ATTENTION! My name is Sergeant Major Dale. You can call me Major Dale, or Sir. I'm an army man through and through, dedicating over 30 years of my life to the cause. Now, having saved every dime I ever earned, I have a Militia to call my own. Do you have what it takes to lead my troops?

You have the knowledge and the discipline, eh? I noticed you introduced yourself as 'Justin'. No rank. Did you serve anywhere? Judging by your posture, I'd venture a guess and say you haven't. STAND UP STRAIGHT WHEN WE'RE TALKING SON!

I SAID STAND UP STRAIGHT WHEN WE'RE TALKING SON!

Those are some strong words. What is it about you that makes you think you can be a leader of men? What's your experience?

My role in the corporate world was to lead a team to success. Ive been in charge of millions of dollars worth of funds and for a man who has put his life's savings into this venture I am sure you can appreciate that.  I know how to maximize value and profit and promise that you won't be disappointed by your return on investment.

First of all, what is it going to take for you to STAND UP STRAIGHT MR. JUSTIN!?! STAND AT ATTENTION MAN!!

Secondly, you've finally said something that interests me.  I've scrimped and saved my entire life in order to start this Militia.  Having a man that won't waste my money, and cause it to fail before it gets started, is of keen interest to me.  Tell me, how will you build my Militia?

MAJOR DALE RETURNS THE SALUTE OF SGT. UNDERPANTS

Sgt Underpants, it is most certainly a pleasure to meet you.  Tell me, what branch of the service were you in? Army? Marines? Don't tell me you're a Navy man?

I am a proud member of the United States Air Force sir. The perfect combination of brains and brawn and that's what a good militia needs a strong leader who knows not just how to beat an enemy down but the most effective way to do it. I promise you I'll create a militia focused on speed and power that also has the brains to defeat all who oppose them.

***Justin stands straight up***

Ive been a scrapper all my life so I prefer brawlers. We would be based out of Miami...a mid size city but has the wow factor to attract big time talent.

Ahh, a 'Fly Boy'!  Not exactly what I wanted....I'm kind of partial to the grunts on the ground....but it's better than someone who hasn't served!  How long were you in?  See any combat?

*****

Finally Mr. Justin, it looks like you have a spine in your back!  It suits you, you should endeavor to maintain proper posture!

Now, regarding your ideas for the Militia.  Miami is an interesting choice.  Tactically, it provides a lure to talent, but at the same time the night life there could be a distraction.  You'd need to draft individuals with character.  Are you a good judge of character son?

I handled millions of dollars in my other job. Finding people of high character was a top priority.

8 years sir. Did 3 years in Kuwait 3 years in Iraq and spent 2 years at Rammstein.  I might have been a ground pounder but I can assure you I'm no less dangerous than they are. I held my own going blue to green while in Kuwait.

Ooc: for reference blue to green was a practice of airmen being cross trained and transitioned over to serve in the army

Alright Mr. Justin.  I'll admit, you started out a bit rough in my eyes, but you began to redeem yourself at the end of the interview.  I've asked all the questions that I need to at this time.  Is there anything else you want to say to me before we finish?

Also, I think it is fair to inform you that I'll be holding interviews all week.  I will take no offense to you interviewing with another club, so long as you are honorable and tell me of your intentions here and now.

Impressive resume Sgt.  Impressive indeed.  What would be your vision for this Militia, if I were to name you the Staff Sergeant for this deployment?

Title: Re: The Militia
Post by: Sgt. Josh Underpants on February 26, 2015, 06:06:07 PM
My vision is simple we bring ourselves in to a mid level market to get true Americans. I'm thinking something like the true example of America. Washington DC itself. As far as talent goes I'm looking to run the gambit across all weight classes and bring in the best fighters and flyers available.

Sgt. Underpants, both are fine ideas.  A balanced attack, centered at the heart of the nation.  You sir, are a man with vision.

I have no more questions for you at this time.  If there are any final words you'd like to leave me with before you go, I'll be glad to hear them now.  Further, I think it is fair to inform you that I'll be holding interviews all week.  I will take no offense to you interviewing with another club, so long as you are honorable and tell me of your intentions here and now.

Private Bailey, reporting for duty sir!

PRIVATE BAILEY SALUTES

I've contacted my sources in DC, and here is their report sir.  There is a 5,000 seat facility in an industrial area at a cost of $3 million per season.  There is also a 7,000 seat facility near the Virginia state line at a cost of $5 million per season.

The cost of this will come out of the "incentives" budget sir!

Title: Re: The Militia
Post by: Sgt. Josh Underpants on March 02, 2015, 01:27:48 AM
While the industrial district would before cost effective, we need better exposure and I'm sure we'll be able to do that on the state line.

I'll file the paperwork to make it effective here. Thank you for your assistance I will contact you once it's time to start the coaching hunt.

You are dismissed Prvt. Bailey

Mr. Corwin were looking for a head trainer here in the Militia and we need someone with field experience and you have the most of all the candidates so naturally we feel like you are the correct first step for us. Tell me Mr. Corwin if we bring you on as a head trainer what will you bring to the table?

During my career, I employed an all out blitz attack to start my matches, effectively never letting my opponents get comfortable.  If you smother them within the first few seconds of the fight, more than likely you're going to come out on top.  And when it comes to taking orders, I understand my place on the totem pole.

Speed moreso than aerial, but as we both know, in the wrestling ring the two go hand in hand quite frequently. And I can take orders with the best of them.

I did my residency at Mount Sinai hospital.  I got a job there shortly thereafter, as a hospitalist.  Basically, that means I'm the primary care doctor to patients admitted to the hospital.  I've run the gamut of experience from broken bones, to heart attacks, to viral illnesses.

I was looking at possibly getting ourselves an Eagle or a Falcon if an Eagle isn't available. I feel both of them really emphasize our idea of speed and power combined along with the obvious patriotic image it will give us. Especially after hearing that those Brits over on the West Coast a wimpy little bulldog and are cementing themselves as clearly anti American.  This will be a great way for us to really make a statement before the season officially starts

An eagle is a fine idea son.  They're just not as easy to get as an ugly dog from the nearest shelter.  What I'm getting at is, it may cost us a little cash.  You're in charge of that, so I trust your judgment.  Private Bailey will assist you if you decide to move forward.

Pleasure to meet you Porter, I've heard some great stuff about you and was honestly shocked you had not been picked yet. But it would appear luck was on my side here now and I want to offer you a great opportunity.

4 years at 4 million dollars

I gotta say, I'm shocked too.  I expected to be drafted by my brother-in-law's squad, but here we are.  This is a completely new business to me, so I'm not sure I want that long of a commitment.  2 years?

While it is unfortunate someone else's screw up is costing everyone more money, after meeting with Mr. USA I can agree he is worth the money. You have yourself a deal Mr. Morse.

Private, lets get Ms. Solis on the line.

Melissa I figured id call you and beat you to the punch here. I've heard about the chaos gm Justin has caused and the new price increase for 1st and 2nd rounders so I'd like to offer Morgan an additional 1 mil on his contract to make it 6 mil and 1 mil pr for 4 years. How does that sound?

Projected Line up
Main- Event: Mr. USA
Semi- Main Event: Marshall Cutter
Tag Team 1: Morgan Jones
Tag Team 2: Denzel Jones
Opener: Lamar Nash
Woman: Michelle Zimmerman
Bench: Porter
Sparring: Angel

Captain: Mr. USA

PR

Mr. USA

As requested by Mr. USA we want to have a video package focusing on the greatness that is America.  We'l have America the Beautiful playing in the background as we highlight various landmarks across the US i.e. Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and The White House.  Add in some others to fill in.  We want to intermix the shots of the Landmarks with  various historical images, must include (Washington crossing the Delaware, the signing of the Declaration, and Lincoln at Gettysburg.)

Angel

Angel is still young and has a way to go to become a top star, but we want to get the fans ready for when she does make appearances.  She will be dubbed our "Angel in the wings"  We'll show some clips of her in the training facility before finishing with her looking out over the rest of the team with a halo over her head.

Morgan Jones

Now we know Morgan is the bigger daredevil of the duo so we want to highlight that.  First we'll start off with a voice over to introduce him as one half of the Brothers In Arms to officially give the tag team a name that fits us here.  Let's get some old clips of him in action to show off his daredevil side to the crowd.  Find me Morgan's best spot and we'll end with a sound byte from Denzel saying "Did you see that shit?"

Denzel Jones

First we'll start off with a voice over to introduce him as one half of the Brothers In Arms to officially give the tag team a name that fits us here.  With Denzel we're going to play his video a little bit slower, focus in on his technical aspect and show him methodically wearing down his opponents.  Same with Morgan we're gonna find Denzel's best spot and end with a sound byte from Morgan "That fool got dropped."

Marshall Cutter

We want to push Marshall as a street style fighter.  He's got a mean look to him and it will do us a lot of good to use that intimidation factor.  We'll have him head out to the streets and find some local up and comers willing to take a Cutter from him in some staged fights.  We're also going to give him his own catchphrase. "Step up Get Cut"

1 Mil team PR

I also want to throw in a team PR campaign here to be played every week before the show starts.  We're going to use Rage Against The Machines song Guerilla Radio in the background.  We're going to have an image of the US with the picture of each of our recruits over their hometowns as we flash through each of them we'll show a clip of them hitting their finisher before having their picture moved to Washington DC. End with THE WAR IS ON over the image of our roster.

Training
Angel: Brawling and Technical Skills
Porter: Technical Skills

Lock in

The team is back from training camp.  Here's a few notes for you:

~ Morgan and Denzel Jones insisted on bunk beds during camp.  Morgan pushed Denzel off the top bunk in the night, and Denzel had a shiner for a few days.
~ Mr. USA feels very motivated to represent the Militia, and the armed forces by proxy.
~ Porter wonders why you drafted him away from his brother-in-laws team, only to put him on the bench.
~ Marshall Cutter tried introducing himself to the team, but after a 5 minutes rant which included reciting the lyrics to "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees, everyone just steered clear of him.

The trainers are putting together the team sheet for you.  Once I get it to you, you'll be expected to put out a press release before speaking to your Head Trainer.

Team's not too bad boss. If I were making the calls on the lineup, I'd bump Nash up to the semi-main slot. I don't know if that'll have an effect on morale or anything, that's not my department. I just know that he's got the talent for it.

Thank you Cutter no more staging you're a true fighter and we need to acknowledge that.

Now we come to the deeper reason I called you up here. As you know this is a team sport and a unit and as a unit we need to have our pieces where they will be the strongest. That being said following the results and feedback I have received from camp I have decided that for the time being we are going to be moving you to our opening spot.  It is not a permanent move as everyone here will have a chance to move up depending on their performances.

So Cutter your mission is to take the opening spot and not only lay waste to the rest of the openers across the league but make a statement that can justify me moving you higher up the card

Lamar, I wanted to say thank you for all your hard work during training camp and that didn't go unnoticed. That said after discussions with our head trainer we have decided that you are better suited for the semi main event spot. I'm sure you'll go out there and do the militia proud.

That's what I like to hear. Can't wait for you to show the rest of the teams what happens when they step up to the militia.  Go on ahead back to training.

Private lets get Porter up here please.

Porter good to see you again. Now I understand questions as to why I signed you only to have you on the bench. I wanted to answer that personally here and now. I brought you on because I believe we are the best place for you to learn the craft and to become a true force. If you had been brought to your brothers team GM Pancho would have treated you as nothing more than a gimmick. You might be on the bench for now, but things can change and the bench isn't a bad place to be either. You are our wild card and our equalizer. Everyone in the militia has an important part to play and you are no different.

She doesn't listen too well boss.  I don't think the talent, or even the potential, is there.  We may need to look at cutting ties with her at some point, but that's just my opinion.

Press release from the desk of Capt Josh

As the first shots of war were fired and the first battle was waged The Militia has unfortunately taken a minor set back in our battle against The Wildcats.  This week the war comes in to our front door as The Devils prepare to find out what happens when you step into an active war zone. The Militia has also suffered a minor setback due to the injured Cutter. He is by no means out of action but our doctor will be checking him out and we will be assessing our best option. The Devils however have suffered a worse casualty as they're little dream Frightmare has allowed his mind to break already and is a sign of a weakened enemy. A weakness we  will exploit. Tune in this week to see The Militia do battle against The Devils in an all out fight for glory.

Private lets get Spike in here please.

Spike it was a close one this week and we definitely fought hard out there. Based on what you saw do you have suggestions for way to improve or any adjustments we should make?

It was real close out there, I liked what I saw from our guys.  We just fell in a hole early, and it was too hard to climb back out of.  I'll tell you, I was most impressed by the Jones Boys.  They really showed me something that I hadn't seen from them in camp.

I wouldn't go changing anything right now boss.  It's too early to panic, it was just one week.

That's great too hear Spike. I do have a few other concerns I'd like to discuss.
First what are your thoughts on Angel?  I know Lisa was concerned about her not having any real potential would you think it could benefit us to cut ties and try to find someone else with a little more desire to spar with?
Second before I speak to the doc have you spoken with Cutter about his ribs?  If so did he give you anything intelligible?

Angel is a real....excitable girl.  Other than being nice to look at, I don't see too much talent there boss, if I'm being totally honest.

I went and saw Cutter in the ER while they were patching him up.  I didn't get to speak to him, he was pretty busy with the doctors.  He was gasping for breath pretty good, but once they got him taped up, he was more himself...that is to say, he was reciting the President's monologue from 'Independence Day' to anyone that would listen.

So his brain is "normal" but body might not be the best it sounds. Thanks for the honesty Spik Im gonna look in to some possible options in regards to Angel. I'll speak to you once I'm ready to lock in. Thank you again.

Private I'm looking in to some possible replacements for Angel as I feel her desire and ability isn't what I need and could hurt our team. What I'm wondering here is how you old feel about making some extra money and joining the team as the team sparring partner and backup for Michelle if need be. I'm not sure if it's something that's allowed but I feel you'd be a better fit and you've already had the chance to meet the team and would be an easier transition.

That's perfectly fine and thank you Private. So now to plan B cause every good leader has one. Private what I need from you is to get together with Spike and Lisa to head out in to the heart of DC to find me someone ( preferably female) who would be interested in joining us as a sparring partner on a 1 million dollar contract and a 500k signing bonus. But before that happens how much would that cost to do?

Sir, for an exhaustive, yet speedy search of the DC area, it would take $1 million in PR.  Although I could not guarantee what they would sign for, as that is your department, sir!

Dismissed Private.

Cutter has a hairline fracture of his 4th and 5th rib on the right side.  Ideally he'd sit out for a week to give it time to heal.  He CAN compete this week, but he'd risk damaging the ribs even further.

First off I want to say thank you to both of you ladies for coming in. Now before I speak to you each individually I want to be up front of what's going on. What I'm looking for at this time is someone to spar with the team in between events. There is a chance you could be moved up to full competition if we need you. At this time the most I could offer is a contract of 1 million with a signing bonus to be decided after I speak with you. The amount of time you wish to work here will also be something to be discussed after. After hearing what I'm looking for and what pay were looking at, are ladies still interested in the position?

Good to hear. At this time I'd like to speak to each of you individually. Helena if you could wait outside I'd like to speak to Jynx first.

/me waits for Helena to leave

Jynx I have a few questions to get to know you and how you'll fit here.

1. what sort of background do you have in a combat based situation?
2. Are you someone who is able to follow orders and do what's best for the unit?
3. What is it that you bring to the table that makes you the better option?
4. Finally, if hired how long would you be looking to stay?

Thank you for waiting Helena, I'd like to ask you a few questions to help me come to a decision.

1. what sort of background do you have in a combat based situation?
2. Are you someone who is able to follow orders and do what's best for the unit?
3. What is it that you bring to the table that makes you the better option?

1 - I've been in many situations where I've needed to dodge dangerous things that were headed towards my face.  I think I've developed an impressive bit of agility!
2 - I've made a life out of my ability to do everything I'm told, no questions asked.
3 - I'm used to being in high pressure situations.  Sometimes, with the clock winding down for the day, it seems like relief is a million miles away.  But I always manage to to reach the climax of the situation just in the nick of time.
4 - As long as you need my services.

Press release from the desk of Sgt. Underpants

Another hard blow has been struck here in D.C as we fell victim to The Devils both in the record books and in the injury received by Mr. USA. While his injury is a setback we will never surrender and will show our will and power as we go toe to toe with the PFC and show them what happens when you end up in the sights of the militia. It's time for our team to show everyone what it means to truly support the team from all ends something I think Presidents Justin and Death need to do before they have a mutiny on their teams.

Private lets get Spike in here please.

Spike another close week but unfortunately another injury to one of our troops. Have you had a chance to check on him yourself?

She's fitting in just fine.  I wouldn't be opposed to her getting in the ring for us so that we can see what she's got.  She's doing well during training, but you and I both know that the pressure of a real match are different.

Definitely something I'll look in to doing possibly in a few weeks when we take in the Rebellion. I think Sarah over in the PFC would be a little too much pressure for a first match right?  Finally last order of business on my end obviously with Mr. USA out this week Lamar is going to get the go ahead for the Main spot, what would you think about Morgan going singles this week in the 2 spot and having Cutter teaming with Denzel?

Lamar is the obvious choice for the Main Event spot.  I like using Morgan at Semi-Main, and teaming Cutter with Denzel - it'll properly ease Marshall back into the lineup after his injury.  I'm not sure how the twins will take it though.

Well, something has been bothering me lately.  I've generally been more of a conservative guy my whole life, but this Donald Trump thing is ridiculous!  Can you imagine if that fool becomes the President of the United States?!?  Then, you have a guy like Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side who, although I may not agree with a lot of his policy, seems like a genuine guy to root for.  Like I won't have to suffer through the same old DC bullshit.  I'm just so confused about the whole thing.  It's like an existential crisis for me, and I just don't know what to think.

Morgan I wanted to get your feelings on an opportunity here for you. As you know Mr. USA is hurt and will be out of action this week which leaves an opening in our semi main event spot. How would you feel about competing in that spot and having Cutter team with your brother this week?

/me waits for Morgan to leave.

Now first off Denzel, yes what Morgan said is true, I asked for him to move in to the Semi main event spot due to the unfortunate injury bug we have seemed to have here to start off.  That being said this is no way affects your standing here and you will still be wrestling this week, what I'm asking of you is to team with Cutter.  He's coming back off his injury and I think a tag team match will be a better way to get him back in the ring with a lower chance of re-aggrivating his injury.  Is that something you can do for me just for this week?

No he wasn't lying and I'm sorry Denzel he didn't say anything about your pops. I'll let you get back to your training, got a big week coming up.

Private can we get Cutter up here.

Cutter glad to have you back this week. Got some business to discuss with you. It would seem fate has struck this team with another blow and saw fit to strike down one of us. This leaves me with a special request from you, I want you to team with Denzel in our tag team division this week. Does this sound like something you can do for me?

I am the proverbial aloe, gathering divisive timber.  Denzel is a man who must recognize that it is he himself that is the diversification of his own state.  The state of indifference.  The glue holding together the honeycombs of the ether, if you will.  There are times when such a man must gather the freshest of cedars, preparing for the inevitable equinox.  Is he such a man?  Am I?  Cutter.....

I'm sure both of you are ready for the equinox and are just the men we need this week. You go get prepared for the Equinox Cutter.

Private lets get Lamar in here please.

Lamar first I want to say great job in your match against Wade. I was impressed with the show you put on and I'm hoping to see much more of that from you. That being said I have a big mission for you this week. As you know Mr. USA is hurt which means someone has to step up in to the Main Event spot to take on Hawkins and I can't think of a better man than you. Everyone this last week was talking about the match between Hawkins and Nichols I know come next week we're going to be talking about the classic match between you and Hawkins and how you showed everyone the true fighting spirit of the militia. You ready to show everyone why we're the best there is?

Press release from the desk of Sgt Underpants.

Close matchup for us last week. Our guys went out there to try some new roles and I'm damn proud of what they were able to show against the PFC. Morgan definitely showed what he can do on his own and does give me food for thought as the season progresses.  Next week looks to be very interesting based on the news of a new leader in the Rebellion. This change could make the difference in the problems with frustrated talent and make them a more dangerous team.

Spike, another close week. We seem to be just on the verge of taking the match up each week. What are your thoughts on how everyone looked in their match ups

First I want to say great job last week. I know it wasn't the result either of us were looking for, but you looked impressive out there. Secondly, I want to talk to you about what you want to do this week. Obviously with Mr. USA ready for action again him and Lamar will be returning to their regular roles, so if you want to continue to try your hand as a singles competitor I can slot you in to open the show and get us started off with a win or you can return to tagging with your brother. I'm leaving the final choice to you.

Day-um man, that's a hard decision, nam sayin'?  I could do the singles thang, but then I slide down the card.  Or, I can keep my position, but still be stuck in that tag game.

I dunno what ta do man....you gots some advice for me or some shit?

Title: Re: The Militia (Washington DC)

Here's how I see it. You and your brother have a great tag team and you two can be the faces of the tag division if that's what you want. If you want a singles career you do have to pay your dues. You got your first taste last week when we needed you but you're still used to the tag style and I think that's what hurt you. In my opinion if you want to pursue a singles career you need to get used to the change of pace and I think an opening spot would help you along with speaking to Lamar about possibly mentoring you for the future.

Private please have Lamar Nash come upstairs please.

Lamar great to see you again. As always great job last week. I'm gonna cut right to it. You are a prime example of a team player and a constant professional in and out of the ring. That said I have a favor to ask of you. I want to help Morgan get started on a singles career and I feel you would be a perfect person to take him under your wing and help him become the best he can be. Is that something you would be interested in.

I'm glad to hear that. I do have one more thing to discuss with you and know this is in no way a knock on you at all, but as you know Mr. USA is back and ready to fight again. Since he is promoted as our Main Event guy, I would have to give him the nod for the main event again and have you back in the semi spot. Are you cool with that?

Press release from the desk of Sgt. Underpants.

First off I want to say how proud I am of this team, not only did we secure our first victory but our team showed great unity after the match with their celebration. On the flip side we have the terrible actions coming out of the wildcats camp, the attack by Kamikaze was inexcusable but also extremely fishy if you ask me. Now as far as the upcoming week goes, we have one of the strongest teams on paper in The Rockets, but paper can't measure will and heart. We're going to come at them full force and use the steam we have from this week to make a statement.

Spike, awesome job this week with getting our team that first win. What are your thoughts on matchup this coming week?

Morgan and Lamar are getting along well, their mentorship is going well.  Mr. USA would be a great person to mentor Porter, I think that'd go over pretty well.  Michelle on the other hand is a bit....moody.  She probably wouldn't be so good in the role.

Press release from the desk of Sgt. Underpants.

Not a good week here at all. What should have been us showing more signs of unity and picking up a second win was instead a close loss to the Shark Tank and a crack placed in our foundation. As far as the news on Porter is concerned, I have no comments until I speak to him first. Personally I'm a bit concerned with what's going on with the Devils, if they're bringing in prostitutes for their employees I'm wondering what other illegal activities their up to over there. Finally, this week is our first cross division matchup. We might not be doing the best here in our division, but every team here in the Rogers division is better than the jokers over in the Thesz division and I'm calling victory for not only us over the rockets but our whole division is going to walk out victorious.

Spike straight to the big problem here this week. Do you have any idea what happened to Porter?
