Besian Idrizaj Dies at 22

A former Liverpool youth who played for Crystal Palace and Luton on loan before moving to Blackburn and Swansea City has been announced dead today. At Liverpool he was considered a highly promised young player and showed glimpses of fantastic potential during his loan spell at Palace despite having played only 7 games. He notoriously accepted a contract from Swansea during a half time interval in a match against Coventry City this season but only managed 3 games.

It had been well publicized at his former clubs that he had problems with fainting and this was one of the reasons why he never managed to achieve the potential everyone was so sure he could.

He unfortunately died this morning at his family home in Austria of a heart attack. My thoughts, along with all of yours I'm sure go to his friends and family. This is a tragic loss for a player so young and promising and really just gutting considering the implications and the fact he was only 22.
