QuoteCarry Me Back, the brand new record from Old Crow Medicine Show has finally been finished and will be released through ATO/Shock on Friday 20 July.

It has been over four years since the release of the band’s most recent record Tennessee Pusher, but we can forgive the long time between drinks given their hectic touring schedule, which has seen them pay a couple of visits to us down under.

Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly) took the producer’s role on this record, taking over from Don Was who worked on the last record and David Rawlings who was looking after the band’s production previously.

The new record is said to be a decent snapshot of the band from all throughout their career, but frontman Ketch Secor says that the songs on the new record were all “accidents waiting to happen”.

Old Crow also featured in a recent documentary called Big Easy Express, which documented their journey, along with Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, on the Railroad Revival Tour, where they travelled through the US on vintage train cars. A similar tour has been rumoured to hit Australia later this year. Watch the trailer for the doco below.

Fuck yes! Such a class band, high hopes for the new record!

Their new album is very country. Great music if you're into that stuff. Worth checking out. Not as good as their old stuff though.
