Sam and Russ for running the TFWF like a well oiled machine in my absence from the fed due to holidays. The fed has never looked better and its so refreshing to be a fan for a bit and read the tremendous way TFWF has been booked in my absence. These two are also spear heading the next TFWF PPV Autumn Annihilation on the basis of their hard work it was the most logical thing to do. Thanks lads, a testament to them as characters as well as how valuable the pair are to our game.
The TFWF Board for supporting Sam and Russ in my absence. As usual the board delivered so thanks to Marc, Cool Bryan, David and Steven for being superb as always

I work at a church and have a family of a church member who just won the lottery--not just a few thousands but millions. For the past few years, he's written us a check for $5200 for the sole purpose of allowing us to hand out $100 a week to people who might need it around this time of the year. I was in Toys-R-Us yesterday getting a few Christmas presents for my son and there was a lady in front of me cussing out the young man working behind then counter. After she left, he looked absolutely destroyed and was ready to kick the bucket. I was able to slip out an envelope that only said "Somebody Cares" on the front of it and hand him a $100 bill.
There is nothing that tops that feeling of doing something for someone else. That's as deserving of a spot on the Awesome List as I could come up with.

After 3 years my boss FINALLY admitted to others that he appreciates my work kind of. My HR caught him talking to himself while working on our schedule and he said something along the lines of wishing he could just replace the all the idiots shifts with me since I can do like 5 jobs at once anyways. Just that little remark made my day if only for the fact that I usually feel under-appreciated at work no matter how much I do.
Also I had a customer tell me how great it was to see someone at a store in such a great mood during the holidays since usually retail people have the look of kill me.
Oh and I got to spend almost my whole shift in the back just boxing up toys to be shipped to peoples homes while blasting my music and not having to deal with customers. today was a pretty damn good day.

For the past 5 weeks I was stuck at home, because my boss didn't call me in to work and when I called every monday they said they would call me. Yesterday I was sick and tired of either not knowing if I was fired, or if the company was tanking, and after sending out my portfolio to a lot of places (not having a BA fucked me), I posted on facebook that I was looking for work at any print job, ad agency and if anyone knew anything to call me, basically did this so my boss would see it . 5 hours later my boss called me saying I wasn't fired, that I didn't need to look for work and if I wanted to come in to work today, went to work and they said I could come back tommorow. My master plan of posting that on facebook to scare them worked :)

as u can see, its completely made out of chocolate; board included. it took me 9 hrs 47 min start to finish using 1lb 6.5 oz milk chocolate, 1lb 5.5 oz dark chocolate, and 3lbs 0.5oz pastel white chocolate made just today. if u look close enuff, u can see some mistakes here n there but for a first try in a house kitchen compared to a commercial kitchen. all things considered it doesnt look bad at all. VOTE FOR ME and it could be urs :-p.

He's also hooked me up with some free classes/seminars on game production which have been helpful.
FINALLY
Through this process, I have gotten the contact info for the Director of HR/Recruiting over at THQ for the WWE games and I've just sent over an email...so hopefully I hear back from them soon.
In summary, I didn't get the job, which should put me in the 'Fuck List' but it's been such a great experience and I've walked away with so many contacts, I can't help but look at it positively.
Though, it's the first time I've ever interviewed for a position and NOT gotten the job...so that stings...but like I said, it's all good and I expect big things to come from it!

More important than your diploma. FACT. Stay in contact, keep things casual, but always have your passion be your most obvious quality.

My three girls almost never took to potty training, especially my oldest. All three quit the bottle and pacifiers pretty easily and early, but they made up for it in their refusal to pee in the potty.

Man I feel you, I was really starting to wonder about her in the beginning. She still complains about it now a lil but at least she actually goes IN the potty. Eventful weekend for me.
Scored 3 days off in a row, never happens.
Spent Saturday morning at the 2012 Autism walk, did a bit of networking with managers from other stores in my company, met some real awesome people, and even managed to raise a little bit of money for the cause.
Spent Saturday night with some great friends just drinking and playing games like we used to.
Spent all day Sunday at an old friends house, partying with his family. Probably one of the oldest friends I have and just had fun getting to talk about the old days when the neighborhood was different.
Today I get to hang out all day with my best friend and just blow off any leftover steam before going back to work tomorrow. Fun times all around
Had a phone interview today with an international law firm. Should hear something within a week about the next step.
I deleted facebook... it was really showing me the most disturbingly idiotic zombified aspects of humanity. I feel cleaner already. I found somewhere online to store my photos which was really the last practical use I had for it.

Not a better feeling in the world than watching your little brother get married I believe.
It was an awesome day and to top it off I was his bestman. The speech I delivered did truly deliver. Post speech I had drinks bought for me all night long and even the photographers and wedding planners sought me out to say that it was the best bestman's speech they had ever heard.
That of course topped off what was an amazing night all around. Pretty much on cloud 9 right now and next week marks...one year till my own big day.

Finally got myself a J-O-B!!
After 2 years of Health scares, operations, radiotherapy, medication changes. I went from giving up my own pub/restaurant to training as a sports coach, and although its only part time its with a great company that can only improve on that! Fucking over the moon because at one stage was never sure what I was going to do because all of my training was in restaurants/kitchens and was 'advised' by my consultants not to enter that business again.
And 13 days ago my wife gave birth to my second child.
Am so over the moon at the moment, 2 years of scares and worries and things are finally falling back into place!!
So this is gonna be a weird entry cause its a mix of bad but good news. Some of you probably noticed I was away for a while from the boards, posting only on the SB for ppvs. I was actually a little bit depressed cause my job sucked, I had literally started to lose my love and passion for graphic design. I started thinking of going back to school to study something else (was planning on finishing my BA in Graphic Design late last year), then I found out the goverment was helping people start their own business. I had always wanted to either launch my clothing line or my own design studio. Decided to go the safer route and plan for the design studio. Last week 2 things happened, one of my frat brothers who I've known since he was a baby killed himself, that day was horrible as fuck but it was the last bad day I had. Day after one of my best friends who has photography and graphic design studio called me, saying he had been hired to design and entire magazine and need help. We met, and he decided to hire me not only for the magazine but to work in his studio, now I can say fuck you to my old bosses who were the most disorganized bunch of fuckers ever. We talked it over, and we have decided that Im gonna keep trying to get the goverment loan, expand the studio he already has, (he has a hell of a client list included Masseratti PR), and I would take over all graphic design (which he hates), and he would concentrate on video/photography. So work wise Gary very happy, to top it off, my little cousin got engaged the same day so Im now anxious to get fucking drunk at her wedding cause her friends are hot (and by little I mean she is 25 and so are all her hot single friends).
great to hear Gary, you helped me out with my business logo and I've seen your talent expressed numerous times on these boards. hope all goes well my brother.

Went to the doctor yesterday. Since I was in the hospital a couple weeks back, I've been feeling down one day and good for the next couple days and then really down the next. I kinda feel like my testerone levels are dipping low and feel no motivation. So my doctor gave me a list of foods that she feels can help me. Then she told my wife that more sex on my down days would help until my levels return to normal. Damn, I gots a great doctor.

I have 2 interviews next week for 2 of the biggest jobs in my life and been approached by Sheffield Childrens Hospital about becoming their pharmacy manager. Life goals potentially achieved 3 years ahead of schedule for the win...
One of the interviews involves being responsible for pharmacies and all medication related outlets across a huge chunk of the UK (North Yorkshire for the Brits.)

Yep, GM Franchise is in Vegas. RAW is sold out. USA game was sold out last week. Did get my tickets to Lakers and Clippers preseason games in October today too. Yeah, as you can tell I'm big on basketball. That would be the only pro-sport that would work here in Vegas.

Once my background check processes I'm gonna be offered a job at a local grocery store. Not glamorous but I'll finally have an income again.
I've been conducting an independent study with a student trying to train her left brain to conceptualize developmental mathematics. She's 80% blind in the left eye on top of having a disease that causes mental deterioration of some kind. Well she passed all her tests which is amazing for her AND as a parting gift she gave me a 12 year old bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile.
Oh and I just got a house which is for some reason surprisingly less significant to me right now. Though I do know what I'll be drinking on my first official night moved in haha.

Has the greatest parents ever. Got back from V festival to discover my laptop hd given up the ghost. Went to get it repaired and was told it would cost more than the laptop itself. My dad spoke to my half brother who has sent a brand spanking new sexy as hell laptop from his work where he gets epic discounts (essentially gets them trade price.)
Dad bought one off of him and has given it to me and i was expecting to pay for it but they have told me that it is a gift and now here I am ready to rp for the ET tournament!
My mate and his missus had a baby boy. Apparently it was 55 cms long.
I moved to Perth in Australia last Friday (from New Zealand). In this week, I already have a job doing exactly what I want to be doing (working with children with autism), and have an apartment right next to the ocean. Seems like a good decision so far.

Have wheels again, have power, heat and now Internet, was told will have unemployment claim for the eight days the machine shop was closed down in my account within 48hours, my kid is back to school, almost caught up with bills, still have a boarded up window and have to sleep in a different room because of the holes in the roof, but really life seems almost settled once more. And quite enjoyable tbh :)
For those that don't know, I've been writing for a University of Kentucky sports website for the past two years, Nationofblue.com. Mostly opinion pieces and game previews, but it's an awesome outlet for writing about something I love.
Tomorrow, for the first time, I'll be getting press credentials and I'll be working my first game in-person. I'm over the moon right now, this is a pretty big deal, sitting with the local and national press and watching a game from the media's standpoint. It'll be hard not to cheer for the team while I'm there (a big no-no, apparently), but I'm super stoked.
Thanksgiving is little lonely for me this year ...all my family is out of state , hell my big sister and her family are out of the country in Japan... I did not want to intrude on one of my friends dinners . being I had no place to be .... I work this Thanksgiving .

See I have this laptop ... it a Toshiba, few years old , 5 or 6 and the screen is crack Reason it is crack is because my nephew knock it to the floor . There are black spots on the screen , there dead spots . machine is just plain old , but hey it gets the job done ...
Well I like to get online at Starbucks a lot. This young couple has seen me using the crack laptop when I am there , which pretty much all the time...So yesterday just before I start my shift , The couple come into the restaurant, ask me to come outside and they gave me a laptop
A FREAKING FREE LAPTOP... I was and I am still speechless ... such Nice people they did not have to do that .. but God bless them for it ... it lifted me up and help me make through the night and into the morning ... Black Friday is no joke .
now going to spend some time making this laptop is up to where I had had my old one ... but I wish these people only the best things in life . There are nice people still in the world

Accomplished one of my life's dreams by going to the Ohio State/Michigan game. Bucks won too which was an added bonus. Everything was amazing!

The community that I live in is has one of the largest homeless populations in all of the United States... a statistic that I thought was absolutely staggering.
A new homeless shelter was dreamt up a few months ago and that dream has finally become a reality. An old bakery was purchased and renovated to create an overnight shelter. It's basically a hotel - those who are homeless can come check-in, get a few hygiene products, take a shower, and sleep in an actual bed. The way it's been setup is that they have to check out every evening but they can return as long as their is room - this has to do with some of the laws in my state. It's a little different than a place like the Salvation Army where there is a set number of nights you're allowed to stay in a time period.
I've spent a number of hours over the past few months helping this become a reality; it's been pretty sweet to see people come together to meet a physical need in the community. Here is a picture of the temporary quarters:

There are plans for a more permanent facility where those who are homeless can receive drug and alcohol counseling, job training, and learn practical skills to help get those back on their feet. It's a pretty awesome sight to see so close to the holidays.

I inadvertently got roped into coaching my son's basketball team. This was almost going to go on the fuck list because I know nothing about basketball, but the team and I have been having a lot of fun so far. Hopefully we won't get annihilated to a demoralizing state when the games start but so far they have all left practices with a smile on their face :) so yeah, awesome list material it is then.
DQ ... you don't have to know anything about B-ball ... as long the kids are having fun it all good ...

What CRM system were you installing?
Migrating from an outdated and horrible Siebel installation to Salesforce.com. Required a LOT of custom coding on our SFDC installation to integrate with our internal systems.
Actually went out for Valentines day on Thursday which is a first, than went to a bar at midnight for a friends bday, one drink turned into going to all of us going to another friends house (who happens to be a bartender) and not me not getting home until 7 the next morning.
Went out clubbing last night for another friends bday, got into all the clubs for free. Made friends with and partied with an ex stripper, actually didn't feel like a social loser being surrounded by my friend and her friends.
Going to the NASCAR race in town my birthday weekend.
Just signed up for Graduate College at UNLV.

So you guys may have noticed I've been more or less absent from the site over the last few weeks. Reason behind that is, I got a promotion at work again. I'm now the Managing Supervisor for the warehouse, pretty much means I'm allowed to open or close the store without one of the other managers there. Unfortunately for me that also means a lot of turnarounds. They love having me close the night before my trucks to set everything up than come back in the morning to work them. Honestly this is the most tired I have been in a long time, but at the same time I love it.

What exactly is the Royal Fleet Auxiliary?
It's a civilian division of the Royal Navy, I believe. They supply the navy and army through RAS missions, and help with training support as well.
What B said. Civilian manned Ministry of Defence ships that sail the world keeping Navy ships at sea. They also assist with disaster relief, humanitarian mission and get involved in the war on international drug smuggling.
Would be a massive change in my life if I got in.

So since having two children, my girlfriend has become less than happy with her figure. Which, unfortunately, has caused her to go in to a bit of a depression. Nothing serious or anything, but her self esteem has dropped dramatically in the last couple of years and nothing I've been able to say or do has managed to help. Despite her not being happy about her appearance(which, honestly, isn't that bad. She's being overly critical which happens sometimes I suppose)she hasn't had the motivation to do anything about it because she's never seen anything that actually ever worked for anyone else we know.
Earlier today I was screwing around on Reddit and there was a thread about Scott Hall getting healthier again. She's not exactly a wrestling fan, but she knew that Hall was in less than stellar condition, and that nothing seemed to help him. She asked what he was doing differently and I told her about the whole thing with DDP and Jake the Snake, and the subject of DDP Yoga came up. We went to the site, watched a couple of videos, and for the first time in a couple months I saw her look excited. We don't have the money now, but Wednesday we plan on ordering the basic package and are going to try it out.
TL;DR - DDP Yoga has inspired my baby mama to try and get her self esteem back.

Nothing serious or anything, but her self esteem has dropped dramatically in the last couple of years and nothing I've been able to say or do has managed to help. Despite her not being happy about her appearance(which, honestly, isn't that bad. She's being overly critical which happens sometimes I suppose)she hasn't had the motivation to do anything about it because she's never seen anything that actually ever worked for anyone else we know.
Earlier today I was screwing around on Reddit and there was a thread about Scott Hall getting healthier again. She's not exactly a wrestling fan, but she knew that Hall was in less than stellar condition, and that nothing seemed to help him. She asked what he was doing differently and I told her about the whole thing with DDP and Jake the Snake, and the subject of DDP Yoga came up. We went to the site, watched a couple of videos, and for the first time in a couple months I saw her look excited. We don't have the money now, but Wednesday we plan on ordering the basic package and are going to try it out.
TL;DR - DDP Yoga has inspired my baby mama to try and get her self esteem back.

Just had a bit of a week from hell. The organization I work for runs a youth centre and the person who is in charge of it got sick this week (something about ovaries, she explained to me but yeah, nothing major just unconfortable) and so, in a pickle, my organization asked me if I could run the youth centre this week. Where I work is a little ways from where I live, not too far go drive but a bit too expensive to drive everyday, I stay up in this community for 5 on 5 off. Because I was the only person able to run the centre other than the lady in charge of it (background checks done with the partner agencies, the youth centre is hosted in our partner agency's building and last year, I did some volunteer work with them), it was either I did it or it was closed down for the week. I thought it'd be fun so I said yes.
Thing is though, I forgot, Im super shy around new people. Its not usually bad at all because Im usually surrounded in places I know 'the scripts' (ie what to say and how to act) or the places are places Im quite familiar (usually my field doesnt wield too many new surprises) but this week, I was running a youth centre Id only volunteered at once, overseeing staff of 5 that Id never met (complicated bureaucracy, my organization runs the centre and is in charge of everything, the other workers work for our partner agency and are focused on the youth who come, relations with them, and just with them, they leave the running of the centre to us), and generally overseeing youth Ive never met before. It was terrifying.
So, on top of my usual 12 hour shifts, meetings, case meetings, follow-up meetings (with police and social workers for events that happened while I was on shift, usually minor and take 5 minutes but still) and all that, I probably put in 55-58 hours of work in 3 days (with two 4 hour sleeps and a 5 hour sleep). Granted, my work isn't that labour intensive (I played games for most of my shifts when there was no youth at the house) but still, it was a rough week.
Yet somehow, it was awesome. I dont know why, I dont know how but somehow, I saw more growth in my organization than Ive ever seen. Things just clicked and came together and, despite the fact I felt I could have done better in every aspect, the reports all stated I did a tremendous job running the centre. Looking back, despite feeling that I was dropping the ball in everything, other than running a bit behind on a couple things (I guess opening the centre doors five minutes late wasn't the tragedy I thought it was lol), I can't really think of anything I did wrong or messed up on.
At the time, everything sucked. Because of it, lots of awesomeness

Just to update on my progress, I spent 10 hours in my car going to the Naval Base in Portsmouth today for an interview at the RFA Recruitment office - I am through to the next stage and will be facing the Admiralty Interview Board at HMS Sultan at the beginning of August.

On friday, my nursery had what our local authority call the Annual Single Conversation where they send one of their Early Years Consultants in to do an Ofsted style inspection and grade us based on 6 areas of inspection, giving us a colour of red, amber, green or dark green. You get red, and you're basically being told you're shit and need serious support, which is where we were 4 and a half years ago when I started there.
Your colour rating depends on how many of the areas get what colour. So if you get 4 green areas and 2 amber, you get a green overall.
We got dark green overall after getting dark green in ALL SIX areas.
We've worked so hard as a team over the last 2 years to improve on what Ofsted suggested at inspection and I'm so proud of everyone's work for getting us there. Its been a stressful couple of weeks preparing for it, but we did it.
Promotion coming. Full-Time Professor soon to be. I'm stoked!

I've got a child with downs syndrome in my key group (I'm a childcare professional) and I've got one that we think has got at least a developmental delay. We're going to speak to mum when he returns in September to see about getting the ball rolling with support.
And I'm gaining one in September who wears hearing aids. They're pushing for me to have her because I'm a huge advocate of Makaton and use it all the time around the nursery to help support our EAL children (22% of our entire register of children), so they want me to sign with her to help her understand better.
I've got quite a special little group.
Big shout out to MDK, JDM and James who are all kicking ass on the job front.
Well done guys, it's great to see people I know through EFK making great strides in their real life employment.

I love this thread. So good to see so much positivity. It's amazing some uninformed people still believe EFK is unfriendly and elitist...poor misguided saps.
This is a general, well done to everyone making strides in work, life, anything really.
My addition to the list is Good Old JR, Jim Ross. Went to see him in Glasgow where he spoke for 90 mins on his career, then did a two hour Q and A. Place was sold out, around 300 people there. It was one of the most interesting, funny, informative and inspiring few hours of my life.
Obviously I'm a full on wrestling nerd and was marking out just to be in the same room as JR but above that I just found him to be an incredibly humble, smart and honest guy.
The only word to sum up the night is awesome, so that's why I'm posting here! I've got a full review of the night on MFX this week too!

That's amazing! I'm really looking forward to hearing your review. I watched a few full length interviews with JR, not slanderous shoot's, just stories on his life, listened to the Steve Austin podcast with him, watched the Bill Watts shoot and he speaks a lot about JR, as does Cornette who didn't have a bad word to say about JR when he was head of talent relations, which is rare because Cornette hates everybody. He is an utterly fascinating bloke, what a history and life he has had. So I'm a little bit jealous of you.
Just an update, I went to Dorchester today. I had officially one days notice to get m butt down there and it was totally awesome, I found that I was nominated as being the top talent in my store and one of the top in the district which is humbling. The fortunate thing is this training is a ticket into a promotion... and with possibilities opening up in my store once I've finished the training, it's basically a route into management. Which is what I've been aiming for, for about a year now. It's great to finally get into this position. Fingers crossed the good luck continues.
The non-awesome news however is I'm less thna a week away from Bestival and my ticket still hasn't arrived, and the fucks at Ticketline are useless!
I had to wait for a higher background check to finish this week, but I just found out last night it's official. I got promoted at work.
It's alot more money, a retirement plan, and while it's more responsibility it's less work because I get a bunch more minions.

I go in for orientation tomorrow, start training next week.
I'll be taking orders for companies and for customers, over the phone (no cold calls) as well as possible dispatch/assistance for an On Star like company.
They were impressed with my phone voice and my WPM ability.
I guess all those years of perfecting the golden voice and typing up long ass RP's has paid off!

DMIT. I go from running my own store to running a half dozen until a full fledged district opens up and/or we expand and they create one. It's a waiting tier between Store Manager and District Director.

I hope to add myself to this list at the weekend as I have a 3 day assessment from Sun-Tues, the final stage in my application to join the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Should I be successful, from May next year my life will change beyond recognition. I'm confident, excited, nervous, relaxed and terrified all at the same time.
Gatta start this off with some sucky news, but I promise the awesome stuff comes after.
My step dad was on the way home from work last week and someone failed to stop at a yield sign and he had to lay the bike down to prevent from running into the car. So he laid it down and ended up breaking his ankle, and there is a few other minor things, they say if he was not wearing his helmet he would not be alive.
The bike itself actually only has a couple minor things wrong with it, but I doubt he'll ever ride it again after what happened, but unto the awesome part.
Well they got news today that the women insurance has declared the accident 100 percent their fault and they will be paying for everything, so the 10,000 dollar surgery the hospital wanted upfront next week will be paid in full by the insurance, and then anything else that he will need because they will are worried about something on his hip that they need to look at again, but they are being very positive about it.
Sorry to hear about that Tezz. I hope your step Dad makes a full recovery. At least the insurance, for once, is paying out!

Went down to HMS Sultan on Sunday for two intense days of tests and leadership exercises in front of the Admiralty Interview Board and I passed! Next year I will head to British Royal Naval College Dartmouth for basic training and then off to Maritime College for 3 years to become a Deck Officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary!
Not only that, I'm heading down to London on Saturday to meet up with Mr Abrigo, Russ, MDK and hopefully Mr Trumps.

Freelance work has been picking up like crazy here's one thing that's pretty awesome though: I've started working with an upstart consulting firm on their branding (logos and stuff) and the guy running it is offering to help me get connected with the different people he works with on a regular basis. One such connection has already been made, and I'm working on the website for a sort of street fight type company that's being developed. I'm not big into fighting like that, but it's a decent enough job with a few potential perks like possibly going to their events and stuff, so it's all good by me lol.
The weirdest about all this is simply the fact the guy really likes my work, but I think it only feels weird because I can be kinda hard on myself sometimes, lol. Meeting with the guy let me show off my different work, and I got to bring up the different things I'm working on at the moment (including the MFX shirts, but I don't know if he's actually seen those yet LOL).

Just got the call that I officially start my second job on Thursday
Soooo... for those that don't know, a funny Facebook status I'd written about "GTA: Online" got me the opportunity to work with gaming/pop-culture juggernaut, IGN, here in the Bay Area.
My first piece of content? Doing a fun-filled, reference-laden commentary on "WWE 2K14" for the PS3. Not sure when it goes live, but you'll hear me making jokes and pretending to be a producer for "Marks For Xcellence" just so I have an excuse to plug the show.
Watch for it, and please share with your friends! If the video gets a decent amount of hits and good feedback, it'll add more fuel to the fire to bring me back (which apparently, they already want me to do, but more praise is always welcome)! :)

So if I put everything down on paper that's happened to me with my job over the last 3 months, it would look great. I mean I'm doing well out of it, I'm running the shop a lot of the time - heck, I'm running it solo tomorrow during our single busiest period of the year.
Just feeling really good about the job tomorrow, even though about a month ago I thought we were being closed. Well, that isn't happening. So the awesome thing is I'm still going to have a job beyond January 17th!
Graduate tomorrow from my masters course. Think it should be in here not the moaning thread. Even if the real world awaits >_>

Got given a new program at work.
This one is actually getting close to things I know about (ish) [unlike tech support (Go ahead Judge, you can laugh at that thought.)]
But it has to do with an MMA (I think it's MMA) company and it's new shop that just went live today.
I've been learning a lot of programs as of late as my supervisor told me she can see me getting Escalation (the bridge between call agent and Supe) with ease, and even becoming a Supervisor by the end of the year.
So good news on two fronts.
And found it kinda awesome that well.. MMA, how cool is that?!
The guy who runs the program gave me this weird look once I started spouting some things off, not much mind you as I don't know that much.
However, I'm not too sure how busy it's going to be with this program. They're not expecting a high call rate (maybe ten calls a day -max-) but I felt like I should share.
Sure as hell beats roadside assistance on any given day. (But I still have to do that too)

as you guys know , i got a new job . been working my ass off for the last three months , first training than transition and than I get on put my own team. I have been ripping shit up as my supervisor has been telling me. For the last two months I have made bonus for my sales ( june i was the top agent on my team ...I pop a thousand dollar bonus ;D ) and I been promoted to the top sales team ... it more money on my check ( I get extra dollar ) and get shot at making higher bonuses , it call splits team . means that I work 4 hours in the morning and take a short break and than work four more hours in the evening . the prime hours for the center.
it taking some time getting use to getting up early in the morning , just wanted you all to know why i have not been around as much as i been before. All I can ask if you all pray for a brother lol

Just got back from a military exercise on Dartmoor. Pretty sure I passed but find out on Friday. Really intense time the last six weeks but I am now 9 days away from passing out of Britannia Royal Naval College, the same college where Kings and Princes have passed out (and were the Queen met her husband) and it all feels worth it.
I will post a pic or two once the event rolls around, but damn I'm happy that I've got this far and also that I get to go home soon. I've only seen my girlfriend for 90 minutes since May 13th, and I haven't seen anybody else that I knew before I got here in that time. Bring it on!

Just a short update - I passed the exercise so Thursday next week I will be involved in the passing out ceremony in front of friends, families, military hierarchy and VIPs. Delighted. Will get a couple of pics once the dust settles.

Slightly belated awesome but I landed myself a summer job thanks to my brother. Part time hours but incredibly good pay.
I also now finally have all of my medication for my transition (as of about two months ago), which makes me a happy camper indeed.

Well I did it! Passed out of Britannia Royal Naval College. Had an excellent time there, enjoyed the Summer Ball (really enjoyed the Summer Ball - my liver will pay), made some great new friends and started my career with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. It feels strange to have such a radical difference with what my new career will be but I am looking forward to the next challenge, which will be the start of my Academic studies at Fleetwood Nautical College in September. Until then, I have a few weeks leave and some paper work to sort out, and a new wardrobe to buy because of all the stuff I've been given (seriously - 8 pairs of shoes).
So yeah, things are pretty good right now.

Went to work today to start getting my classroom set up. Got a lot more done than I thought I would and just missed the flash flooding and heavy rains while driving home too.
Going to RAW tonight.
Plan on being a teacher for local technical college. I am looking at the requirements and I could be done in the next seven year.
Recently finished my first "real" job, working at a Christian summer camp as audio/visual tech. Turned knobs on a soundboard among other things, but I also got to assist with more general camp program stuff. Lots of stories that can be shared, but I'm mostly just glad I got the opportunity to get involved with something this summer.
Side note, currently working on an application for a graphic designer position. Hopefully something can come of this.
Good news we seem to be on the move. I sold our place myself and we have had an offer accepted on one we are interested in. Overall great news for the future of Team Trumps.
Went to a three day country music festival here in Vegas and it was AWESOME. Best three day weekend I've had in a long time.

The hospital I work at has just found it within their hearts to give out raises for the first time in 2 years. Starting next year, I'll be making almost $1.50 more per hour. Of course the cost of benefits are going up too, but hey, it's the thought that counts right?!?

Yeah, good for you, there are a lot of wage freezes about these days, but no cost of living freezes, so at least you're keeping up somewhat.
Good to hear Mike. As a public sector worker in the UK, my pay has been frozen for the last four years. Given the rise in cost of living, this has actually been a 5% pay cut in real terms. Which sucks! Good to know some people are getting the chance to keep up with the rising cost of living these days.

This isn't something saying I've finished a novel, but since the new year, I've been showing a kind of discipline that I frankly didn't think I had in me and forcing myself to sit down and write at least 1,000 words every day. I'm currently at 14,000 in the two weeks since the new year (before today's words, as I have been working on an essay -_-), and I just feel great about it - it's an unprecedented amount of productivity apart from nanowrimo, which burned me out. More motivated than I've been in a long time, and starting to get this little bit of belief that this is actually the novel that I'm going to complete.
Good stuff Jenn! I have a couple of examples of 40-50k word books that I've never finished somewhere on my hard drive.
I got my first ship appointment today. With effect from the 11th Feb (or thereabouts, these things are subject to change) I'll be gone for 4 months.
I can't tell you where and when I'll be exactly, military secrets and all that, but I will get to take in parts of the Mediterranean and the Arabian Gulf during my time away. Really excited because I know I'm going to be doing some cool shit, like flight training, anti-piracy patrols and diplomatic stuff too.

Awesome week! Managed to see my beloved CPFC beat Southampton at St Marys on Saturday, passed my theory test today with very little revision and off to see Bournemouth vs Watford tomorrow night! Things be good :D
After months of hating my job I finally decided today to say fuck it and am turning in my notice. I've saved up enough money for 3 months worth of bills while I look for something better

Life On Mars original air date was on my 15th birthday. This would've been cool if I'd started watching it from the start, but when I first saw trailers I thought it was some kind of weird documentary. Given that I was a Bowie fan, I really should've known better.

A fantastic time was had at my cousin Joe's wedding over the weekend. So great to see family I haven't seen in a decade. A lovely ceremony and an amazing meal/party afterwards - including a free bar for the first 2 hours!
Got hammered, met some new awesome people, welcomed Lizzie (the bride) into our family, and we were warmly welcomed into hers. Just a damn fun weekend (despite some incredibly annoying train travel) and something I'm really glad I made the effort to go to.

I'm getting promoted, which basically for the last several months I've been pretty much doing the job anyway, and I'm getting a raise. Not entirely sure how I feel about this yet as I just found out today and I've been resistant to promotion because of the added time/responsibility involved but I think in the way it's been laid out to me it won't be as bad in that regard.

You deserve it man. Like you said, you've been doing the job anyways so dont sell yourself short. In the beginning you will spend more time and energy trying to get things in order but after that you will be good.

I had a really nice Sunday. Went for my two mile run As soon as I got up, because I knew it was going to be a busy day. Went for a six mile hike with a friend, ate two whole pizzas (don't tell anyone over at the fitness thread!) and finished the evening at mick foleys stand-up show.

On the eve of turning 27, I'm thrilled to share with you guys that I'm waiting to hear back from a couple places I applied for summer work, having had interviews. One is for the camp I worked at last year, the other is the camp I actually went to as a high schooler lol.
The latter has basically given me an unofficial job offer, they told me they just need to get the paperwork sent over. Good times!

In the last two week I have:
-Been on stage, performing scenes of Moulin Rouge.
-Apparently did so well that I've been asked to do it again this evening, with this time being paid.
-Speaking of pay, I got a new job after a month and a half of being let go from my former position. I'll be working with vulnerable people, who have both mental and emotional handicaps, and helping them get their lives on track/working on getting them self reliant and returning to the community.
-I've been to the gym twice, after months of getting down in a depresses state about my lack of job and prospects and not attending. (You'll all be pleased to know that my 140kg Deadlift is still alive and kicking somehow...)
-And I published a book of my writing. I don't plan on selling any, mind you, but at least it's out in the open. A girl asked me for my waist today. I told her it was mine and that she can't have it. Or we could swap and she could take the remnants of my belly from me.
My wife has started exercising again. She's been really upset about her appearance for a while now, and I've told her repeatedly that I find her beautiful but if she doesn't feel the same she is the only one who can change it. This past week she's been taking steps in that direction, which is really cool for her.

In other news, it's now 39 days until I'm home, which is very exciting. I've never been at work for so long to make the prospect of going home so exciting!
Also, tax days. If I spend 183 days out of the UK within a period of 1 year I get all the tax I've paid on my wages refunded to me. I'll end this trip with 113 days, so fingers crossed my next trip is far afield too!

So my new job is going amazingly well...
Last week when the manager was on holiday and I was left in charge we went from being ranked in the bottom 50 of 1250 stores to the top 50. Every single aspect of the shop's audit went up, loyalty cards went up, add-on sales went up (by 50%)

Oh and today is the 200th day of my consecutive running streak. Gonna celebrate it with a cross country 5k race this evening.
So yeah, I did my 200th day by doing a cross country 5k, part of a series held on Wednesday nights near me during the summer. I don't count the times for 5k prs or anything because my gps measures it as being very slightly short ( 3.05 miles instead of 3.1) but since it's the same course every week, I can compare my times on that particular course.
Two weeks ago I got 21:37 but I was able to finish really strong with a sprint. This made me think perhaps I was running a bit conservatively throughout, especially the beginning. So last night I pushed harder earlier. End result.... 20:06 :) and there was no sprinting to the finish line haha, there was almost vomiting when I got there though.
I went back to doing my daily run at lunch time today as this evening I volunteered at a race for the first time which was actually quite fun. I was put in charge of recording times at the finish lines.
Had Field Day at work today. Going to the Randy Couture Xtreme Couture G.I. Benefit Concert featuring Joe Nichols hosted by Randy Couture, going to the club on Saturday night, and watching the Monaco Grand Prix, Indy 500, and Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday. Going to be a fun weekend.

On the subject of awesomeness - took my partner's 6 year old girl to her first Circus last night. She had a cotton candy bigger than her, loved the clowns and pronounced the Cage of Death to be the greatest thing she's ever seen.
She's also just lost her two front teeth and now looks like Shinsuke Nakamura. Massive awesome.

Yesterday, for the first time in 116 days I saw...ENGLAND!! I was even close enough to get a phone signal.
Needless to say, the mood of the whole ship's company was instantly improved and the ship is a very happy place right now. In just over 4 days I should be sitting on own sofa drinking a beer and I can't wait. The first 4 months at sea have simultaneously gone very quickly and dragged - it's hard to explain. There have been times I just wanted to go home and others when I was having the time of my life.
At the moment I am on the 4-8 watch and my new favourite part of the day (aside from breakfast) is standing on the roof of the bridge and looking out over the water as the sun rises. I have seen some awesome things at sea and I think I've made the right choice in my new career.
I head onward towards Scotland and I'm genuinely excited (if a little cold - it was 25 degrees warmer 10 days ago) to get back on solid, British land. In a little over 24 hours I should be back.
Fair winds and calm seas everyone!
ALSO - forgot to mention, had my end of trip appraisal and it's fair to say I nailed it! And ran a PB 5k today.

So my ex, one of my best friends, and my ex's best friend all went out drinking tonight. The texts I'm getting from all 3 are hilarious. Ones white girl wasted, one is super sloppy, and the third is insisting she is sober while misspelling every other word
Ran a one mile race for the first time in my life last Saturday. I have never tested how fast I can do a single mile before. During my best 5ks I've logged in a 6:30 here and there.
However, as I am determined to improve my marathon time, and it was my kid-free weekend, I could not afford to waste Saturday by just running a single mile. So I did 15 miles that morning... probably not the best preparation for an evening sprint.
However I was still extremely happy with the 5:42 time I managed to get when it came to it. I felt like fucking death and my throat has never been so dry in my life (except maybe in the dentists office when they put that saliva sucking thing tube in there)
My major running dates for the rest of the year:
August 2: River-to-sea... a 92 mile relay with seven on a team each doing two legs. Should be an amazingly fun race.
October 4: I have just this moment signed up for Twin City Marathon in Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota. I have never been to Minnesota before, its supposed to be one of the top ten scenic marathons in the usa. Doing it with a few people from one of my running groups. Never traveled this far for a race. This makes the whole 50 state ambition seem real now!
November 1: NYC baby... the big one (in all honesty, I'm expecting a better finish-time in Minnesota, the NY race is more of a bucket list experience.
November 8: Will hopefully be my one year anniversary of the running streak.

Well it was another very good two days for me at work ... yesterday my team broke the record at the center for the best total team sales for one day at 196K which was 16 more than the previous record ( I finish the day at 47000).
than today I did the best sales day of my life , as you know before my previous best for one day was 54100 in sales . Well today I finish at 67250 in sales , number one in the center and number 5 in the whole district.
on pace to be the top seller in the whole center ... last month finish in the top ten in sales at number 7 ... want that number one spot
big prizes for being in the top ten... one is a 50 inch tv ... I want it ... wish me luck

Not a concern I have, at least not that I'm aware of! Was going to get something totally impractical but the fact that I need to ferry all of my stuff from one end of the country to the other registered just in time.
This is kind of corny, but it really made me smile. My brother asked his kid the other day who his best friend was (expecting him to say one of his buddies from school or maybe even my brother) and he replied, "ehhhh, Sam!" When my brother told him that I was his Uncle and his Dad's brother he replied, "no he's my Sam, Sam is mine." Just found that very awesome and very cute.

Like Josh I might be off the singles list myself very soon. I've been friends with this woman for 3 years now, basically only seeing each other MAYBE once or twice a year until recently. I go to Revolver a lot so she commented on Facebook on one of my status check ins about it asking me when I was going again because she wanted to go. Since then we've started talking and texting non-stop and have gone out twice. It's going extremely well to put it mildly.
I sense a double date from the party crew in the future.

Had an awesome week with my brother and his family as he recovers well from his 2nd round of surgery on the tumour on his pituitary glad. He's recovering well and seems a lot better this time round than after the 1st surgery.
Hopefully that's the last surgery he needs and he can now recover and get back to having a normal life. Tough dude no doubt about it. He's dealing with all this like a true champ. If it was me having brain surgery, I'd be a total wreck!
Also getting to spend time with my nephew Eoin is always a blast and this week was no different.
Be sure to tell your family you love them at some point this week folks, life has a habit of throwing nightmare situations at you when you least expect it.

I got my new tattoo today
Going to the Route 91 Harvest Festival all weekend. Having a blast. Lots of beer and women everywhere which makes up for my week from hell at work. 8)
Paid off my ship this morning and currently sitting at Westbury station as I make my way home. 7 months at sea completed and a spell on dry land begins. 3 weeks leave and then off to Fleetwood to begin a 10 month college phase.
Still sure I made the best choice and have a great job. Spent the last few weeks playing with helicopters, warships, fighter jets and even a couple of submarines. You just don't get that in the office.

I'm going to be an uncle again!! Mart and Jura are expecting their second baby in March next year. Looks like it's a girl.
Given the utterly horrible last couple of years my brother has had, this is the best news our family (and him in particular) have had in a long, long time. With the treatment he's on after having the tumour removed, they didn't think they'd be able to have another kid - so this is a real blessing.
Just nice for something positive to happen to a guy that really deserves it.

Today has been the Day of Days in regards to my Japan trip. Went to see Mount Sakurajima (active Volcano 20 miles from where we're staying). Got 2 km away and the bastard erupted! It was bizarrely frightening and fucking beautiful all at the same time.
Followed this up with a trip to the hot springs and soaked in vaguely sulphuric volcano heated water. Just sort of lay there in a doze as the water took away all me aches n pains.
Have now topped the day with all you can eat & drink Korean BBQ (I've eaten the equivalent of; 2 steaks, a rack of ribs, three pork chops, half a pigs tongue, 8 scallops, 4 shrimp and three chickean breasts all braized at the table - washed down with 8 pints of Asahi).
Today has been the best day of the best vacation Everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Got a couple things here:
- The audio/visual job I had the past couple summers has given me some new opportunities lately. I worked a weekend last month, and will be working this coming weekend too.
- Had a job interview this past Friday for a potential seasonal position. Hoping that proves fruitful.
- I started working with a local wrestling promoter on a 30 second TV spot to help promote upcoming shows. We've had a lot of progress, and we're already discussing ideas for future projects...including some sort of weekly TV show. It's all early doors, so nothing I can give too much detail on just yet. But, things are definitely looking good.

Have just got home from Japan after 38 hours awake/26 hours travelling. Had possibly the best holiday of my life. Now I've got around 14 hours of wrestling, 5 hours of TV and 6 rugby matches to catch up with :D
New York City marathon tomorrow. Pretty psyched. It's my fourth marathon, but it's New York. 60,000 runners this year I believe, making it the largest marathon on record.
It's a city where I've shared great memories with my kid and it's a city that has made me feel like the loneliest person on earth. And tomorrow I'm going to run 26.2 miles through all five of it's boroughs with 59,999 other people and who knows how many thousands cheering. It's probably going to be a tad emotional.
Anyway, in case anyone is interested in tracking my bib# is 19397. My start time is 10:15 EST (clocks go back tonight)

Last week I walked a bit in a mock up of the final product (to test fit and such, kind of like trying on shoes) so I already know balance is going to take a little while.
From what I understand it'll go walking with a walker for a while, maybe crutches, then probably a cane then maybe nothing.

Kidney Dr and Eye Dr visits on Monday. The Kidneys tested better than they have since they've been monitoring them. They eye's showed that the surgery was a success. Both good news.

On March the 13th, I get to tick a HUGE goal off my bucket list. I am playing at a venue called the Tivoli. It is known as the best venue in the state of Queensland and has had the likes of Bob Dylan and The Gaslight Anthem (to name two of thousands) have played. This is the venue I have always dreamed of playing at, and I get to realize that goal in less than two weeks.

I had an awesome weekend in LA, hanging out with a friend of mine who flew in from Pittsburgh. We got to go to Lucha Underground taping on Sunday, and even got the VIP treatment. It was amazing. Long story short: Bagel Bites, my friend talked to Ron Funches (and I wasn't familiar who he WAS until Sorg told me later lol), and I got to wear my Lucha Temple shirt thanks to the executive producer who was on my friend's podcast a couple times, aka the reason he and I got on the list for this taping lol. So I've been super busy here lately. I've started podcasting as Dr. Kavarga as well as recording Sundays for the Kings Without Crowns Podcast. Our Soundcloud channel has over 1,000 plays in 2 months which is pretty good considering I'm doing a lot of the promoting and marketing for it myself. It's definitely been a fun two month project that's going very well.
I've also been going on a lot of dates here lately so my schedule has been packed but it's been very fun. My new teaching position has been super hectic too. I have clubs, tutoring, or meetings four days a week most week so it's been busy.
Good to hear all of the good news.
So uh, found out today that I'm going to be a Dad.
Alright, kinda freaking out but any tips would be cool.

Have always made it an issue be it having a good job or shitty job in my life to have a minimum of 2,000 in savings. Dont know if thats enough (almost $3,000 currently) but I've always had a solid emergency fund in relation to other people my age.

Cory, my biggest piece of advice is to figure out what works best for you and your child. People have different methods of parenting, but those methods don't work across the board. Just work to find out the best fit for you guys.
And save money. Powers said it best. They're expensive yo!

Invest in cloth/bamboo diapers. They work out much less than disposables and are there if child number 2 happens ^^
Never co-sleep. This was my big regret. You will be tempted. After about 2 weeks of sleeping an hour, waking up, sleeping an hour n a half, waking up, you will be tempted to stick the kid in the bed to nurse while you sleep. You must fight this temptation at all costs. Once the kid gets into your bed, it is hell to get them out :(
Baby proof ALL THE THINGS! Doors, wall sockets, windows, stairs, animals, everything. Make sure VCR/DVD players/TV's are above waist height.
Buy a belt clip for your house keys. I found mine in my shoes, the freezer, the washing machine and the VCR.
Stock up on coffee. It will be your lifeline for the next four years.
Consider a breastmilk pump. My kid breastfed until she was 4 (child lead weaning), so I'd pump breastmilk and freeze it in a ziploc to build up a stock (if I had to go to work, shopping, stay overnight for work). You just stick the ziploc in some warm water, stick it in a bottle and boom, instant baby snack.
No sharp corners! Tables n stuff are at the right height for kids to hurt themselves on. You can buy kiddies corner protectors for a few dollars. Mine have goofy red hands :D

I always advocate third party. Even if the short term results are poor, long term developing a greens party (one with the closest thing to proper ethics in politics) is necessary. Both major parties are trash (Both Aus and US) and some major political shake ups are needed.

This has changed me, and I feel the change is permanent... right now I'm protesting, but when things settle down I will be active in other ways both politically and with the community in general. Last night, I was actually planning to go join an Islamic group who meet up once a month to make sandwiches for the homeless. But then the urgent shit storm at the airports happened.
Those kinds of actions...working for your community has a much more meaningful impact than protesting. I must disagree there Bone. Protesting can be hugely productive and important in getting issues across in the media/to the average person who may not know about said cause.
It's only productive if you follow up on it, and have nothing better to do. In the course of activism there are more productive things. Community service, persuading people, recruiting more people to your cause, and voting.

My ship arrived back in the UK today. I've only spent 5 days in my home country since the beginning of September, it's good to be back - will be even better in 19 days when my time on this ship is over and I can go home to see the girlfriend and family!
What a trip though; Cape Town, Valparaiso (Chile), the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Tristan da Cunha, Rio de Janeiro and Ascension Island - I got paid to go to all of those places. This really is nothing like working in the office.

Those of you that follow me on Facebook and Twitter will notice I've gone quite political!
I've found the whole experience incredibly invigorating. Win or lose on Thursday I feel I've found something I can dedicate myself totally to. Not only has it given me something to focus on, it's got me active too. On Friday I walked 9 miles campaigning, I plan to do the same tomorrow. Its only taken 27 years but I think I've finally found something I can really aspire to do which is politics.
Recent events have not made it easy and I won't include them in an 'awesome' thread, however it has given me a new outlook on life. So I am thankful for politics for saving me as I wasn't in a very good place at the start of this year having attempted suicide. Its been something I can truly devote myself to.
That's awesome Rob, and something I can relate to. Embrace it my friend. Sorry about your struggle at the beginning of the year, but very glad you have found this calling.
I've been getting more political over the last couple of years. I think that maybe in the future it's something I might think about doing. Travel the world a bit for Queen and country first though. Looks good on the old political CV too I guess!
While on that subject, I now know that my final, 2 hour oral exam, is on 13th July. If I pass it means I'll be a qualified officer in just over a month. 3 years have gone incredibly quickly and I've visited 4 continents and done some awesome stuff. And I've only just begun!

I was going to post about my experience with Michael Franti & Spearhead and his amazing support act Nattalie Rize when I got home last night, but I was on such a high that everything I started to type just sounded like gushing fanboy stuff haha.
Not sure it's going to be much different now, I'm still buzzing this morning from it.
Truth of the matter is, Michael is a huge inspiration to me, he is one of the most positive people that I know of on this planet, and I turn to his music when I feel myself slipping in my quest to be the best person I can be and to generally live a life fueled by love. (I've been listening to him a lot since January 20th!).
So I finally got to see him live last night and he was even more inspirational than I imagined. He genuinely tried to connect as personnally as possible, with as many of his fans as possible. In between songs he spread love with touching words os wisdom (not in a preachy way, I must emphasize). I actually spoke, laughed, danced and hugged complete strangers last night, not something I usually do at concerts. I teared up a couple of times also, I won't lie.
I mentioned his support act, someone I had not heard of prior who may very well be my second favorite artist now lol. Soon as I'm finished typing this up, going to see if I can find her on Pandora. The entire band are in the same vein as Spearhead, as in you can tell they are there to spread good vibes (though the lyrics are a bit more gritty and don't shy away from the obstacles to that kind of life... kind of like some of Spearhead's older stuff actually). By far the greatest support act I've had the pleasure of hearing.
Michael does not believe in stayin confined to the stage. He was everywhere in that arena, climbing railings to get up on the balcony for the people at the back, trying to include so many people. He welcomed all of the kids onto the stage for the finale. And at the end of the gig, he didn't just give lazy hi-fives to people within reach. He hugged those close enough and those a bit further out he held hands and made eye contact. The man is a true yogi, the belief that we are all connected is real with him, he walks the walk.
I can't tell you how much I needed this. I feel so recharged right now, and feel genuinely ready to go out and do my best to try and make this world a better place.

And in other awesome news, recently my life is becoming more fulfilling every day. I am now volunteering in a lot of different ways, such as environmental clean-ups with the local chapter of the Green Party, preparing a house that is going to be settled by a refugee family, I'm signed up as a substitute ESL teacher, and I'm soon going to be involved with food distribution for homeless and others in unfortunate circumstances.
I am advocating with a group for immigrant rights, and trying to push the Fair and Welcoming Communities agenda in my county and will be having meetings with local politicians and law enforcement.
I want to give shout out to Dorling for being an inspirational example in going out and making changes in life and showing that it's possible, and to T-Bone for encouraging me to bring my activism beyond protesting, to Sam and Jordan for major encouragement throughout (honestly, positive feedback prevents helps stave off self-doubt and second guessing) and Rob for stepping up and working hard for positive changes in his own path.
Oh, and to settle the debate between T-Bone and Jordan about the value of protesting, I know it sounds like a cop-out, but you both have valid points. I believe protesting achieves varying degrees of success, but it is not enough on it's own. (That being said, the network of positive people I encountered during protests is what led me to many of the various volunteering opportunities).

So today I passed my Officer of the Watch oral exam. 3 years of work complete, and I am now a fully certified officer of the watch on unlimited tonnage vessels, as well as certified to be captain on anything up to 500 tonnes. Was a bit of a nerve wracking exam but in the end I was confident I knew my stuff, despite the examiner doing his best to make me doubt it.
Looking forward to my next challenge, where I will take legal responsibility for one of the Queen's Naval Auxiliaries for the first time!
