I have 2 picks in the draft and no cap room once Sheldon's deal is signed so I get what you're saying.

My suggestion, dont protect either Chris Thomas or Donnie Henderson, then draft a replacement for them at a lower cost.

For me, my picks are for my aging team. Theres a chance Class/Band retire this season, Free is also there as well.

Right now I'm leaning toward keeping Thomas and letting them sign Donnie since the next draft is big man heavy and I can replace him with my first rounder.

If Chris gets you more 20 point games and starts showing that potential he was supposed to have, then I'd agree.

If he only averages 15 or so and nothing else on the stat sheet, you might want to let them both walk to Toronto and really give yourself cap flexibility... Hell, then you could afford to give Grant a call.
