The Warriors.

Classic movie. I absolutely loved it and thought it was badass. I have never seen it before until last night. Its about a gang trying to go through others gangs territories to get back home without getting killed.

Tank is a great film, has the comic book feel to it.  you must likely watch the directors cut version.  It good video game based on the film too out there done by Rockstar makers of GTA series.

Now I saw a good flim last night called  REDBELT   Writen and directed by David Mamet

staring Chiwetel Ejiofor  Tim Allen  Alice Braga   Randy Couture   Rickey Jay   Joe Mantegna  Emily Mortimer David Paymer  Rebecca Pidgeon   Rodrigo Santoro

You know Chiwetel Ejiofor  as the Operative from Serenity .  he is a very good actor.    The story is great story , I enjoy it

it is about  Mike Terry (  Chiwetel Ejiofor  )  A Jiu-Jitsu  Master who has advoided the prize fighting circuit choosing instead to pusure an honorable life by operating a self-defense studio with a samurai's code

An accident on a dark , rainy night at Terry's studio between an off-duty officer and a distraught lawyer puts in motion a series of events that will change Terry's life dramatically , introducing him to a world of promoters  and movie star Chet Frank.  Faced with this , in order to pay off his debts and regin his honor, Terry must step into the ring for the first time in his life

A modern day samurai story IMO and it very good.  You do not not have to be a fan MMA to like this film and fight fans will reconizge some of the fighters that are in this film.   if you like a great story I say give this a try you will like it  .

I give it   A   Trust me check it out and give it a chance.

I watched The Warriors the other day.

Top film.

I watched Knocked Up last.

Good film, typical superbad type comedy. But it is funny and entertaining throughout. And Katherine Hygell is fit as fuck.

Big Gay Honker

I picked up forbidden Kingdom the other night, and have watched it several times.  Jacky Chan and Jet Li are awesome together.  This movie is big titty big booty little waist sex.

Clerks

To this day, still one of the greatest films ever made. it truly brings to light the working class mode of thought, and really shows a filmmaker doesn't need a huge budget to make a classic. All it took was a group of like 20 people to make this film work well, from the recurring actors, to the very biting commentary wise dialogue, and even to the everyday occurrences caught on tape. This film introduced the world to a number of things: 1.) Kevin Smith and his sense of humor. 2.) Jay and Silent Bob. and 3.) the indie film. There were indie films before this, but culturally this one had a huge impact on how we view independent films, and really brought a lot of audiences to it. it's a cult classic for several reasons, but I think the may reason its so popular is because it cuts all of the fat that movies of the time had an excess of. You don't need special effects. you don't need crazy stunts. You don't even need a large budget, or even A-list actors. You don't even need color! All you need is a camera, a group of people willing to bust their ass, and some of the best dialogue in a comedy ever. My favorite exchange...

Veronica: Something like....36

Dante: What?? Wait a second, what is that anyway, "something like 36?" Does that include me?

Veronica: 37.

Dante: I'm 37!!?

(Veronica storms off as a customer approaches)

Dante: 37. My girlfriend sucked 37 dicks.

Customer: in a row?

A+ - without a doubt.

Big Gay Honker

Then the guy walks in the direction of Dante's Girlfriend and Dante yells at him to get back over there.  I love that movie.  Clerks 2 was also excellent, and provided closure to the Dante/Randle part of Kevin Smiths movie world.  I actually hope there isn't a third clerks.  I would love to see a Mall Rats part 2 in all honesty, but I am sure Jason Lee is too tied up in My name is Earl, an excellent show in itself.  Kevin Smith is pretty hit and miss.  He's put out some great movies that are unforgettable and a few that were flops.

I watched an oldie but a goody the other night.  "The Crow" quite potentially one of the greatest movies EVER!

Duckman

Just on a side note I hope Zach and Miri Make A Porno, which is Smith's next film is a huge hit!

Peace

Day of The Dead ("Remake" 2008)

This is a remake... And I use that term VERY loosely of the critically acclaimed Romero classic.

This is not a critically acclaimed Romero classic. This is probably the worst film I have seen in a long long long time.

The plot is awful (we just run away with nothing in particular going on... Oh look some Zombies... AHHHHHHH!!!)

The effects are shit.

The Zombies are gay. It's just people in make up who have all their normal bodily functions. Except for talking. They can run and jump and all this other non Zombie shit. And it isn't running to good effect like the Dawn remake or 28 days/weeks later. It's just nonsensical and shit.

The biggest redeeming feature of this 82 minute long piece of turd? Mena Suvari running around in an Army uniform... Well it pressed my buttons pretty well. :p

1/10.

UTTER BILGE.

THANK FUCK I GOT THIS FROM LOVEFILM AND I DIDN'T PAY FOR THIS SHIT. GO AND WATCH DIARY OF THE DEAD INSTEAD. THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTH A WATCH.

Stepbrothers:  I really liked it.  Lots of good swearing which is always a plus in my book.  It's your standard kind of dumb Will Ferrell movie so you know what to expect.  Still it's short, packs in some good visual gags and also has liberal use of swear words and slap stick.  It made me laugh a lot and kept me entertained throughout.

B+

Pineapple Express:  First off I want Sol as my dealer.  That motherfucker has SO much weed in his house!  Again, this entertained me.  It wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be.  Rogan is excellent as is Marsden who blows his lump of wood performances in Spiderman out the water as the stoner Sol.  I liked the chase element to the film, although it probably could've been trimmed down a bit.  They should have had more of the girlfriend too as she was hot.  I didn't like the hitmen characters at all, very confused and muddled.  I did like the Red character, especially as he keeps getting shot but won't die.  The big shot out at the end was good and the fight scenes are actually well done and look painful as hell.  There's also some good deaths and falls from great heights after being shot to keep you entertained.  Not as good as I thought it would be, but still another good hit from the Apatow/Rogan machine...keep em coming guys.

Wanted.  I really liked this film.  For a start it's got the best young Scottish actor around today, James McAvoy, in it so that's a plus in my book.  Secondly Angelia Jolie is SMOKING hot in this film.  She just looks like she could strip and start shagging the nearest bloke to her, plus she's handy as hell with a gun and driving.

I loved the use of crazy effects in this film.  They added a lot to the action, especially the nuts bullets stuff and the driving moments.

The story was ok as well for a film like this, although the swerve I could see coming a mile off.  Still it didn't kill the film at all (as these swerves sometimes do) and instead added a nice bit of extra chance for a wicked shoot out, some more cool stunts and a nice finish to the film.

I heard this was based on a graphic novel and it had that feel to it.  If you like stunts, shoot outs, car chases, hot women and plenty of excitment, then this is your film.

Event Horizon

Not as scary as I remembered it. The writing is great and all that and it IS crepy. Good film nonetheless.

TaNK

Tropic Thunder

Good movie. I thought it was really funny. Robert Downey Jr was the funniest one IMO and has been on a role lately. I didnt even notice that was Tom Cruise until like 20 minutes after his performance. Funnsy stuff. I would reccomend.

Duckman

I just watched Tropic Thunder too Tank!  Thought it was great.

Downey Jnr just fucking owned that movie.  Although Tom Cruise was fantastic.  His use of swearing was so good he could be Scottish!!

My favourite part is where he goes total insane down the phone at the kidnappers, shouting, swearing, threatening to kill them.  Then hangs the phone up, turns to his assistant and goes "find out who that was."  I nearly shit myself laughing at that!

Great little film, really funny performances from all the lead guys but Downey Jnr is something else.

A rock solid B+ from me on this one.

Peace

Zeitgeist- The Movie

A real eye-opener and every conspiracy theorist's wet dream. They do make some very compelling cases.

For entertainment value, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you want to see a different take on some very relevant issues, I'd recommend it. Not to mention they have a soundbite from George Carlin himself at the beginning, so that gives it props in my book.

Gran Torino

I finally had a moment to watch this yesterday and all I have to say is this film is hyped too much. Clint Eastwood is a great director, but I don't care for him as an actor to be honest. I expected more to this film, but instead found it to be a bit predictable. There are some great moments but they are overshadowed by poor direction on Eastwood's part. It seems to go nowhere honestly, and by the end of it I felt cheated out of 2 hours. I can't quite grip what Eastwood was trying to convey in the film. It seemed rather forced on the audience what to think, and I'm not a fan of manipulation in film (like Crash & Babel). Subjective is better in my opinion and all this does is show Clint doing what he's been doing for years, but in a rural setting with a lot of racial slurs tossed in, and some mediocre violence. I don't think its accurate in its depiction, and I see Clint as trying too hard to cross genres and on this venture, he fails.
