GM Franchise

Aces and Seeds are both monster teams. Jay Chill may be a big issue for the Seeds if he has to miss more than a week's playing time down the line but man, those are some great teams.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

I have a solid defensive squad, and they each put up big numbers. Aces are CLEARLY the team to beat.

Cory

Aces have two players, once someone figured out how to contain or one starts to slip or injury.......it could be downhill.

Very few teams have more than two star players. You're forgetting that I have a PG who in three games has dished up 52 assists. Yes, 52.

Who wants David Kradle next season then? Make me some offers I can't refuse for a great sixth man!

Mike Powers

Not me bro. He seems to want to start, and that's all.

Who are the big free agents to be at the end of this year? I have Flash Davis and Ernie Bell on expiring contracts. I plan on resigning Bell though. Just looking ahead to see if a scoring threat may be coming available.

Rob

He only wants to start because he's been selected as captain, for a guy with shocking stamina, he put in a good performance this week

GM Franchise

#8485
FBL Franchised, Vol. 5 –
Mrs. Vraba vs. Geoff Fardy Fight Night at my House:

Hello FBL fans, this is GM Franchise back with another edition of FBL Franchised. Firstly let me say that I LOVE the new Inside the FBL opening montage. Secondly been in San Diego a lot the past week or so. Not saying any more than that but it's obvious what I'm looking at doing FBL wise. Now let's get started with the Power Rankings.

Franchise's Unofficial Power Rankings, Week 3:
1.   Kentucky Hayseeds (5-0) Up 1
2.   Las Vegas Aces (5-0) Up 1
3.   Mississippi Steamers (4-1) Up 1
4.   Virginia Colonials (4-2) Up 4
5.   Montana Bears (4-2) Down 5
6.   Hollywood Stars (3-2) Up 6
7.   Seattle Toppers (3-2) Up 3
8.   Texas Stallions (3-2) Down 1
9.   Roswell Aliens (3-2) Down 3
10.   Puerto Rico Waves (3-3) Down 5
11.   Boise Spuds (3-3) Down 2
12.   Pittsburgh Blades (2-3) Up 4
13.   Anchorage Glaciers (1-4) Up 2
14.   Honolulu Volcanoes (1-4) Down 2
15.   Providence Diamonds (1-4) Up 2
16.   Tampa Bay Dragons (1-4) Down 2
17.   Wyoming Wolves (1-5) Up 1
18.   Boston Bells (1-5) Down 5

Kentucky is a monster team but they do have one problem. Seeds scandal with Jay Chill is going to be huge for them. It is going to be a big factor this week. Seeds move up to the top spot this week. Aces take the number two spot because I feel the Seeds' wins this week were more impressive overall. Aces still are the CLEAR top team out West right now due to the Montana drop off and the Aliens starting to show signs of weakness. Bears dropped to fifth after losing both games this week. Biggest movers were the Stars who moved up 6 and the Bells, Bears, and Waves who dropped 5 spots each. Shocked to see the Bells at the bottom. They need to get something going. A lot of movement due to teams who were at the bottom last week winning games this week which caused a lot of it.

Franchise Players of the Week:
East –
Troy Marshall (Waves, vs. Hayseeds): 36 pts, 12 rbs, 16 asts, 2 blks, 2 stls

West –
Eddie Lights (Aces, vs. Spuds): 32 pts, 3 rbs, 2 stls

Honorable mentions...
Troy Marshall (Waves, vs. Diamonds): 30 pts, 8 rbs, 6 asts, 2 blks, 1 stl
Scott Cunningham (Diamonds, vs. Waves): 32 pts, 5 rbs, 2 stls
Jimmy Street (Steamers, vs. Bells): 27 pts, 6 rbs, 6 asts, 3 stls
Krease McCool (Steamers, vs. Colonials): 28 pts, 6 rbs, 4 asts, 1 blk, 1 stl
Damore Richards (Waves, vs. Hayseeds): 29 pts, 4 rbs, 3 asts, 2 stls
Freddie Bishop (Hayseeds, vs. Waves): 27 pts, 7 rbs, 3 asts, 1 blk, 2 stls
Kamil Bennett (Hayseeds, vs. Stallions): 26 pts, 18 rbs, 1 blk

Franchise MVP Watch:
Troy Marshall now is the clear favorite in my opinion. His all-around stats from this week and from the season as a whole are unreal. Best baller in the FBL right now. Redford Shack, Eddie Lights, Krease McCool, and his teammate Damore Richards round out my top 5 in the MVP ladder brought to you a week early courtesy of Corona, sponsor of the Tijuana Bullfighters.

Franchise Top 5 MVP Ladder after week 3...
1.   Troy Marshall (Waves)
2.   Redford Shack (Aces)
3.   Eddie Lights (Aces)
4.   Krease McCool (Steamers)

Mack Ryan (Stallions, vs. Bells): 8 pts, 14 rbs, 3 blks

More good rookie play. This rookie class is playing well. However this week was a drop down from last week's rookie play and stats but Scott Cunningham is a star in the making. He is the top rookie right now and the next big star in the FBL. He just needs to get a team around him to make a run. Here's the Franchise Top 10 Rookie Ladder after week 3...
1.   Scott Cunningham (Diamonds)
2.   Andreas Kurtz (Wolves)
3.   Creed Jackson (Volcanoes)

Random Thoughts...

It was a weird week this week. A lot of games did not have the end result that I was expecting to see. Also from the outside looking in the East is WAY more stacked than the West. The West is just the Aces and then everybody else. Out East it's wide open but the Seeds are the clear top team even with Chuckles and now the Jay Chill drug scenario playing out.

Diamonds are a good team on paper and have the foundation for a good future with Chang and Cunningham. This team needs time to grow. Hopefully Bogolov doesn't murder a hooker before the team gels.

George Nest is leaving another team? I wish he would stay on one spot. He's a good coach just has issues with staying in place.

I hope Leighton Lee stays in Tampa and gives GM Cory a chance to turn things around. All they need is one more big time player and an all-arounder on the bench to have a good team. Not many pieces are missing from the puzzle. Just two players and, well...Flips. Speaking of him hey Mike Flips call me tomorrow. Gotta have a vacation out here with me and Franks.

Harry Allen to the SG position I feel will backfire. It's not that he can't play. The guy is a baller. It's the size as mentioned on the FBL General News. I feel as if his size will hurt him at that position. Darren McGwire is the perfect two guard size and he's a lot taller than Allen. However the Bears might want to gamble on this since Cedric Malone is becoming an issue.

Country Sampson has turned his career around. I'm happy for the big guy and he's one of the few positives in a dismal season in Pittsburgh. I'm also glad to see that the Blades aren't on the bottom of the league anymore. This is a team that is improving.

Jay Chill's involvement in a high profile marijuana ring doesn't surprise me. He is from Jamaica after all. However I think that the Seeds will be in trouble without him. He is an underrated point guard that doesn't get a lot of attention. Luckily the Bells can move Morgan to PG and start Free at SG without losing a thing. Only problem is their bench this week will be only Bob Breaker and Chuckles Tree.

I agree with OJ McLoo about the Troy Marshall "not being a team player" comments being rubbish. Look at his overall stat totals most notably in assists. He's won my Franchised Player of the Week Award for the Eastern Conference all three weeks this season. He is overall the best player in the FBL and I believe him to be a team player going by everything I've seen during his FBL tenure.

Mission is a feel good story. However time will tell if the Aces will win it all or if their overconfidence will be their undoing which is what I've been warning about week after week after week.

Wolves need to get it together. The team is a disaster and they will still be rebuilding next season unless some moves are made to turn things around. Griffin and Mai's comments are only the beginning.

Stars played great this week but they have two nagging problems. One is the lack of a big man presence outside of Drummond and second is the ongoing drama between Maverick Peters and coach Mogo. It's obvious those two will have a showdown by season's end.

Xavi Madrid's kidnapping is an interesting story. Unless my pals the Closeness Twins have a third brother I think the suspect will be someone you'd least expect. Look at what was said on the news. The person was speaking both Chinese and Japanese. That might be a big clue right there. Next Franchised I will do an expose on who could be the kidnapper and go through all of the suspects.

Spakki and Bolak Huir got married. The big question is will GM TyTy be able to keep the happy couple happy in Mississippi after this season? Only time will tell.

Mrs. Vraba vs. Geoff Fardy in a wrestling match? YES! I'm ordering this right now. This is the most EPIC feud in wrestling since Jerry Lawyer vs. Andy Coughlin back in the eighties. Good stuff. GM Death, Moses Franks, and Cage Daniels are coming to my place in San Diego to watch the match. Who else wants in?

Vernon Nelson is leaving the Bells after this season. I don't blame him. The Bells honestly should be a playoff contender team not at the bottom of the league. GM Bone has a good team but it's not gelling and not winning games.

Mark Brown to the Glaciers is a good move. Getting Bobby Joe Roddick as his assistant is good too. I'm very high on Roddick and I think he will be an excellent FBL coach.

Mark Peck is speaking to Chris Benwah...yeah, his team the Aliens are hearing voices too and they are not good. Aliens are starting to show cracks in the foundation. I feel as though they need to pick it up otherwise the Stars and Spuds (possibly the Toppers) will pass them in the playoff hunt.

Ronnie Stanza was a good pick up by the Spuds in the draft. The Wolves should look for a player like him in the draft or free agency. Just a thought. Spuds are a playoff contender out West and I've been a big promoter of them as making the playoffs.

Ronko's injury is going to hurt the Toppers. FINALLY they get something going and then this happens. Going to be a long week in Seattle.

That's all for now from here in Tijuana. The Bullfighters are playing Guadalajara and Juarez this week. San Quentin has two games this week on our push to the playoffs. Big week for me. Heading to San Diego in the morning for some business meetings before going to the games to see my boys play. Until next time, this is GM Franchise signing off.
