Good afternoon.  I am Sir Charles Winslow III, and I am the owner of The Union Jacks.  I've accumulated significant wealth as a barrister, but I've become a bit bored lately.  Some of my mates put me on to the TCW, and I thought it was a bloody fantastic idea!  I'm looking for a Presi......Prime Minister of this club that shares my pride in my Queen and Country.

I'm Diana Ramsey, Mr. Winslow's personal assistant.  He tells me that I'm to facilitate anything you might require.  God save the Queen!

Hello Sir Charles,

As a fellow patriotic Englishman, I believe I am the man to proudly represent the Union Jacks. We have both a burning desire to show the United Kingdom to be the the toughest and most resilient nation in the world. We once held an empire to be proud of. Together in the TCW we could begin to rebuild that empire.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.

Yes, God Save the Queen indeed! I'm so very happy that a fellow Brit is the first one here. Truth be told, the last Yank we had in my office ran me a cleaning bill through the roof. I couldn't get the smell of grease out of the air! And he was just here trying to sell me a mobile phone!

Anyway, whereabouts are you from, Mr.....?

Mr. Hollands.

I am from the great county of Surrey, England. Sir Charles, I'm sure you will appreciate this is a county full of class, such as yourself. I myself can't stand those grubby Americans either. We must look at recruiting a Non-USA team here. There is a reason they cannot fight a war without our support.

Mr. Hollands, I must say that you're checking off many boxes for me on my list. Tell me, what sort of team would you aim to assemble? Aside from an International one, that is?

I'd like to see mostly technical and brawling heavyweights though they come in all shapes and sizes these days. It is important that they are fairly resilient too to show some of that good old fashioned European spirit and style.

I'd also expect to base ourselves in a mid range location. If too much money is spent on a location, we struggle to bring in good talent, if not enough money is spent on a location, again, how do we bring in good talent? Yes, a mid-range talent. Maybe somewhere like New England.

New England?!? Surely you must be joking! Imagine the audacity of that region of the States, utilizing the name synonymous with class and dignity, in order to make a place like Boston seem palatable.  Bloody wankers.  If we MUST have a homebase across the pond, and according to Team Combat Wrestling bylaws we do, then it will need to be in a place that doesn't mock the crown.

That is very true Sir Charles. I do believe the weather in Washington is more suited to our climate. There is a certain brisk air in Seattle that hardens the faces of men and makes proper fighters out of them. But of course if you have a preferred city then I am more than happy to go there, you are obviously a man of dignity and intellect.

So what do you say, do I have the job?

I have no preference to where we locate our club, other than it cannot be a place which blatantly insults England and the fine people herein.  Pffft....New England.....

You seem to be a fine candidate Mr. Hollands, I can see that you and I will get along swimmingly if you were to be hired.  Presently, TCW regulations require me to hold open interviews for the rest of the week, so I cannot offer you the job here and now.  I will say however, that it would take a strong candidate to unseat you.

Also sir, as a man of dignity, I will hold no ill will towards you if you decide to interview with other clubs in the interim.  I understand that this is a business, and it should be conducted as one.

Are there any final words you wish for me to consider before we part company sir?

Sir Charles how are you? I have made my rounds and interviewed for several clubs and while sitting in the waiting room listening to others speak I heard them all unified in one common thought process "We hate Sir Charles Winslow III" I carried a conversation with one of these guys in my last interview and turns out the word on the street is that you hate Americans and that there was no point on an American interviewing for the spot as President of your Club.

So I laughed at the guy and brought myself right over and here I am... Yeah you might hate Americans but if I know one thing about you Brits is that you all hate losing more then you hate Americans. So basically pour me some tea, give me a biscuit or make me eat some bangers and mash... I really don't care just give me the job and let's show these ignorant cowards who refused to give you the time of day that this American worked out just fine for the Union Jacks!

Mr. Midas, you walk in here describing the 'word on the street' as it were.  It's said that I hate Americans.  Allow me to set you straight, you bloody wanker.  It's true, that I feel that Americans are the greatest form of vile filth that this world has to offer.  I'd sooner close my willie in a cabinet door than be in the presence of Americans.

But....TCW regulations mean that I have to conduct interviews with every applicant.  So the floor is yours.  Wow me. Why should I lower my standards, and hire the same villainy that I'm trying to eradicate?

Title: Re: The Union Jacks
Post by: Midas on February 27, 2015, 05:09:53 PM
You hate me... Yeah well join the club! Why should you hire me? You have to fight fire with fire! You can come in here with your nose raised as high as possible and bring in some snooty blue blood Englishman to run your club but those good ole boys in the other clubs are going to put him over their knee and give him a  good spanking and send him on his way and laugh in your face when you come in last place this season...

As far as spanking me! It just doesn't happen... The Doctor spanked me when I was born and I slapped his ass back!

Mr. Hollands, I've made some inquiries.  Seattle is a mid-market city, and I've located 2 properties for your consideration.  The first is a 5,000 seat facility near a shopping center at a cost of $3 million dollars.  The 2nd is a bit more upscale 6,000 seat facility, and is located in a trendier part of town.  The lease price there is $5.5 million dollars per season.

This will come from your "incentives" budget sir.

Wrestling is a male dominated world.  As a woman, I've had to work twice as hard just to gain the respect of my peers.  I started out going to law school and passing the bar, but I have always had an interest in fitness and in wrestling.  My uncle used to wrestle, he started his own wrestling school and I kinda fell into it with him.  We've trained quite a few people, and now it's time for me to strike out on my own.

Hello sir, it's a pleasure to meet you.  I graduated top of my class at the University of Havana in Cuba.  Worked in the hospital there for a time, before joining Doctors Without Borders.  I've treated patients all over the world, with a variety of ailments.  I've recently decided to settle down in the United States, and having been a fan of wrestling my entire life, the TCW openings interested me greatly.

I believe in a holistic approach to medicine.  Dumping medications into a persons body is just masking the symptoms.  You must treat the entire person - body, mind, and spirit - in order to bring wellness to their life.

Title: Re: The Union Jacks

That sounds refreshing Thao. It's my understanding a lot of wrestlers tend to deal with all sorts of issues. I'm also going to assume that you have a good grasp of language skills, as it is my intention for the Union Jacks to be a multi-national stables so that is useful.

Let me ask you though, say one of my guys comes in to see you after suffering a cracked rib, how do you help him?

Well, first I'd assess to ensure that the patient wasn't in immediate danger.  When dealing with broken ribs, there is always the possibility that a splinter of bone could puncture a lung.  Once I'm satisfied that he's in no danger, I would work on breathing, stretching, and perhaps some reiki therapy.  If, after treatment, the patient is still in discomfort, I would consider a mild pain medication, for a short time.

Mr. Hollands, Commissioner Powers here.  It has come to my attention that you are requesting to speak with the agent of a wrestler who is currently still in negotiations with the club that drafted him.  Regardless of how well, or how poorly these negotiations are going....and frankly, I have to question exactly how you know what is going on inside the Rebellions offices....your attempt to contact Mr. Lancaster is considered tampering.

You will be assessed a $1 million dollar fine, to be paid out of either your PR or Incentives budget.  Another tampering charge will result in a MUCH more severe penalties.  Please submit the paperwork for the fine before continuing any further business.  Have a nice day.

Title: Re: The Union Jacks (Seattle)
Post by: Rob on March 17, 2015, 04:41:27 PM
Mr Powers I will not be submitting a fine until I receive clarification on the fact that this is a rule that was not in the TCW handbook and has seemingly been invented on the spot. I expect a warning before such punishment

(http://i58.tinypic.com/2e1aedu.jpg)

Mr. Hollands, let me ask you a question.  What exactly do you believe the point of holding a draft is, if another club is able to swoop in and try and sign anyone else's draft pick, before negotiations are over?  There wouldn't be much of a point, would there?

Let me make this easy for you.  You have 2 options.  The first option is, you can pay the aforementioned fine.  The second is, since you believe that the draft is a free for all, you can choose to NOT pay the fine, but to compensate for that fact each one of your draft picks will be allowed to negotiate with any other club that they wish, at the same time as your negotiations.

Which will it be?

After just checking the latest updates on my iPhone, it seems that Stance's camp has walked away from the negotiating table.  As the latest news story would suggest, Jacob is now a free agent.

Now Mr. Hollands, I need a decision.

Jacob is the hottest free agent in wrestling right now, so while we are very excited to hear your pitch to join the Union Jacks, but we won't be making a decision at this time.  Give us your pitch now, then send me a private message with your offer.  Once all offers are in, we'll make a decision.

Now, onto Lightning.  We're looking for a 3 year deal, $6.5 million dollar a year deal.

Title: Re: The Union Jacks (Seattle)
Post by: Rob on March 18, 2015, 04:03:52 AM
Firstly,  Mr Lancaster I am happy to accept that deal for Lightning.

Now, the thing with Jacob Stance is, we would like to bring him to the Union Jacks very much. Nowhere else in the world is Jacob able to experience the competition quite like TCW. Frankly, the CWA is not going to be at the same level of competition, they are the minor leagues and they will pay like the minor leagues. Jacob deserves to be on a stage where the whole world can watch him and appreciate him. I plan to put him on that stage. He is a talent, there's no doubt about it, so consider this offer and make the right decision, Mr. Lancaster.

Buzz has potential and the only way he will fulfil that potential is if he's wrestling.

$3.5m for 2 years, agreed.

The team is back from training camp.  Here's a few notes for you:

~ Trainer White looked lost during training, and relied heavily on Goldie to keep things on track.
~ Many people are wondering if the bond between Lightning and Thunder is a good enough reason to keep Thunder in the club, as he is generally poor at most things.
~ Rory McCaul was stiff in sparring bouts, trying to "toughen up" the rest of the club.  After their initial suprise, most responded well to it.
~ Howard Torres was offended by his "racist" PR campaign.  He told anyone that'd listen that you were a "coño tonto".

The trainers are putting together the team sheet for you.  Once I get it to you, you'll be expected to put out a press release before speaking to your Head Trainer.

Press Release

I am delighted to welcome the most quintessentially non-American team the TCW has to offer back from their training retreat. We've had highs and lows already as a unit but I am pleased to announce that we come here to TCW with one goal in mind. That is to shame and humiliate all of those filthy Americans that the rest of the teams will pander to. We are tough... We are determined. We are going to kick some arse.

Anyway, since this is the course of action than you've chosen, I'll inform you of your options.  You can either pay my client his money as it is already structured ($4.5 million salary/$1 million PR) this season and next.  OR, you can buy him out in one lump sum ($9 million salary + $2 million PR = $11 million) from either your PR or Incentives budget.

I'll pay him as structured already. I do apologise Jerry, I just don't think we can progress as a partnership from here. He has made his feelings very clear of me and I'd like to think we can prevent any hurt feelings.

We have $6.5 million in salary, $5 million in PR (due to the scouting we just did) and $3 million in incentives in our budget sir.

Also, you may want to check your paperwork.  You just terminated the employment of "Howard Marks".  Isn't he the janitor?  What'd he ever do to you?!?  That man has a family!!

We are sir but we obviously made a grim mistake in not scouting Bobby in the first place. I think he could be a wonderful acquisition and a big team player here.

I'm wondering what you'd want for Bobby at this time? Let's give him somewhere to go wrestle this season

Thanks for signing me, I'm glad to have made it on a roster.  I'm pretty anxious to meet my teammates, and get to training, so I'm going to go and do that if that is okay with you.

As for the PR....whatever gets my name out there is okay with me.  Just take it easy on the 'Anti-American' stuff with me.  I know that is the vibe around here, I as a proud Canadian I can dig it.....it's just my wife and her family are American.  So, being directly used in PR like that could cause me some issues at home, you know?

That's great Bobby, it's refreshing to have a positive and helpful character instead of the last guy so I'm happy to have you here. I'll let you get acquainted with your team mates now.

~~~
Diana, here's the PR campaign for Bobby Williams.
"Mr. Universe" Bobby Williams - Rather than being shown as an Anti-American in Bobby's promotional videos, he is shown as a man of the people from all nations and all walks of life. He fights for the good of the little people. He is shown as the man willing to fight the good fight and restore pride, respect and honour to wrestling. The kind of man that will settle his scores inside the ring.
Mr. Hollands, Commissioner Powers here.  I am disappointed to have to address you again in this manner.  It has come to my attention that you altered a document which you had previously submitted to this office via "Confirmed Deals".  The rules of TCW.....in fact, the very 1st "rule to live by".....states that you are NOT to edit anything, ever.  You must submit a new document, or submit the previously omitted information in a document of it's own.  NEVER TO EDIT.
This office is forced to once again take corrective measures against you and your club.  Where this is your second violation of league rules, we will be increasing the penalty to $2 million dollars (to be paid from either your PR or Incentives budget) and the loss of your 2nd Round draft selection prior to Season 2.  Please pay this fine by submitting the paperwork in Confirmed Deals, and specify which budget you will be using.
Mr. Hollands, I sincerely hope that we do not have to meet in this way again.  Please do your best to remain within the rules from here on, as penalties will only get worse from here.  Good day sir.
Your first set of league rules were made up on the spot by yourself and you've done wrong by your franchise and establishment already. I paid your fine before, to punish me further like this is against human rights. I will pay $2m spread out over 4 seasons and that will be as much as I'm willing to pay otherwise we can get the law involved and show them how you fined me last time for something that is not in your contracts and is not a written rule anywhere.
Mr. Hollands, this is a privately run company.  You believing that you have any sort of case of "human rights" violations against myself, or this league, is absurd.  "The Law" has no authority here.  The owners of the teams form the governing body of TCW, and I have been selected to be their Commissioner.  I am the one with the final say around here Mr. Hollands, and that is a fact that you do need to remember.
You will pay the fine yourself, or your esteemed owner will be forced to handle it, I imagine much to his chagrin.  Good day Mr. Hollands.  I sincerely hope we do not meet in this manner again.
I am originally a London boy but now live in the county of Essex. Constable country if you are a fan of art. I have built up a reputation and a career in team management whether that be in a white collar or blue collar environment.
I am also incredibly adept at bringing harmony to teams under my guidance. I feel that chemistry goes a long way towards success and have achieved that in spades in past employment.
I'd just like to point out that there is one person applying for this job who understands global markets and more importantly understands what it is like to stand our from the crowd. The Union Jacks do that and appeal to not just a UK market but to every free thinking person who wants an alternative to the cookie cutter Yankee doodle dandy wrestling. I have stood out my whole life not necessarily for the right reasons nut have never been a part of the mainstream.
The fans want a fight, the fans want wrestlers who brawl and give them a show. The fans want a Bar room brawl like they've seen in Glasgow?  They'll get it. The fans want a riot like they've seen in London?  They'll get it. The fans want chaos like an average day in Belfast?  They'll get it.
Mr Wrong... is Mr Right for the Union Jacks.
Title: Re: The Union Jacks (Seattle)
Post by: Goldferg on June 03, 2015, 03:29:16 PM
If Ah can be blunt Sir Charles, there's two reasons y'all should hire me baby.
The first of these is experience. Ah know Ah've already said it before, but in mah time in this business Ah've managed wrasslers of all colors, creeds an' nationalities an' done it in many continents. Ah know that there ain't no one single method of gettin' things done in that ring, but what Ah do know is that Ah'm damned good at findin' out what works best for each talent an' usin' it ta lead 'em ta victory.
The second of these is because... well... because Ah AM an American baby. Now Ah know that might sound like a wierd reason, but hear me out here, OK baby? Ya see the thing is, the last feller ya hired ta be yore franchise's Prime Minister... well, he made it clear that he was anti-American an' ta be honest baby, it's clear he took things a little too far, an' that's why yore franchise ended up pickin' up two fines before the season even got started. 'Cuz he had a chip on his shoulder an' couldn't resist buckin' the authority of Commissioner Powers. Y'all hire another firebrand like him an' Ah guarantee ya y'all will end up with another fine when they end up tryin' ta buck the authority of our American commissioner. What you need baby is someone like me, someone who won't pick fights with the establishment just 'cuz they're the wrong nationality. Someone ta facilitate, ta keep things runnin' smooth an' not rock the boat.
Ah don't see this here franchise as the anti-American group yore previous prime minister tried ta make it as - no baby, ah see this as the United Nations of Wrasslin'! A club that proves that there are no international borders when it comes ta talent! An' that includes us Americans as well. With yore refined British leadership, mah American diplomacy an' the phenomenally tallented, truly international roster y'all have employed we could do great things baby. Thank you for yore time baby, Ah hope ah'll be hearin' from you again in the near future.
Howdy folks, pleasure ta meet ya both. Been goin' through the paperwork mah predecessor left me with regards to the Wrasslers we have under contract an' Ah thought Ah had best consult with the two of you here, since y'all have more hands on experience with 'em then Ah do at the moment. Anythin' in particular ya feel ah should know?
Mr. Hollands got rid of some of the dead weight before he left.  That leaves Thunder as our only glaring weak spot, but it's hard to say what replacing him would do to Lightning.
Unless he up and quits ain't nothin' Ah can do about replacin' him this season. We'll see how he does in the first week or so an' if he's draggin' Lightning down Ah'll have a little chat with him, see if Ah can motivate him somehow.
Anyhow, based on mah predecessor's notes it looks like he was lookin at somethin' like this as our initial line-up.
Main: Rory McCall
Semi-Main: Ethan Tripp
Tag: Thunder & Lightning
Woman: Deanna Fuentes
Opener: Bobby Williams
Bench: Pearl
Sparring: Buzz
Anythin' look wrong with that to you two, or are we good ta lock it in?
That's great ta hear. Hopefully all our conversations in the future'll be this easy. Lookin' forward ta workin' with ya both.
Ms Ramsay, after speakin' with our trainers Ah believe Ah've finalized our initial line-up. While Ah'd like ta take a few moments ta get ta know the rest of the squad Ah believe time is of the essence. Let them know Ah'll be chattin' to 'em in more detail after the first week is done, an' that if they got any burnin' issues that mah door is always open. But for now our line-up will be...
Main: Rory McCall
Semi-Main: Ethan Tripp
Tag: Thunder & Lightning
Woman: Deanna Fuentes
Opener: Bobby Williams
Bench: Pearl
Sparring: Buzz
Now, let's go win some matches, baby!
Lock In
Highlights from the recent Union Jacks Press Conference:
On The Last Event:
Well, as y'all can imagine, that wasn't exactly how I envisaged things goin' on mah first time in charge. Ah'd say the whole uncertainty caused by mah predecessor's sudden resignation must'a got to the team or somethin'. Obviously me and mah trainin' staff will be lookin' long and hard at what went down ta try figure out where we went wrong an' try ensure that we don't get another repeat of what happened last night when we take on The Shoot Club.
On Rory McCaul:
Well Ah don't want ta say too much as Ah haven't had much chance ta meet the feller yet, what with takin' over the reins of this here franchise at the last minute 'n all, but Ah can see why he'd be frustrated – result like that anyone would be. Ah do however appreciate him tryin' ta lead by example – that's why he's the Team Captain, baby! An' the way he took down Percy James was a thing of beauty.
On the upcoming contest with The Shoot Club:
Both of us came off on the losin' end of our openin' fights, so obviously they're gonna be lookin' ta make up for lost ground, just like we are – but if they think we're gonna be a pushover just 'cuz of what happened this week they'd better think again. The Union Jacks are like the United Nations of talent, baby! Y'all might hate mah boys and gals because they ain't American, but we intend to prove that nationality ain't what matters – talent does, and we have that in spades.
On Rafa Faafili:
Heard that Rafa Faafili an' his club been havin' problems. Dunno why, the guy is an absolute beast in the ring, baby. Ah have no idea what President Justin is doin' ta piss the guy off, but if he ever wants a new home, Ah know Ah'd be happy ta have him here in the Union Jacks. An' honestly, any other feller in mah position with a brain would be happy ta say the same.
Alright, now that's been dealt with, time ta deal with the fallout of that debacle. Ms. Ramsay, could ya get our Head Trainer in here for me please?
... well... that could'a gone better ta say the least. Thoughts on where we went wrong?
First thing working against us was having to face the Rockets right out of the shoot.  That club is a force to be reckoned with.  Also, I'd say that the abrupt change in leadership hurt us a bit in the focus department.
Yeah, that's more like it... sorry about that brief interruption, baby, now... where were we? Aw, yeah, what went wrong. Yeah, Ah kinda agree with ya there HC, Ah had a feelin' the guys an' gals might be a bit thrown off by the sudden replacement of mah predecessor. In an ideal world Ah'd have had the chance ta sit down an' have a quick pow-wow with 'em all, but we kinda ended up under the gun toward the end there. Ah'll make sure ta remedy that ASAP. Anyhow, other than the issues ya already outlined, any particular glarin' weaknesses y'all spotted? Anyone on the team could use a kick up the backside, pardon mah language?
Now Deanna, Ah know y'all got unlucky last week. It happens baby. An' Ah know ya want ta make up for it, show everyone that it was the fluke you an Ah both know it was. Pearl, y'all ain't had much of a chance ta show what ya can do, but ya did make an impact in the main event, which is the kinda initiative Ah like ta see.
Now, whichever of you Ah bench this week will be startin' the next, that Ah'm gonna guarantee ya right now. But the way Ah see it, it's a coin toss between the two of ya at the moment, so if there's anythin' else either of ya would like ta say before Ah make mah decision, now it the time to do it. In any case Ah'll be expectin' success from the both of you - the tougher you two make the choice between which of you starts, the better, far as Ah'm concerned. In any case ladies that'll be all for now.
Much as Ah'd like to talk to the rest of the team, looks like Ah've run outa time. Ah'll have ta make sure ta have a one-to-one with the rest of 'em next week. Ms Ramsay, could you assemble the team in the training center for me. Ah'd like ta talk to them all briefly.
Alright y'all. Some of you Ah've now had the chance ta meet personally, some of you Ah didn't - an' for that Ah appologize, Ah'll be sure to correct that next week. As Ah'm sure y'all don't need remindin', last week wasn't the best of starts for us. This week Ah don't intend ta see a repeat of the same. The Shoot Club probably think we're gonna be push-overs. Well, we're gonna prove 'em wrong. Each an' every one of you is extremely talented at what you do. You are the best team in the world and together we are gonna give the Shoot Club one hell of an ass-kickin'. This here is the team roster for the week...
Main: Rory McCall
Semi-Main: Ethan Tripp
Tag: Thunder & Lightning
Woman: Deanna Fuentes
Opener: Bobby Williams
Bench: Pearl
Sparring: Buzz
Now go out there an' knock 'em dead people.
LOCK IN
Highlights from the Union Jacks' Press Conference
On This Week's Result:
Well, talk about your complete reversals of fortune, baby. Same scoreline as last week, but this time the result was much more in our favour. I hope anyone who wrote us off as an easy win after last week is re-evaluatin' their opinion, because Ah said last week, Talent is somethin' that transcends all national borders – an' that talent is somethin' the Union Jacks has in spades. Ah'm very happy with how mah team performed an' ah look ta extend those winnin' ways ta next week an' beyond.
On Thunder's Injury:
Yeah, that was unfortunate baby, a real freak accident. Thunder is currently bein' evaluated by Doctor Nguyen, so Ah can assure y'all he's in good hands... uh... no pun intended. We hope ta have him back an' kickin' ass with Lightnin' in no time at all.
On next week's Match with The Wildcats
Well, this is sure gonna be an interestin' one. They had a narrow loss this week an' are gonna be lookin' ta rebound , but where or not they can pull together is the question. From what Ah hear there's some decided coachin' issues over in their camp, an' that can only lead ta distracted wrasslers – an' against a team like mah own Union Jacks, distracted means defeated. Ya can't afford ta have yore house in disarray, facin' a team of our calibre. We won't be underestimatin' 'em either way, but we won't be losin' either.
On Joel Rocker:
Well, if Ah'd had mah ass whupped like Rory whupped his Ah'd be pissed too! But that ain't the way ta deal with it. The Shoot Club's President Wrong had a lot ta say about Rory last week, so Ah'm just dyin' ta hear what he has ta say about this.
OK, that's the press dealt with. Ms Ramsay, could ya get me Head Trainer White please? Oh, and could ya find out what brand of beer Thunder and Lightning like? Ah believe Ah owe them a crate or two.
Congrats HT! That kinda performance is the kinda thing Ah like ta see. Shame about Thunder though, although this might end up bein' a blessing in disguise. What's the mood like among the guys an' gals?
Ah feel that HT. It's nice ta see the team steppin' up an' showin' what we can do. Ah'm gonna have a word with the Doc in a moment about Thunder, but in the worst case scenario thought Ah'd better get yore opinion on what the best option would be if he's not cleared ta compete.
Now personally Ah was thinkin' of maybe tryin' Lightnin' as the semi-main an' tryin' an Ethan Tripp/Bobby Williams combo with Buzz as our opener, but obviously you an' Mr Stevens have a better idea of what would work than Ah do.
You reckon those two could work together for a week or two, worst comes ta worst? Or should Ah be lookin at other options?
Lightning definitely has the talent to move up the card, no doubt about that.  The only reservation that I'd have is the fact that he has ALWAYS been a tag team wrestler.  I'm not sure he's had more than a half dozen singles matches in his entire career.  If he is able to translate his tag team prowess to singles matches, we could have a superstar on our hands.  The jury is out on that though until we see what he can do.
Williams and Tripp, although neither have regularly competed in tag teams, would be the best makeshift combo we could come up with.  The problem being, we'd need to use Buzz in our opening match slot, and the kid isn't ready.
Thunder suffered a dislocation of the 4th and 5th fingers, as well as a deep bone bruise.  He definitely needs to sit out this week, and I'll re-evaluate his progress this time next week.  Depending on how well he heals, he could be ready to go, or he could need more time.
Ms. Ramsay can ya send Lightnin' up please?
Kickin' faces in sounds good ta me baby, provided said face belongs ta the other team. But on the subject of kickin' face, ah'm sure ya heard the bad news about Thunder. Looks like he's gonna be out of action for a week or two, an' that means Ah gotta shake things up a little bit.
Ah'm thinkin' of tryin' you out in one of the tag slots this week, have ya team with Bobby. Nothin' long term Ah assure ya, ah plan on havin' you back as a single once Thunder's hand heals up. That OK with you? Think ya can work with Bobby for a week or two?
Ah'm sure y'all know what happened ta Thunder - looks like he's gonna be out of action for a week or two. An' that means Ah gotta shuffle things around a bit.
As for how that pertains ta you, well Ah'm lookin ta try ya out in the tag team slot along with Ethan Tripp. Probably ain't gonna be a permanent thing, just a hold-over until we got Thunder back in action. That OK with you baby? Think ya can work with him for a week or two?
Butch, baby, how are ya? Nice ta get ta meet ya at last. Would'a done so earlier but ya know how it is - only so many hours in the day and twice as much paperwork. Now Ah know y'all haven't had much of a chance ta contribute in-ring at the moment an Ah appologize for that, but Ah'm about ta change that for the better. Ah'm pleased ta inform ya yore gonna be startin' for us next week. Ah wish it were under better circumstances, but hey - this is a golden opportunity for ya baby, ta step up, show me what ya got an', more ta the point, show me why I should start ya more regular like. So long as he isn't taking any of the pain medication I gave him at the same time, he'll be able to drink.
Fair enough Doc. Ah guess Ah'll have ta trust him ta be sensible. Ah won't take up any more of yore time.
Turns back to Thunder.
Doc says yer OK ta drink provided ya don't take it at the same time as yer pain medication. So Ah'll have it brought down to ya ASAP baby - just make sure ya don't do nothin' stupid, Ah want ya back an' fit an' fightin' as soon as baby. After all, you an' Lightnin' win yore tag matches an' Ah keep ya in the beers was the agrement, remember?
Enjoy yer cervezas baby - an' get well soon. That's an order.
Prime Minister McMasterson leaves the medical facility and dials the number for his office
Howdy Ms Ramsay. Can Ah get ya ta send that crate of Mexico's finest that Ah ordered for Thunder down ta his room please? An' before ya do so, can Ah get y'all to attach a note ta remind him that he's not ta drink it while he's on his medication? An' once y'all have done that, let the rest of the team know Ah'd like ta speak to 'em. It's time ta finalize the preparations for next week.
Curtis speaks to the gathered Union Jacks team
Alright y'all. Last week Ah asked ya ta step up an' give the Shoot Club one hell of an ass kickin' an ya all more than delivered on that - so first and foremost thank you and congratulations to each an' every one of you for yore efforts so far.
But just because we won last week don't mean we can take our next opponent's lightly. Ah know that word in the sheets is that there's dissention at the top over at Wildcat HQ. Whether or not that's true, Ah don't know, but Ah don't want none of you thinkin' this is gonna be a cakewalk an' takin' 'em too lightly. Don't get me wrong, y'all ARE better 'n them, an' Ah fully expect y'all ta bring home another victory - but there's some talented guys in that team an' Ah don't want at see any slip-ups.
With that said, here's the Line-up for this week
Main: Rory McCaul
Semi-Main: Lightning
Tag: Ethan Tripp & Bobby Williams
Woman: Pearl
Opener: Buzz
Sparring: Deanna Fuentes
Sit-Out: Thunder
Those of you who are in different positions than usual or are sittin' out, this ain't a knock on yore skills. Ah have full faith in all of ya. If ya have any issues with th, then mah door is always open. Now go show the Wildcats what the greatest selection of international talent can do.
Highlights from The Union Jacks' Press Conference
On this week's win:
Well, Ah may not like the way it ended up finishin' but that's two wins on the trot now, so all in all Ah can't complain, especially since this was somethin' of an experimental line-up this week. Which isn't to say that Ah didn't have faith that mah guys an' gals could pull it off, an Ah'm glad ta see that faith was well rewarded.
On The Attack to Seiji Masuka:
That was a terrible thing baby, truly terrible. Ah don't know who done the dirty deed, but when the culprit comes ta light Ah hope the TCW throw the book at the lowlife who done it. Ain't nobody should be attackin' a coach. An' as for Kamikaze Lee forfeitin'  his match with Rory McCaul... well Ah know Rory sure didn't want ta win that way.  Ah assure all of you right now, neither myself nor anyone under mah employ had anything' ta do with it.
On Lightning's Stunning Solo Performance:
What can Ah say baby, guy's a born star an' a born winner. Be it tag team or singles action, there ain't nothin' he can't do. As for what the future holds, well that's up ta him. I dunno yet whether or not Thunder is gonna be good to go this week, but either way, whether he goes it alone, or whether he's back rulin' the tag ranks, Ah'm tellin' y'all now it ain't gonna change a thing – cuz he's gonna be winnin' either way.
On Next Week's Showdown With the PFC:
Ah'm not gonna lie to y'all – out of all the fixtures so far, this is the one Ah want to win the most. Ain't no secret that Ah originally tried out for the PFC job an' that Mr Johnson picked the other guy rather 'n yores truly. Ah won't say Ah'm bitter or nothin' an' Ah'm more than happy ta be the Prime Minister of the Union Jacks, but y'all will have to forgive me if Ah ain't lookin' forward ta showin' him the error of has ways. That bein' said, they've got a good squad over there, an' it sure as hell ain't gonna be easy – but challengin' is how we like it baby. Ah have no doubt that my guys an' gals have what it takes ta win the day.
On The Rebellion's Leadership Change:
Ah don't want ta rub it in ex-president Justin's face or nothin', but it ain't no surprise. Only surprise is that it took this long ta happen. Gonna be interestin' ta see what happens over there. If the new guy in charge can get Rafa Faafili back onside an' clear up the rest of the mess, then the Rebellion is lookin' like a team ta be feared again.
OK, so that's the press dealt with. Now, time ta see what mah options are for this week. Ms Ramsay could ya get Doctor Nguyen for me please?
Howdy Doc. How's Thunder doin'?
Howdy HT. Sorry for the delay, thought Ah'd better see what the Thunder situation was this week before makin' any plans. Team performed well this week, especially considerin' the fact we had a very ad-hoc line-up. Thoughts on everyone's performances?
Yeah, Ah'm with ya on that one. Thunder's gonna be out for another week at least, so looks like we should run Lightnin' as a single for another week - 'specially considerin' how well he did yesterday. Thoughts on the tag line-up? Ah was thinkin' maybe it might be worth puttin' Buzz in with Bobby his week an' have Tripp as the opener.
Main - Rory McCaul
Semi-Main - Lightning
Tag - Bobby Williams & Buzz
Woman - Pearl
Opener - Ethan Tripp
Bench - Deanna Fuentes
Sparring - Thunder
Lets go out there and kick some ass people.
Highlights from the Union Jacks' press conference
On this Week's result:
Ah ain't gonna lie, Ah'm  disappointed ta lose this one. Sure it ain't like there weren't some positives ta this, Ah am, for example, very happy with how Buzz an' Bobby Williams performed in their maiden outing as a team, an' there ain't no shame in losin' when it goes down ta the wire like that. Ah'd probably feel a lot better with this one if it weren't for what happened ta Rory.
On Rory McCaul's injury:
Ah know y'all want a few words on this, but Ah don't know his condition yet. Doc Nguyen is lookin' after him at the moment an' hopefully the damage ain't gonna be too bad, fingers crossed. Rory is a huge part of this team an' hopefully he'll be back an' kickin' ass as per usual before ya know it.
On Next Week's Showdown with the Rebels:
Well, Ah'm  feelin' a lot less confident than Ah was before Rory limped outa the ring, the Rebels ain't a team ya can walk into without yore captain an' expect ta have an easy time of it. That bein' said, even without Rory , Ah have a hell of a team ta call upon so if they're thinkin' we're gonna be an easy win... well they'd better think again.
On other TCW news:
Ah gotta say, findin' out that Kamikaze Lee was behind that there attack on Seiji Masuka the other week surprised the hell outa me, Ah wouldn't have had him down as the type ta pull somethin' like that. Can't imagine why he'd do it, but Ah hope GM Franchise deals with him appropriately
Well shit... this ain't good, pardon mah French. Guess Ah'd better find out the damage first, then see what Ah can salvage outa this mess... Ms Ramsay, could ya send Doc Nguyen up please?
Howdy Doc... been seein' more of you than Ah'd like lately. What's the damage on Rory lookin' like?
No structural damage to the knee at all, although he does have a deep bruise and swelling.  He can wrestle this week if he wants to, but he won't be at 100%, and he'd be risking doing further damage.  It is up to you both to decide what's best.
Also, Thunder is looking great.  He can go this week, no problem.
Ms Ramsay, can ya send Head Trainer White in please?
Howdy HT. Not the result we all wanted, but not as bad as it coulda been. Just spoke ta the Doc an' good news is that Rory's knee ain't broke, just bruised - so we could start him this week if we need ta, although Doc did say he'd be far from 100% an' he'd be riskin' injury. Personally ah'm inclined ta sit him... but that'd leave a gapin' hole in the main event, an' the only person Ah can think of who could fill it would be Lightnin', who Ah don't think is quite ready for that much responsibility. Ah need ta talk it over with Rory anyhow, but thoughts?
We're definitely in a tough spot.  We're having trouble with consistency due to the injuries forcing us to continually shuffle the lineup.  I don't want to be the hard ass that says "Rory should fight through the pain" but.....
Anyhow, aside from that, thoughts on Buzz and Bobby? I know they picked up the dubya, which ta be honest Ah weren't expectin', but was it luck on our part, or could we be onta a future winnin' formula?
Prime Minister McMasterson addresses the assembled team
Alright guys an' gals, y'all know the drill. We got unlucky last week, but this time we bounce back an' give those Rebels the asskickin' they deserve. This here's the line-up:
Main: Rory McCaul
Semi-Main: Lightning
Tag: Buzz & Bobby Williams
Woman: Deana Fuentes
Opener: Thunder
Bench: Ethan Tripp
Sparring: Pearl
Go out there an' knock 'em dead people.
(http://i60.tinypic.com/2qs8c9e.png)
Highlights from the Union Jacks Press Conference:
On This Week's Win:
Ah gotta tell ya, Ah feel good about this one baby. Before they met us, the Rebels were ridin' high at the top of the division, but the guys an' gals of the Union Jacks showed once again why nobody should ever consider us an easy win, especially when yore in our house. After last week's loss its good ta be back on the winnin' trail, an' we're gonna look ta continue things from there. Right now we're third in our group and Ah believe fifth overall, an' Ah only expect things ta get better from there.
On Rory McCaul's win & Donny Temple's injury:
Rory McCaul is one of the toughest, hardest hittin' guys in the sport of professional wrasslin', period, an' he proved that by takin Donnie Temple out in emphatic fashion, despite havin' a bad wheel baby. Ah will admit though Ah do feel bad for Donnie, havin' ta be the one who got in there with Rory tonight. Mah team captain was on a mission an' he was the one who ended up payin' the price. Ah won't apologize for his gettin' hurt, 'cuz that's just how it goes sometimes – but Ah will wish him a speedy recovery.
On Next Week's Showdown at The Wildcats:
Last time we faced the 'cats was here in Seattle, where we walked out with the win. This time round we're gonna be in their house, but the result is gonna be the same. Ah ain't takin' em light, not by any means, but it looks like their house is still in disorder with their main eventer getting' beaten up by their A/T if the rumors are right... an' if yore house ain't in order when you take on a team like the Jacks... well, yore gonna get beat, simple as.
On The Shoot Club finally getting a win:
Ah'd like ta take a moment ta send congratulations ta President Wrong an' the Shoot Club for pullin' one hell of an upset over the Devils, the other previously unbeaten team in the league. That bein' said, his team's fairytail come back is comin' ta an end in two weeks when they come here an' face us
Alright, time ta get things done. Ms Ramsay could you send Head Trainer White up please?
Well H/T that's another win for us, which is all to the good. Team looked motivated out there, which is good ta see. Anythin' in particular stand out for you?
Rory is a...difficult....patient.  He shrugs me off, tries to blow off my exams, that kind of thing.  Here is what I know.  He SAYS it doesn't bother him.  Nothing is showing up as being structurally wrong on an x-ray.  The limited exam that he'll allow me to perform looks fine.  That is all encouraging.  However, he could have muscular/tendon/ligament damage that doesn't show up on an x-ray.
Based on what I have seen of him, he SHOULD be okay to go out there.  I just can't give you 100% guarantees.
