OUT OF CHARACTER BOARD

If there is a cap increase this WILL NOT effect having free cap room for Season 12 for scouting. All scouting is done in Season 11 from Season 11's budget. I am saying this because every year someone asks me this.

The two expansion teams will receive their complimentary scouting reports as per usual.

FBL Franchised, Vol. 9 –

I'M BAACCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!:

Hello folks once again with FBL Franchised and I have excellent news...I'm BACK in the FBL. I am the new general manager of the Honolulu Volcanoes and boy am I excited. There's some talent on this team next season that I like. There's Darren McGwire, Echo Walls, Sparky Weasel, Lucic Chachenko, Bonba Elbomu, Bernie Evans, and Country Sampson. PLUS I got not one but TWO first round draft picks. Yeah, I like this team already. We got defense, we got scorers, and good ball handlers. Even though Creed is gone Echo Walls is still around and he can learn from Country, a veteran center, like he wants to. Evans and McGwire are good scorers. Add in Sparky's ball handling and Lucic's top level defense this team has it all minus the two first rounders. Good dynamic on the team. I will have to decide what to do expansion draft wise but it'll look good. Alright enough rambling from me. It's time to go to the Franchise VOLCANO CHARGED Power Rankings.

FBL Power Rankings, Week 6:
1.   Kentucky Hayseeds (9-1)
2.   Las Vegas Aces (9-1)
3.   Providence Diamonds (7-4)
4.   Puerto Rico Waves (8-3)
5.   Seattle Toppers (7-4)
6.   Texas Stallions (6-4)
7.   Wyoming Wolves (5-6)
8.   Roswell Aliens (6-5)

15.   Boise Spuds (5-6)
16.   Tampa Bay Dragons (2-9)
17.   Boston Bells (2-9)
18.   Honolulu Volcanoes (1-9)

BIG changes in the power rankings. Ton of GM movement this week and some teams are without GMs so they all took tumbles. The big mover is the Wolves who are playing like a force of nature right now. Same with the Diamonds out East. Toppers made a big move as well. Diamonds and Wolves are my teams to watch. Both team are catching fire and I don't see anybody stopping them except maybe the top two teams the Aces and Hayseeds. In the playoffs I mean.

Random thoughts...
Willie Davies coaching the Glaciers is a good move by GM Rebel. However I hear they are interested in Lucic Chachenko and Bolak Huir. In related news I hear they'd have to give up an arm and a leg for Lucic according to my sources.

More point guard controversy in the Aces with the benching of Chi Chi Gonzalez in favor of Flan Bulous. I think the Aces will have to think about dealing one of them next season.

Joe Reed's mental issues with his second year slump is something GM Hondo will have to deal with going forward especially considering Chuckles is the back up. If Reed has a meltdown then the Seeds are going to be in serious, serious trouble.

Chui Mai wanting to get a contract extension is another major positive for the suddenly resurgent Wolves. First Griffin wants an extension then Swoop wants one and now Mai. Wyoming fans are rejoicing over this turnaround team.

I hate to say I told you so about Suziki Hondo but I did Waves fans. FBL Franchised, Vol. 1 –
QuoteSuziki Hondo is the most underrated player in the league who comes cheap. Recommended him in the preseason and glad someone got him.
Yeah, I called it before the season. Didn't expect Wright to fall apart this much but glad Hondo is getting a shot. The guy is a baller. I like the Wright for Dre Majors trade. Good deal for both teams involved.

Cedric Malone has lost his mind although what's he's been doing since leaving the Bears has amused me. I'm quickly becoming a fan. Watch out for those unicorns.

Bright Starr possibly being behind Xavi's kidnapping? This is not good for the Stallions. Hopefully this doesn't effect them going forward morale wise.

Carlos Moreno is now hunting dragons to rid the world of them. In related news he's still hunting down his basketball skills on a weekly basis in the FBL.

Country Sampson is trade bait alright. He'll be joining me in Honolulu next season along with Bernie Evans. This is smart trade by the Blades and the Volcanoes but also puts me in a bind expansion draft and college draft wise with what I'm going to do. Got a lot of thinking to do.

Colton Bunker is struggling to come to terms with life. His friendship with Chucky Dorrance will help them out in Mexico next season on the Bullfighters. Just a prediction.

Mark Peck is trying to rid the world of Wookies. Him, Moreno, and Malone should team up to form the FBL's version of the Justice League to rid the world of all imaginary creatures that are a nuisance to humanity.

Chucky Dorrance gets a pass from me since I'm his hero. Go slay that photo copier with your sword, kid.

Season 12 draft class has been announced. Good looking batch of talent.

Now for all the GM movement and trading. The Spuds got raped by the Steamers when GM Powers became the new GM of Mississippi and traded Ernie Bell, Ronnie Stanza, Dennis Reigns, and coaches Hall and Smith to Mississippi for Bolak Huir, Jimmy Street, Grizla Verenko, and Truck Lynch as well as both Mississippi draft picks. HUGE DEAL. Spuds got screwed big time on that deal. Luckily they have four draft picks to work with now. Another big deal was the Blades trading Bernie Evans, Country Sampson, and their first round draft pick to the Volcanoes for Creed Jackson. That's also a big deal but it helps both teams out. Volcanoes are going to be more solid all-around next season and the Blades get a scorer. Alright now to the GM movement. GM Jon went to the Seagulls. This move surprised me to be honest. He had a good team in Virginia but the pressure of being in the shadow of GM Dorling might've been a factor in this move. GM Bone went to the Green Hornets which is a good move for him. He needs a change of pace. GM Stoner, a new addition to the FBL, takes over the bells and GM Shields returns to run the Colonials. Shields is a good fit for the Colonials with his team managing style. GM TyTy will take over the Spuds and I hope he sticks with it. Stability is his biggest weakness. Mine is team managing skills. I will be back as GM of the Volcanoes. Got a solid team all around. Liking the pieces to the puzzle that are there. GM Josh is the odd man out. I hear that the Tijuana Bullfighters are on the market.

That is all for now. Moving to Honolulu. I'll catch ya'll next week. Go Volcanoes!

Looks like James has brought his same over-the-top, over hyping philosophy from when he was at Boise.

I want to help you James so let me show you the error in your line of thinking.

1. You don't have scorers. The best scorer on the Volcanoes will be a Blade next season. You're wrong, McGwire and Evans are not GOOD scorers. They are average at best.

2. You don't have that great of ball handling as Honolulu is the worst TO team in the league this season. Sparky has more turnovers then most other starting PGs this year.

3. Get rid of Echo Walls. He is a bust. You should have learned that the last time when you were in Boise. Echo needs a Redford Shack or Ty Williams to learn behind, not a Country Sampson. He should be the only player you don't protect.

4. You do have defense. Lucic is one of the best in the FBL, but it looks like he may be getting dealt to Anchorage potentially. Not sure if you will have a say in that or not. And Bonba is a great roleplayer. He does a lot of great things.

5. You need to get a scorer or two into Honolulu if you want to win games next season. Defense can keep you close in games, but offense ultimately will win you those close games. Sorry, but McGwire and Evans will not be the 1-2 punch to get you to the playoffs. Together they might average 20 points a game.

You need to start looking at things from a r elastic stand point and stop putting your players and your team on this pedastool of epic proportions. That's what landed you into Mexico in the first place.

Dude, calm down. This entire post has me shaking my head.

1. The fact that you actually are taking any of what I said about what I'm planning with a grain of salt is hilarious. I even posted that I was rambling about it which should tell you something but of course you'll overlook that. I don't have end of the season stat sheets so nothing is set in stone yet.

2. You actually think I don't have a plan. I've saved all the team stat sheets for the Volcano games on my laptop which should tell you that I'm evaluating EVERYTHING especially player game statistics. In other words nothing is set in stone until I evaluate contracts, game stats, etc. So what I'm saying is RELAX. Season isn't even over yet and I'm not making any immediate snap decisions that have screwed me in the past.

3. Funny how you're telling me to get rid of Walls when almost everyone warned you about Vraba preseason and you didn't listen. To answer this I'll redirect you to my previous response in #2.

4. I agree on this point. As far as Anchorage goes, it'd have to be a good deal for me to even consider trading one of the top five defensive players in the whole league. Ty's point about retirement is a good one. I do have an idea of where to go with him if he does want to retire.

5. You think I don't know this already?! smh I have two first round draft picks so what do you think I'm going to be doing with them? Get two all around ball players. Rome wasn't built in a day and this team won't be either. McGwire and Evans both average over 20 combined. I know McGwire alone averages maybe 12 a game.

Don't tell me to look at things from a realistic stand point when I flat out said this when you did this same similar reaction week one...

I'm trying to keep it as in character as possible so I went that route with it. Figured it was logical and would add some character to it.

Like I said, calm down and relax. Now my advice to you is to relax and quit getting worked up over nothing. Think of Charles Barkley meets Skip Bayless as my in-character blog persona. Funny quips mixed with stubborn stances, i.e. putting team on a pedestal, saying that the season 10 Spuds were a "force of competitive nature," continuing to be positive about the Spuds after they scored 33 points in a game, etc. In other words that's how my character was in the past so decided to keep it going as the in character blog persona. Just wanted to point that out before you "drop another bomb"...other than signing Vraba that is. :P
