My mom wants one and her birthday is next month.

My question is which would be better? She loves getting online and doing facebook and what not, and I know IPad2 is ridiculous priced. So Nook or Kindle?

Ipad3 is probably getting announced March 5th, so Ipad2 and Ipad 1 (your mom probably won't notice the difference between the two) will get lower in prices.

I've messed around with a Kindle Fire, and it seems pretty good.  My fiancee has a regular Kindle and loves it, but I don't know how the Fire does with web browsing and stuff.  I'd imagine it works pretty well.

But I'm an Apple guy, I have to say.  If I were you, I'd wait to see the price drops on the iPad 1 & 2, like Gary said.  Or maybe check out Apple's refurbished products?  My fiancee got her iPod touch as a refurbished one and there's really no difference that we can tell.
