Good man Tezza!!  Which one did you go for?

Anyone else got any feedback on last week's shows?  We'll be recording tonight so if you've got any feedback, now is the time to get it to us.  You can either leave it here or email us mfx.show@gmail.com

Thanks,

MFX68 - The IMPACT Edition is up!!

It's your first shot of MFX goodness of the week and we've got a cracking show for you.

We review Beyond the Mat which is a ton of fun.  We also review TNA IMPACT, which wasn't as much fun.  Still, when you can drop in references to 80s computer games, it can't be all bad.

Check out the podcast page for more details on the show:

Thanks and enjoy the show!

Listening right now. Will leave feedback tomorrow, but here's the thing New Jack was in recently (a sketch for The Daily Show on Comedy Central):

The Daily Show, of course!  Thanks Alex.

Hope everyone is enjoying the show and that the review of Beyond the Mat is bringing back some memories.

We'll have your all feedback, emails, a quick WWE movie review, Total Divas and RAW reviews on the second show, which will be posted on Friday.

Thanks for listening folks.  This show is a real passion of mine and Ian and we hope that comes across every week!

Cheers,
Duckman

It's not quite the ear-worm that the Try-Hard Ruler and E-mail jingles are, but I think the new Impact jingle is starting to win me over. I'll admit I wasn't the biggest fan of it at first, but, like anyone over the age of 30 I fear change. That and 'Long Necks & Rednecks' is a damn tough act to follow.

Of course, that being said, loving the new format. I wouldn't call them 'bite-size' chunks by any means, but two 2-hour podcasts are much easier to find the time to listen to than one 4+ hour behemoth. Even if the TNA one seems to turn into 30 minutes of Impact review and 1 1/2 hours plus of random tangents, skits and other good stuff (which is fine since nobody cares about TNA anyway).

And before I go, loved the Matt the Mat skit from the Raw show. That was brilliant stuff.

Oh, and you probably shouldn't have Rybitch help Brick with security. You know he's just gonna fuck it up somehow

I hammered The Pink Ranger...  I never thought I would be so sad to say that.....

Becoming a super beast with a tendency for high octane flying shits...its a lifestyle choice.

I got the shirt today, so much better than the estimated DOA of Monday, whenever I have the oppertunity I'll try and get a pic of me wearing it, might be awhile though.

MFX68 - The RAW Edition is up!

It's time for your second shot of MFX goodness of the week.  This time we're back with a review of The Marine 3 - starring the Miz, Total Divas chat, your feedback and our usual review of RAW.

Check the podcast page for full details on the show:

This show was a nightmare to record due to technical problems.  We're also off on holiday for two weeks.  So be sure to get your last fix of MFX for a fortnight.

Thanks and enjoy the show!

Well... That was definitely, interesting. I don't want to give you bad feedback, so I won't give you any at all. Enjoy your vacation! ;)

We were both disappointed with the outcome of it. Trying to get the recording to work for near on 3 hours was painful enough without dip outs and basically the pair of us being exhausted. I feel it was our worst show ever...and seeing as Sam and I pride ourselves on talking about the worst shows ever it wasnt a high note to end us on for a few weeks.

Still we will be back!

Hey a bad show is bound to happen once in a while, you guys did sound very disheartened at the beginning and it was noticeable that it took a little longer for you guys to start enjoying yourselves. There were some LOL moments, like John Cena's list of who to tell about his elbow and Tyson Kidd's "hey Nattie..."

I'm actually not sure this was a 'bad' show so to speak.  But it certainly didn't have a good energy or flow to it.  That's what happens when you have to sit for over 2 hours trying to sort out recording software and in the process one half of the show gets ill and has to be put down.

On another note, how did you guys find the sound quality of this show?  Did you notice a difference between this one and the IMPACT show?

Just deciding if I want to stick with the new recording software I got, or have a look for something else before the next show.

Cheers,
Duckman

To be be honest, I didn't notice much of a difference audio wise. Not until the end, but that's to do with Ian having to use an iPod. Wasn't all that that terrible, either. Audio wise, it seemed to be fine.

Just out of curiosity, what software did you end up using for this show?

Ended up using one suggested by someone here - OneNote.  I'm just deciding on whether or not to buy the pro version as the trial only lasts 14 days.

Only issues I've got with it, compared to Pamela Pro, is that it only records in one mono track, as opposed to two seperate stereo tracks.  I like the two seperate tracks because it allows me to fix any lags on the Skype call, which can happen.

The second one is it only records the skype call in 24bits, which is pretty poor quality.  I exported it at 40 and hopefully that made up for the poor quality of the actual call.

That said, it's incredibly easy to use and isn't that expensive to get the pro version.
