Title: happy long weekend!
Post by: ! JDM The Professional ! on April 18, 2014, 03:47:50 AM
Happy easter everybody! I hope we all have a nice and relaxing break with friends and family. This is the first easter I haven't worked so I'm spending it with friends and family for a few days an hour from home.

What is everybody planning to do??

Being a pastor means this is a pretty busy weekend for me. Several church services on Sunday and dinner with the family.

Over here, next weekend is a holiday too for ANZAC day. So, I decided to take the 3 days between the long weekends off work, and am heading off to Singapore with the lady tomorrow!

Nice story but actually bollocks. Ishtar is pronounced like it looks and unless you are with a brace or are Sean Connery, Easter is Easter. Her animal symbol is the lion and not a bunny...

I plan on doing Sweet FA outside a visit from my family on Sunday. We had some wonderful news a month or so ago my brother and his wife are expecting their first child in October.

To be honest with so much travelling with my job I am using the 4 days to do pretty much nothing. Boring yes I know. However, you cant put a price on switching off for 4 days.

Honouring war veterans for Australia and New Zealand if memory serves me correct.

I've been for a run and relaxed a bit today. Still rehabbing from my sciatica. It's getting better. BBQ/Roast Dinner (depending on weather) at my parents tomorrow, writing a short essay for my new employers on Sunday before picking up my girlfriend who is on a Ferry going to Denmark and back as a marine mammal observer for a research foundation. Monday I will likely run and relax again. Back to work Tuesday for my final 3 days with my current employer before a wedding and then a week in Oman.

Well, not having a job pretty much means that it's more than a four-day weekend everyday. So there's that I guess.

We'll probably do a little grilling tomorrow, hunt some eggs on Sunday, and not much else.

I traveled back 100 miles last night from work, I'm off today then I have to make the trip back up tomorrow until Saturday so no such thing as a Easter break for me.

Enjoyed the weekend, cooked epic roast lamb cooked by my fair hands. Catch up dinner with friends yesterday but enjoyed doing very little. Now have a week off work (first in 6 months) then at a conference Friday and Saturday. Sneaking off conference early Saturday and off to see Fulham vs Hull.

I sat in the garden, in the blazing sunshine, with ice cold beers and good tunes.  It was absolute bliss!

Back to reality with a bump today but such is life.

Hope you all had a good break - if you actually got one.

Cheers,
Duckman

So my partner wasn't allowed on the flight to Singapore as she only had 4 months left on her passport. Apparently Singapore demands 6 months validity on a passport or they won't let you in. Seems a bit odd to me, like if someone ordered a gym membership for a year and then were told they're not allowed to use it for the last month (but they still have to pay!). That kind of screwed up our holiday plans, so we had to just go local in Australia. Was all right, but all of our money spent on that holiday went down the drain.

Wow, that stinks.  No chance at any sort of refund?

Doesn't look like it. Still working on that though.
