Title: Premiership Prediction Game 2010-2011
Post by: Adam Wrong on August 15, 2010, 06:27:43 AM
(Credit to Kenny for this part)

Welcome to the Premiership Prediction Game: Season 3

Every week, three Premiership fixtures will be selected by myself, and everyone who has signed up for the game should reply in this thread with their score-line predictions for each game.

Scoring will be as follows:

Every game in which a correct result is predicted will earn you one point.
Every game in which a correct score is predicted will earn you three points.

Three correct results (or combination of results and scores) = three bonus points
Three correct scores = six bonus points.

As such, there will be a maximum of 15 points available every week.

A tie in points over the course of the season will be broken firstly by number of correct scores you have predicted, and secondly, by number of bonus points collected.

Predictions will be accepted up until kick-off in the earliest fixture played.

Once all the fixtures for the gameweek are completed, I will edit this post to include the scores tallied by all entrants so far, add the new fixtures to be predicted, then clear all out of date predictions from the thread.

Updated Rule: Since we’ve done this in a signup format, anyone who doesn’t participate will be noted. Missing three weeks will result in your side going into “administration” and being docked 12 points. Missing another two will see you docked a further 20 points. Should you miss three games in a row, you will have the 12 points deduction and a 'Final Demand' You will have 48 hours to respond to a PM sent otherwise you will be eliminated from the league.

If you have not signed up but wish to play then do not hesitate to sign up in the sign up thread and then post your predictions for that week. Any predictions without a prior sign up will NOT be accepted.

Week 35 - 16th April 2011
Blackpool 1 vs. Wigan 3
West Brom 1 vs. Chelsea 3
Arsenal 1 vs. Liverpool 1

M.D.K. - 3 (1 Score)
Ian - 10 (2 Scores + 1 Result + 3 Bonus)
Rob - 8 (1 Score + 2 Results + 3 Bonus)
Duckman - 1 (1 Result)
Cory - 1 (1 Result)
Blade - 0 (1 No-Show)
Kirk - 2 (2 Results)

Overall Table:
(-) 1st - Duckman - 130 (43 Results + 17 Scores + 36 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) 2nd - M.D.K. - 129 (43 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 3rd - Rob - 126 (43 Results + 16 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(^1) =4th - Cory - 113 (45 Results + 13 Scores + 29 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(^2) =4th - Ian - 113 (49 Results + 10 Scores + 34 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(v2) =6th - Blade - 102 (41 Results + 13 Scores + 35 Bonus + 3 No-Shows)
(^1) =6th - Kirk - 102 (33 Results + 13 Scores + 30 Bonus + 1 No Show)
----------
XX - Sally - 27 (23 Results + 8 Scores + 12 Bonus + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated from League*
XX - El Mundo - -13 (10 Results + 3 Scores + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated From League*

Week 35 saw the biggest drop in league history as Blade went into administration and took a 12 point deduction. This embarrassingly didn't lift Kirk from last place though and merely began a wooden spoon share system with the holiday taking bastard. Ian Monks began a Fulham-esque end of season resurgance by getting 2 spot on. This plus Rob's amazing week and a lacklustre week for the canny Scot sees the league looking even tighter than ever with only 4 points separating 1st and 3rd while Ian's great weeks sees him pull the gap back to 13 points on 3rd place which could see him take 3rd place at the death. With 5 weeks left, how will it pan out?

Week 36 - 23rd April 2011
Aston Villa 1 vs. Stoke City 1
Blackpool 1 vs. Newcastle United 1
Sunderland 4 vs. Wigan Athletic 2

M.D.K. - 1 (1 Result)
Ian - 3 (1 Score)
Rob - 4 (1 Score + 1 Result)
Duckman - 0
Cory - 1 (1 Result)
Blade - 0 (1 No-Show)
Kirk - 0

Overall Table:
(-) =1st - Duckman - 130 (43 Results + 17 Scores + 36 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(^1) =1st - M.D.K. - 130 (44 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(^2) =1st - Rob - 130 (44 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 4th - Ian - 116 (49 Results + 11 Scores + 34 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(v1) 5th - Cory - 114 (46 Results + 13 Scores + 29 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) =6th - Blade - 102 (41 Results + 13 Scores + 35 Bonus + 4 No-Shows)
(-) =6th - Kirk - 102 (33 Results + 13 Scores + 30 Bonus + 1 No Show)
----------
XX - Sally - 27 (23 Results + 8 Scores + 12 Bonus + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated from League*
XX - El Mundo - -13 (10 Results + 3 Scores + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated From League*

Simply amazing! After a great week for Rob, a standard week for M.D.K. and a scoreless week for Duckman, we have a 3 way tie at the top of the league for the first time this season. This league can not be tighter! Meanwhile Ian keeps up with the lead pack and pulls away from Cory while Kirk's scoreless week sees him fail to capitalise on Blade's 4th league no-show.

With only 4 weeks to go, who can take this home?

Week 37 - 30th April 2011
Sunderland 0 vs. Fulham 3
Blackpool 0 vs. Stoke City 0
Wigan Athletic 1 vs. Everton 1

M.D.K. - 1 (1 Result)
Ian - 1 (1 Result)
Rob - 0
Duckman - 2 (2 Results)
Cory - 0
Blade - 0
Kirk - 0

Overall Table:
(-) 1st - Duckman - 132 (45 Results + 17 Scores + 36 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(v1) 2nd - M.D.K. - 131 (45 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(v2) 3rd - Rob - 130 (44 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 4th - Ian - 117 (50 Results + 11 Scores + 34 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) 5th - Cory - 114 (46 Results + 13 Scores + 29 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) =6th - Blade - 102 (41 Results + 13 Scores + 35 Bonus + 4 No-Shows)
(-) =6th - Kirk - 102 (33 Results + 13 Scores + 30 Bonus + 1 No Show)
----------
XX - Sally - 27 (23 Results + 8 Scores + 12 Bonus + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated from League*
XX - El Mundo - -13 (10 Results + 3 Scores + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated From League*

Well a low scoring week sees the top three seperate again with Duckman regaining his sole pole position. M.D.K. pulls away from Rob who scores nothing and allows Ian to slowly claw back another point on Rob. 3 Weeks to go and it couldn't be tighter.

Week 38 - May 7th 2011
Wolves 3 vs. West Brom 1
Stoke City 3 vs. Arsenal 1
Manchester United 2 vs. Chelsea 1

M.D.K. - 1 (1 Result)
Ian - 4 (1 Score + 1 Result)
Rob - 0
Duckman - 1 (1 Result)
Cory - 3 (1 Score)
Blade - 1 (1 Result)
Kirk - 2 (2 Results)

Overall Table:
(-) 1st - Duckman - 133 (46 Results + 17 Scores + 36 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) 2nd - M.D.K. - 132 (46 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 3rd - Rob - 130 (44 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 4th - Ian - 121 (51 Results + 12 Scores + 34 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) 5th - Cory - 117 (46 Results + 14 Scores + 29 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(-) 6th - Kirk - 104 (35 Results + 13 Scores + 30 Bonus + 1 No Show)
(v1) 7th - Blade - 103 (42 Results + 13 Scores + 35 Bonus + 4 No-Shows)
----------
XX - Sally - 27 (23 Results + 8 Scores + 12 Bonus + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated from League*
XX - El Mundo - -13 (10 Results + 3 Scores + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated From League*

No change at the top but a second scoreless week in a row for Rob sees Ian closing the gap to 9 points! Can he pull it back? At the bottom, Kirk moves from the bottom with Blade taking sole ownership of the wooden spoon! 2 Weeks to go with a special final week ahead of us!

Week 39 - 14th May 2011

Birmingham 0 vs. Fulham 2
Wigan 3 vs. West Ham 2

M.D.K. - 0
Ian - 1 (1 Result)
Rob - 3 (1 Score)
Duckman - 1 (1 Result)
Cory - 1 (1 Result)
Blade - 0
Kirk - 1 (1 Result)

Overall Table:
(-) 1st - Duckman - 134 (47 Results + 17 Scores + 36 Bonus + 1 No-Show)
(^1) 2nd - Rob - 133 (44 Results + 18 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(v1) 3rd - M.D.K. - 132 (46 Results + 17 Scores + 35 Bonus)
(-) 4th - Ian - 122 (52 Results + 12 Scores + 34 Bonus + 1 No-Show)

XX - Sally - 27 (23 Results + 8 Scores + 12 Bonus + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated from League*
XX - El Mundo - -13 (10 Results + 3 Scores + 5 No Shows) *Eliminated From League*

Well... 2nd and 3rd swap places with Rob sneaking it but his points are some of the most significent in a while. Rob has scored a perfect result meaning this season he has hit 18 - which is more than anyone else. Should he score 1 more than Duckman on the last day of the season then Rob will win the league based on scores predicted. Final day of the season and you know what? Let's do EVERY SINGLE MATCH! Same as Xmas bonuses

3 results - 3 points
3 scores - 6 points
6 results - 6 points
6 scores - 12 points
10 results - 10 points
10 scores - 20 points

Meaning a successful day could see you rake in 50 points! It all hangs on this weeks scores! Can Duckman be pipped at the post? Can Ian's late resurgance reap the rewards? Find out!

Wolves vs.  Blackburn
Stoke vs. Wigan

Yes but you think Everton will beat Chelsea, Arsenal will draw and that Spurs will somehow manage to beat a lesser team which they have struggled doing all season.

AND IT IS ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OVER!

In a day that everybody changed positions in the league, our league winner is none other than Rob!

*Cue Fanfare*

Yes Rob narrowly edged M.D.K. by 1 SOLITARY POINT! Which was a huge shock for Rob who assumed it was a 2 horse race with him and the Scottish version of Arsenal, Duckman who inevitably caved in on the final day. Cory made a final flourish to take 4th while Ian dropped to fifth and after being punished for his coardice, Kirk takes the wooden spoon with an embarrasing performance. Congratulations to Rob who clinches the title for the first time and let's look forward to next season...

Well played Rob, was a hell of a battle for the whole season - just what these kind of games should be.  I didn't think I'd hold out to win it but it was a great game all round.

AND AT LEAST FUCKING CORY DIDN'T WIN ANOTHER FOOTBALL GAME!!!!!  WOOOOOO HOOOOO.

No offence Cory but it's a real punch in the nuts for us Brits to see a Maple syrup muncher keep on winning these games! :)

Fucking awesome job by MDK running this and improving on the original format with plenty of special rounds and twists and turns.

Just an all round top job Adam and a big thanks for all your efforts this season.  Top bloke, top game.

Now, who has the champers??

Peace

Duckman
