I honestly dont know how Slovakia even have a chance against Netherlands.

Netherlands vs Italy in the final, me thinks.

Slovakia is going to be the Russia (Euros) or this years WC I think.

They have a close nit team full of no-names that I bet after the world cup will get big contracts else where (ala Arshavin(Arsenal), Paveleychenko(spurs), Pongrenybeck(Stuttgart), Zhirkov(Chelsea), and Bilenidikov(Everton)...I know awful spelling.

They killed the group stage getting 22 points, even with a reletivly easy group, still impressive with Poland & Czech Republic being tough world cup regulars.

Plus they have Marek Hamšík...who plays in Italy for Napoli, is an absoulte STUD.....hope Solvaks do well. I also think Serbia is going to be a legit darkhorse.

But ultimately Russia were knocked out by Spain, who by the way beat them twice. Arshavin and Progebnyak were bought because of how they played for Zenit Petersburg. And they still never qualified for this World Cup....


Slovakia will honestly do fuck all... I'd put money on Slovakia being knocked out in the first round...

I think the likes of Messi, Tevez, Aguero & Higuain will have the goals to carry them to the final. Also thinking Brazil & Italy will flop this year, Brazil seem alot less creative under Zico and the majority of Italy's players are on their last legs. Germany have a pretty poor squad in comparison to others but always seem to scrape through to the latter stages, i'm hoping they won't and United States proved in the Confeds that they can be successful agianst the top teams.

I also think Japan can do some damage, they have a very good young team. With the likes of CSKA's Honda who can score phenominal goals

and Morimotto whose playing phenominally in Italy, I think they can turn a few heads.

El Mundo you got a good point about Spain, that squad is God damn solid and damn good. I think they will have the sheer quality to cause some real damage.

I dont think Spain will be able to defend against the other high powered offences.

Thier attack is incredible, but their backline isn't dominating, and to win the world cup you're going to need a bit of both, which is why I think either Germany or Brazil will win, maybe even England if they get an easy draw.

Puyol is class, Ramos is always out of position, Pique is having a brilliant year, but his first world cup, and Capdevilla is nothing special.

England have a shite defense to be honest.... Ferdinand is the best in the world on his good days, but there is a huge full back problem....

True, but Terry is class, as is Ashley Cole if he can get healthy/in form come WC time.

But yeah, Rio has been poor this season, and if Cole is out, wing backs could be a problem.

Terry has been really mediocre playing for England lately... In fact the whole team were a little bit average against Egypt. Has to improve if they're going to think about a good WC run... It was just really sloppy and all over the place. If they can work together without their heads getting too big to a point where they think they're better than their opponents, then they'll do ok
