Is there a way to integrate play time? I thought that'd be important to keep track of, but maybe that's just me.

That will be more of a coaching decision Bone. So for example when you sit down with the coach and talk about stuff, you can see you want:

stick with the starters a lot
get a rotation policy
use the 6th man, but not much outside of that

Because the simulator I have is built around a 12 man team I am having to cut a few corners here, plus I dont want to overcomplicate the FBL in it's first season till we are assured it's a complete and utter success.
