The California State Athletic Commission has suspended and fined Kirill Sidelnikov, who suffered a loss to Paul Buentello at the Jan. 24 "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" event, for failing a drug test.

Sidelnikov, also known as "Baby Fedor," tested positive for the synthetic anabolic steroid Stanozolol. He's been suspended one year and fined $2,500.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the possible failed test earlier this week and contacted the CSAC, which today sent a press release confirming the suspension and fine.

According to CSAC Assistant Executive Officer Bill Douglas, the mere presence of Stanozolol in the system constitutes a violation under the new testing procedures for CSAC.

Sidelnikov, a member of the Russian Red Devil team, suffered a third-round TKO to Buentello at the event. The fight was stopped due to a facial cut suffered by Sidelnikov.

The Buentello vs. Sidelnikov fight took place on the pay-per-view main-card portion of the event, which took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. Sidelnikov (5-3), a longtime M-1 fighter, was making his Affliction debut.

I can see the resemblance to Batista now.

If you're not accusing Fedor of being on roids, then the title is misleading.
