The best thing is England now only being one place above Scotland!  If we have a good qualifying campaign and England continue their slide, we could go above them!!  LMAO!!

Obviously the Euros had a big effect on these rankings and they'll change again once competative games get going at the weekend.

Still, 15th for England and they wonder why they never get anywhere in major tournaments?  Shock horror, maybe they aren't that good!

We all know Fifa World Rankings are bollocks, the other systems better.

England have in recent years done very well in the world rankings, usually being in the top 5.

You've got to win competative games to get up there and England haven't been doing that on a regular basis for a long time.

What's the other system you mentioned Ally?

Well the other rankings take into account other factors.

For example, USA, they used to have a very high world ranking but yet not really do that well in major tournaments. Why? Because they played a team with a  population of 11 and beat them 71-0 whilst Europe played each other to death. The FIFA rankings weren't a fair reflection of world football, in fact Australia are a great example of this, playing like Fiji and Papa New Guine every other day whilst its like Spain Vs Portugal etc.

They are called the ELO rankings. This is used in chess and other sports. Its used in the womens variation of the FIFA World Rankings, although FIFA changed the world rankings recently to become more fair.
