Black Death

American Gods is a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman. The novel is a blend of Americana, fantasy, and various strands of ancient and modern mythology, all centering on the mysterious and taciturn Shadow. Several of the themes touched upon in the book were previously glimpsed in The Sandman comic book series.

Shadow is a man with a past. But now he wants nothing more than to live a quiet life with his wife and stay out of trouble. Until he learns that she's been killed in a terrible accident.

Flying home for the funeral, as a violent storm rocks the plane, a strange man in the seat next to him introduces himself. The man calls himself Mr. Wednesday, and he knows more about Shadow than is possible.

He warns Shadow that a far bigger storm is coming. And from that moment on, nothing will ever be the same..

If you not read Neil Gaiman , I high recommend this novel.  Well written story. I remember picking it up on a lurk , I like the cover and I always enjoy Gaiman's Sandman comic book series. So I got it and I could not put the sucker down.  so many great characters in this story.  It going to be a TV series in this fall on starz  staring Ian Mcshane (Deadwood) as Mr. Wednesday.  very excited for this.
