Now what I mean by that is their design was based on real life people and some of these were obvious such as Eggman/Robotnick being based on Teddy Rosevelt, Balrog(M. Bison/Mike Bison in Japan) being based on Mike Tyson and Liu Kang being based on Bruce Lee but others were a interesting little surprise incl;uding the basis of Kratos from God of War, Samus from Metroid and Lara Croft.
