A few years ago I stumbled across http://www.amazon.com/Long-Way-Gone-Memoirs-Soldier/dp/0374105235 and was suitably appalled. And yes having watched Hotel Rwanda felt the same. These sorts of attrocities are not news to me by any means, but what strikes me now is that it's never been easier to raise awareness of this sort of thing and this is a good thing.

I did not particularly care for the video, I think it was handled in a somewhat cheesy manner but the raising awareness is what's important about it.

I'd rather see something like that doing the social media rounds than yet another picture of a cat with a somewhat human facial expression and a caption underneath that AlexK would groan at.

Buying a t-shirt and bracelet I'm not subscribing to: covering a city in posters to make people aware, now that's the kind of thing that will get things moving. Definitely taking part in the 20th April demonstration, no matter what you think of the charity or their expenses, the awareness side of things will hopefully get governments etc. involved and make sure the right people fight this.

Well to be honest as soon as this Kony '12 thing got going I probably took a different view to most the people anyways. Financially this "charity" just doesn't check out for me. I'll stick to my causes where I don't need to jump on a bandwagon and continue to support what I do in terms of donations and charity work.

I'll leave Morgan Spurlock Part 2 to continue running naked.

I don't strictly agree with it after doing a bit of reading up and talking to some people about it, but I don't think it should be news-worthy when someone who quite obviously suffers from bipolar disorder has a breakdown, regardless of whether they make hollywood hipster movies and take 69% profit on a "charity"
