Black Death

Here my thoughts. Binge watch it in two nights , almost made me late for work  lol
1. I believe it was done because this was shot from the kids  point of view. When your a kid all the adults same to be big , everything is bigger when your young and I think they did a fine job in reflecting that in the show.

2. Well it was drawn to her when she step into the underworld, she got so scare when she first saw it , she weaken the barrier between the dimensions, that why it could step through and that why there same to be soft spots in certain points around town. What she did I think was focus and actually close the opening and plugging the hole sending him back. Now we assume that she died doing it. but with him putting the eggos in the box , she is alive and living alone out there. I think government wants to leave her alone , because it was a black project and boy who was buried and called dead is now alive , best to leave it alone and swept it under the rug.  Now with the slug coing coming out of Will mouth at the end , I think something is growing inside of him. not sure what , but he now can shift into the other world , it was at random , but I get a feeling it going to get worse as he gets older. It had him into a cocoon like alien, you had to wonder where was all the people of the other world , it was world like ours but no people expect the monster.  something bad happen there , really bad and it might be explore more next season.

3. My thought it was a debrief more than anything , Who ever the Doctor handler ( white haired guy Matthew Modine ) was wanted to talk to Hopper , minute I saw the car it was the first thing that cross my mind and Hooper acted like he was expecting it also. being he was the one that breach the site more than once and did a lot of leg work to undercover what was going on, they  wanted to get his side of the story. They were going to sweep this thing  under the rug , a lot of people were killed and they needed to know that he would go along with it to spin the story that covers this up.  They wanted to make sure he would stay quiet about this. getting rid of him now would bring to much undue attention with Will now returning alive. He probably broker a deal to keep the kids safe and out of the cross hairs of the government. I think there saving that meeting for the next season. Plus Will is one of the few people to cross into another world and come back alive.  There going to be watching him I bet.
Winona Ryder has given the absolute performance of her life time. And the oddity of just everything that keeps happening is so bizarre and brilliant.

Finished the show!

Great show. The most nit picking thing ever though....the flags on all the cop uniforms were backwards. Other than that, really great show.  :)

and
The end felt a little weak, like they weren't sure if they wanted to do another season or give it a more definitive ending.
Good show and worth a watch, especially since it's just 8 episodes.

A few things I noticed or thought and would love to get some other people's thoughts on:
1. Did anyone else notice that all adult males seemed to look like really big people? Hopper, the restaurant owner, even the white haired bad guy and the dad of the main boy (I'm bad with remembering names). They all just seemed like really big people. Possibly just to make the boys look smaller...but something I noticed.

2. So in the end, was it a 'ying/yang' thing with 11 and the Monster? Wasn't really clear on that and if so, is that why the cop is still feeding 11 in the woods (assuming because of the eggos) and the slime thing went down the drain?

3. What happened when Hopper got in the car at the end? In my mind they were saying "Dude, you're good at this, join us!" but then he was back at the police station. Thoughts?
Good show!

Okay I've just finished it. Here are my thoughts.
1. I'm surprised by that observation because despite the idea of these men being big (even dwarfing Jonathan and Steven), it was the kids that dictated the pace in which we learned things and pushed the story forwards. Perhaps it's like when you're little, what are you afraid of the most? Creatures hiding in the shadows and big, angry men. At least that's what I was afraid of the most. That's my take on it anyways.

2. What I took from El taking the bastard thing into oblivion was that she opened all the portals herself, she caused the hole to appear into the fabric of time. So did she have the ability to close those holes as well? Did she use the power of the beastie to close the hole and take her with it?

3. Part of the agreement that happened between Hop and the agency guys has something to do with him getting into the car at the end and him knowing that El is out there. I think in the next season he's going to work on bringing her back, against the best wishes of the agency guys. As far as we know Dude With White Hair died, but as is the case with these shows all the time... If you didn't see someone actually die, how can you be sure they're dead?

Fuck, even with a body you might not be dead in this show haha. Will looks to be harvesting some sort of creature from the Upside Down inside.
I can't wait for the next season to come out!

Seeing a lot of love for this all over the place.

Will start on this once I finish Deadwood - only got about 6-7 episodes of that left to go.
