like you got it. Basically we don't want everyone else to see whom we're scouting, so we PM Mike with the names and just confirm what was spent (free reports, money).

As for me, I picked 15 guys and watched tape on all of them. I figured getting a wide view of the wrestler list was a good strategy for me.

Yeah, I guess I misunderstood your original question a bit Midas.

Yes, you send me a list of names you wish to scout, along with the type of scouting you wish to perform. Then you just submit the financial piece in the confirmed deals thread, and you're good to go.

Do we need to FCD the free ones or just the ones we spend money on?

As a general rule, when spending money submit the deal. If it's free, you don't have to submit anything.

Sorry for my absence today gents. Impromptu trip with the wife to the casino. Good news is, we won a nice chunk of change (enough so that when we submit/pay our taxes, it's all covered by the win!). Will work on scouting tomorrow/today (Tuesday).

About half of the free scouting reports have been written and sent out.  If you haven't received your free scouting, you'll likely receive it tomorrow.  Once I get that done, I will start on the scouting submitted from your budgets.


As an FYI, I will give a "24 hours notice" to get in any last minute scouting.  Any scouting submitted after that 24 hours will wait until after the draft.  Around that same time I will announce the time/date that the draft goes live.

I am currently at work, without access to my Assistant Trainer notes, so I can't get started on those until I get home.  Will get those out as soon as possible.
