http://www.dban.org/ (http://www.dban.org/) -- Darik's Boot and Nuke has been around for a long time.  It has one purpose - Boot it up and it wipes any attached hard drives.   It won't work on solid state drives (SSD) but for regular harddrives, it should do the job.
