Whenever possible, I let the agent tell me what they want. Unless you know about what they want, or they flat out want you to make the first offer, always let the agent get the ball rolling.

Judging by his agents reaction, yeah I overpaid. It didn't seem like too big a reach at the time. Its only a $3.5 raise from his current salary. I added the PR because I wanna do a "2 Pow Punch" campaign next season.

I think it'll work out okay in the end. I'm going the "stability" route. No crazy trades, keeping my core guys in place.

A $3.5 million raise that wasn't necessarily warranted.  He's only a rookie and yeah he's played pretty good to this point, but a raise after the first season? Nah.  Stop drinking BD's water.
